Answering your own post with an identical post is just strange.
These negotiations are in the first inning. With a merger coming, negotiations will be drawn out by Delaney just like he did at UA/CO merger where he's in his 3rd year of no pay increases and not even close to any contract in sight. Remember, ask those on Delaney's ticket how Delaney has handled the UA/CO negotiations. The CO/UA negotiations are very significant since it's the exact same situation of a merger and Delaney completely screwed those merger talks up. Anyone from Delaney's team who wants the US AIRWAYS members to vote for Delaney should be willing to discuss how Delaney has handled other merger talks. US AIRWAYS members can't afford someone who supports managements plan to scrap regular negotiations for transition talks.
Besides, the US AIRWAYS negotiations are only scheduled to meet 4 times from January 1- June 1. The frequency of negotiations explicitly indicates that negotiations are only in the 'first inning'. At any rate, with the pension cut being triggered with any new T/A, why would any US AIRWAYS member want a quick contract anyways? Any wage gain would have to be substantial to offset a 40% voluntary pension cut. Doesn't make any sense.
regards,
They just rubber stamp them now anyways. Funny when the first question I ask is if they have a predetermined outcome. With in ten minutes they answer with the predetermined outcome. I've even been told they were not there to argue.Because your members need to know your track record.
And let me simplfy this for you.
Third Step Process.
For the Union: AGC
For the Company Labor Relations.
Negotiations:
For the Union: AGCs, GLR and Members at Large.
For the Union: Labor Relations.
So if Labor Relations management are in Negotiations with Fleet, there wont be anyone from the company to hear third step grievances, since they are set up and scheduled by labor relations.
the Delaney team would like the membership to bite on the concept that voting for a new team would have an adverse effect on negotiations. I believe, based on the lack of urgency of negotiations with US Airways, nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is there is no urgency being demonstrated by either party. Negotiations to "discuss" contract issues scheduled once every other month? An adverse effect? Really?... I'm hopeful the membership can see through these smoke and mirrors, offered by a team that has been in place for 4 years, and has produced little if anything.
Respectfully,
ograc

I believe that they will throw a temper tantrum if the company does not move faster than they have been. They might even stomp their collective feet and hold their breath until they turn blue. How do you plan to drag the company to the table?
Carry on.

Feels good man.As for a galaxy far, far, away, PHX sure seems that way sometimes.
Feels good man.
Taking all things into account, the personal history of Tim Nelson only weighs so much in my evaluation of the Occupy ticket, and it's not a whole lot. Without having witnessed firsthand what he did or did not do and why back when is just a bunch of unintelligible drama and hearsay. I don't care if he sold the Moon to the Martians. Maybe I really really should, but I don't. Better to spend our time discussing our collective goals and plans for achieving them. These days it's natural to have strong skepticism towards fast talking folks that pitch ambitious plans. So while I might only suspiciously trust a candidate, that doesn't mean he doesn't have potential and leadership ability; different times and circumstances call for different types of leadership.
The Occupy ticket is the only one I've seen its message and platform made available and publicized online. Who/what are the other tickets and what do they have to say? The Occupy ticket is the only one I've seen its message and platform printed, posted, and made easily available at work. Again, who/what are the other tickets and what do they have to say? How would I know? This looks to me like "engaging the membership", and they seem to be the only people doing it.
What does the incumbency have in its favor? It seems to me they have more black eyes than feathers in their caps. I challenge anyone to list the successes of the status quo leadership as the evidence for why they deserve my continued faith and support. Answers about what Tim Nelson did a long time ago in a galaxy far far away will not be accepted.
I like the candidates Occupy is running from PHX. I think its past time the leadership here were overhauled and I know many share that sentiment.
