I guess it is all where you're coming from. I don't commute, I don't work a million hours. I still LIKE the job, I just don't like what's happening to it. The thing is though, that's my problem and how I deal with it. I am not stuck here, I have a full life outside of US. Maybe that's why the flight benefits are important to me. Like I said, I have planned vacations around what is open and it's fun. I don't really care where I go sometimes, as long as it is interesting and varied, and that's the beauty of flight benefits, you don't really do that unless you fly for free. The big China vacation? Sure, I'll buy tickets, but to take my family to see Chichen Itza? No tickets needed.
I am sure attitudes like mine drive you crazy. I am not that senior, but I am senior to you. You want us all to go away so your life will get better. Totally relate. The thing is, I have done the numbers, these senior mamas are 50-62 years old. If you actually talk to them, you find that they are lovely, smart people, who are doing exactly what anyone would do in the same situation, they're enjoying their seniority and trying to adapt to not having a pension. They aren't going anywhere for about 10 years. That's probably after I will be gone, so I am resigned to making the best of it. In the meantime, if MIA has seats, well I like a specific hotel down there, off I go. That doesn't happen with Expedia.
Now if someone gave me $20,000, my S3 and full flight benefits? Buh Bye!
