Fleet Service apathy

Exactly Niblet, we have nothing to loose, the one's who have something to loose is the hundred thousand dollar club.
Do your job or get voted out, I will not vote for anyone of them because of friendship, they will only get my vote if they perform and most have been acting as if they were management for US. Why haven't we been to contract negotiations? and if they have been , why no reports on the progress, the 39 cent raise coming in July doesn't satisfy my hunger.

Nelson? Nelson? Nelson?

No answer?

You are really in no position to be calling-out others for a lack of a speedy response given your illusionary leader has avoided this forum to answer the questions posed by myself and many others. Maybe Tim has other obligations like working, such that he cannot reply minutes after you post?

But hey, since I have your attention... why do you tell the forum about all the accomplishments of Rich Delinquency and the New Direction Team during the past 4 years, as he has so far eschewed discussing matters with the Membership?

Rich Delaney..... Where arrrrrreeeeee yyyyooooooouuuuuu?

So Parodies Jester.

OK… I’ve been attempting to ferret out fact from fiction for weeks now... and so far… here is what I have concluded…

1) The Give-Back Program is not credible or enforceable it is more than likely a gimmick to get Tim into office.

2) Re-training an entire ticket of Tim’s AGC’s would remove a substantial chunk of time and money from our resources at a critical time. (This would be applicable with the other tickets that are attempting to run as well.)

3) There is no magic person, or deity that can just waltz into a position of power like President of the 141, and completely alter the course of Organized Labor in this Industry! This observation is based on the myriad of complex regulations and laws that govern virtually every move we make. I don’t care how good of Bull S***er someone is… it is what it is… just ask the Pilots!

4) We can vote a mixed ticket if we wish, but that contains inherent risk as well due to several observations. The first being it may end up provoking a power struggle with UA, and perhaps weakening our position in that respect. If we “mix and match”… we could end up with candidates that are opposed to each other in ideology, thus creating an environment of friction, and mistrust that will drain our resources.

No matter how you cut it… radical change in leadership will not improve our position at the table… nor will it accelerate the arbitration/mediation process. The only thing that I have observed that could be done by Tim… or anyone else for that matter is this…we could improve communication; and perhaps organize an informational picket or two… That’s IT! The rest is strictly governed by federal laws!
roabilly,
Items 1,3 & 4 I am in agreement with. Item 2 I respectfully disagree. Training would be needed if a change of direction and accountability is what the members vote for. It would require time and resources. Endorsing a team for another four years, who has been in office for four years with mixed results, could be costlier in the long run. Negotiations are at a snail's pace right now. A change in leadership certainly isn't going to have an adverse effect regarding that issue. The company is in no hurry to improve our current CBA. The real question is does the membership believe the current leadership team has worked to the best of their ability? Have they effectively represented and brought remedial action to grievances? Have they been readily available to the stations and members they represent? Every 4 years the current leadership team will be held accountable. If they have been effective they gain endorsement from the membership for another term. If they have not... changes will occur.

1) The Give-Back Program is not credible or enforceable it is more than likely a gimmick to get Tim into office.

Not necessarily. To say that it is not a sure thing, even if Tims slate get elected en masse would be correct, but nothing prevents it from happening either. On the flip side, I find it VERY unlikely that anyone on another slate would do it, and at least two of Tims own have stated they won't either. Fact is though, no one can say it will or will not happen until after the fact.

2) Re-training an entire ticket of Tim’s AGC’s would remove a substantial chunk of time and money from our resources at a critical time. (This would be applicable with the other tickets that are attempting to run as well.)

First, Tim is not going to get a clean win, but whether he does or doesn't this isn't a fair statement. For every new AGC on the ballot this will happen regardless of ticket. This is not exclusive to Occupy.

3) There is no magic person, or deity that can just waltz into a position of power like President of the 141, and completely alter the course of Organized Labor in this Industry! This observation is based on the myriad of complex regulations and laws that govern virtually every move we make.

Dead on, 100% correct.

I call bullshit. If people want to foster ill will to our brothers and sisters at other airlines fine, but it doesn't make it true. The simple fact is that every elected and appointed representative is governed by the law. We will get what we are required or people will go to a Federal pound me in the ass prison. Individually I'm certain that there will be a few miscreants, but it's asanine to say that a UA rep will provide sloppy service to US because they work for UA. In fact, I think this is our problem. WE DO NOT ELECT AGCs BASED ON THEIR EMPLOYER! A US AGC can represent a UA employee just as well as a UA one, with the exception possibly on contract familiarity. I thought this was about us as a union, not us as UA or US.

No matter how you cut it… radical change in leadership will not improve our position at the table… nor will it accelerate the arbitration/mediation process.

Correct again UNLESS whoever is elected as President decided to change the negotiating committee.

We wouldn't want that given they are doing such a bang up job. Zero communication, moving at a snails pace, and dining out on our dime. Let's not forget the weeks off at a time they take while our wages sit idle.

There’s a negotiation in PHX,
Membership’s broken out in fights;
There’s a grievance jam in the System
That’s backed up to New Direction ’08,
There’s a station short an AGC,
Parker’s due at DFW!
Rich Delaney, WHERE ARE YOU?

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 27, 2012

Brothers and Sisters,

The Union passed an Overtime proposal to the company this week and we spent time on Filling of Vacancies, Safety and Health.

As stated in our last update, the goal was to get some merger protection language to the company, considering that a merger may happen at some point. We passed the company a proposal for consideration and we sent the language to the Grand Lodge legal department.

It will continue to be a priority of this Negotiating Committee to get protections in case of a merger.

The Negotiating Committee as a whole works well together but there are always differing views through which we all have to work before submitting proposals to the company on each and every Article. We constantly remind each other to consider how part-time employees, full-time employees, hubs and small stations would be affected by the language we consider. This is very time consuming but necessary to address the concerns of this membership and to bring back a contract we all deserve.

Our next two negotiation dates include the week of April 23rd and the week of May 28th.

In Solidarity,
Negotiation Committee

Saywhat, thanks for the update. Are you a member of the neg. team or you passing this along. If you are on the committee, why do I have to go through a public forum to get this info? Should I send a 60 dollar check to aviation . com for the info. This is exactly what i'm trying to get across, this distict fails it's members and doesn't even think twice about it. Once again thanks for the info.

Almost make's me want to bid a shift managers job. Then I wouldn't have to listen to the exuses, I could just laugh at them.

So they went from 2/27 until 4/23 without being at the table? And they went to the table mid summer of last year, correct?

Just passing this information from where I found it. iam141.org

Jestar,

You certainly are a piece of work.

You voted for the POS CBA which lets US outsource stations, yet you blame Delaney and he had no part of negotiating that agreement.

I will tell you, that you as fleet need to place the blame where it belongs, and thats on Doug Parker and Company.

From being involved in 141, 141M and 142, every union on the property has the same issues, the company's M.O. is to procrastinate on the grievance procedure and push most everything to arbitration and let the dice roll and cost the union more money.

You claim to dislike the IAM and Delaney, yet your apathetic like most of the membership and you need to really think, Tim pushed for Delaney and now your not happy with him, do you really think Tim is going to make a difference?

Is he going to force labor relations to change and hear the grievances in a more timely manner?

I can tell you that wont happen, ALPA, USAPA, AFA, IAM, TWU, CWA none of them can force the company into doing anything.

Tim has always been about Tim, and did more damage to his fellow coworkers than the company.

He has always wanted to be in power, and has split the membership for over 20 years, not bringing them together.

And if you think he can change the District, your sadly mistaken, the bylaws and the International Constitution govern how things work.

He will have to answer to GVP Sito Pantoja who's pinky has more knowledge and experience than Tim can ever accomplish.

Tim has always been on the sideline throwing stones.

Heck the company almost terminated him for his postings on the web page he made called "The Big Picture". The CLT Grievance Committee saved his butt.

Like I said, buyer beware.
