No joke from what I'm hearing Canale keeps bringing us this crap and we have to keep up the solidarity of a No vote if not thousand of jobs will be toast If one is weak and lets Canale get away with this they may not have a job in six months when we merge. What good would a raise be then if your laid off? If your thinking about surrender and its over just listen to brother Bluto for advice click here

If the rumors are accurate, I doubt I'll be voting for the TA. For me to consider it at $19/hour it MUST have retro back to the ammendable date for the West contract. No I'm not expecting retro, but that's one of the only two conditions that will get me to seriously consider the TA. The other is the obsenly unrealistic $25/hour.

The same Catering group that the PHL IAM leaders threw 22 Class 2 stations under the bus to save in 2005?

Henderfuzz what part about 19 of your west class II stations being gone do you not understand? or do you simply not care that your junior brothers and sisters at PHX and LAS will be gone,replaced by senior workers coming in from ClassII stations
Chill out I believe is a west worker and doesnt seem to have the all about me attitude you have.
You can rest assured that anything like that sept p.o.s. rag will meet a resounding No in CLT and I feel comfortable in saying Philly will do the same.

I'm West and not expectig to vote "yes". Neither are most of my coworkers. And my station isn't on the outsource list. It's Canale that screwed the West over by not pursuing Section 6.

Ever hear of Bait and Switch? Six months after you vote for something you wonder what the heck did I vote for this thing. Then comes your pink slip saying your station is closing due to a merger or contract concession or your in a big station and you get bumped outta of a job because 20 stations closed down on the west coast and those folks come to your city to take your job.

Buddy I lived that BS and never again I'm on the east coast now and I'll fight like heck for the west coast cities on the chopping block.

This guy Canale has gotta go only 56 days to go before the Voting nails start going into the Team 2008 coffin.

As far as the guys and gals in those cities they most definanly should be protected in that they would get first chance to transfer to the larger cities ahead of anyone.
I also once again say anyone who has ever worked in this industry long enough understands that you might have to move someday or you can chooses not to. I dont belittle this situation becasue its not easy, and I do know exactly how it is in that I have moved 4 times over my career.
What I dont think anyone here seems to understand, is that we as a group make pretty darn good money even without getting a raise, and for anyone to dispute this, than I challenge anyone to go out and find a job with our experience and do it for 15 to 19 dollars per hour starting pay.
You will be hard pressed to find it especially anything with the flexablity we all have in our work.
So you guys go right ahead and get ready to screw this thing up again.
I know I will never convince anyone here.

You aren't convincing, you are right! Let's say for arguements sake, that we DO make pretty darn good money. Well, the news for you is that our competitor (WN) tops out at just about $25 dollars and hour after ten years of service. Now that is pretty darn good money ( they are also in negotiations and are pushing for more). We Westies are under an expired contract (3 yrs old) that offers a 15.20 top out for 15 year employees. Now, you will have a mountain to climb to convince me, at least, that we are making pretty darn good money. We are at the bottom of the industry in wages and work for a company that has billions (yes, plural) in cash reserves and is in the top 5 in major carriers.

Trust me... I want a raise, but what am I willing to sell to get it is the question. I will have my job on the chopping block if any T.A. with outsourcing language gets passed. I loathe the idea of that for several reasons, but I do have a plan B, plan C, and even a plan D in place. It is just that I actually like the city I work in and don't want to have to head BACK to the desert, as I have worked there for this company before and will go again if I have to, but prefer not to.

I don't know if there are and East employees in those stations, but at least most of them have West employees. They can't outsource it right now. Unles and until they CLOSE the station or we give up the protection West employees are in those stations TO STAY! It needs to remain that way as well.

his brain up. Substandard is not on the plate. Remember guy's, we don't have to sign now
our contract is not up until 12/31/09. Why woul Al and cheapsuites think we would lock into
two additional years of concessionary contract. If what is correct about the west concerning
the 19 cities and a thousand jobs..... I don't see how rr could come back to work and face the people
he screwed. Fleet it's time to grow a set................if any of these union reps walk into a union hall
or on the property, they should face the rath for selling out the folks who's dues pay thier
salaries. You hear that cheap suites, The belly warmer is about to get a new sugar daddy.

Lets not get our collective panties in a wad just yet. As of right now all it is, is Rumor and Speculation. Although I would not put it past canoli to do this, I am going to wait and see. It is my understanding that the whole NC has to sign off on a T/A to bring back to the membership for a ratification vote. So we will have to wait and see. So at this point it is my opinion that this is just rumor. I hope though that it is not true, cause if it is, canoli just showed Fleet just how much management blood he has in him. All the more reason for him to go come June.
