Hey Southwind there you are. I asked you a question a ways back in the thread. You never showed the courtesy to answer that question instead it seems just ignoring it?southwind said:I think after the soon to be announcements, the "Grassroots Efforts" will be a dead issue and all the other unions at other carriers, will be scrambling around trying to figure out wtf they're going to do now!
I was told that the link provided wasn't guiding to the article from a personal computer. Here's another link to what I was talking about.WeAAsles said:And the TWU has never worked with AA to try and bring costs down or assist in generating revenue by bringing in OAL work.
Wait what's this?

In one word......no.WeAAsles said:Hey Southwind there you are. I asked you a question a ways back in the thread. You never showed the courtesy to answer that question instead it seems just ignoring it?
Why didn't you give an answer? Did I hit a nerve?
Was this the announcement you were talking about BTW?http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-delta-air-lines-to-pamper-workers-with-airport-spa-20150911-story.html
Even though I'm anti- union, the ramp, being overdue, may very well be the case and again will state that even though anti union, I do support the right to petition a vote and let the majority involved decide, for better or for worse!Glenn Quagmire said:I get it. I have been a rep, non rep, and worked for union and non union workplaces.
I have many friends who work for Delta. Some who are former NWA (non scabs) and some who have been at Delta pre Western and post Western, but strong Delta.
My father has many of his now retired friends who were long time Captains at Delta.
Without giving away anymore, I am intimately familiar with the way it was, and the way it is.
A union is not something the mechanics need ATT.
Ramp...way overdue.
Didn't think you ever would have the ca-jo-nes to answer my question to you.southwind said:In one word......no.
The question is on page 535. shouldn't be that difficult for you to find and I'm quite sure you have already perused passed it anyway.southwind said:Ask the question again so I can answer it and have you stop stalking me.
BTW, do you work at DL or just here to stir the pot?
I know this is a DL thread and I apologize but Weaasles in the 38 years i've work here at LGA for LUS I have NEVER seen a manager get in anyone's face or raise a voice to a worker. Im not saying its utopia but I sure hope we adopt the LUS corporate culture and not AA's if it as bad as you make it out to beWeAAsles said:The question is on page 535. shouldn't be that difficult for you to find and I'm quite sure you have already perused passed it anyway.
Work for Delta? No thank you. I prefer to work for a company where I can have an employment CONTRACT myself personally.
Not that I don't trust corporate management. Well ok no I don't trust corporate management.
No, I have never had a manager get in my face, nor witnessed it happening to someone else and another no to I don't have any issues what so ever voicing my opinion to management.WeAAsles said:The question is on page 535. shouldn't be that difficult for you to find and I'm quite sure you have already perused passed it anyway.

Not sure I believe you unless you're management yourself or maybe not in a low skill required position? Are you ACS or an FA?southwind said:No, I have never had a manager get in my face, nor witnessed it happening to someone else and another no to I don't have any issues what so ever voicing my opinion to management.
So, your here to stir the pot. Ever cross your mind, corporate management doesn't trust YOU?
700UW said:See that's where you are wrong, as far back as EA the IAM has worked to save money, we did it at US in the late 90s early 2000s, how do you think the line hsngar in CLT got built?
honestly I don't get much of that from Delta or from management.WeAAsles said:What certain individuals that post here do not seem to understand is that not everything is about MONEY. If Delta is going to come out with an announcement for raises soon, great. 4% raises terrific, 10% even better.
But what it's about is "Quality Of Life" As I read that Delta FA Facebook page I really don't hear people complaining about what they are paid. Except for the out of pocket medical costs which are nuts at DL, it seems like they are ok with the wages? What they aren't ok with is the in between treatment. Individuals that are not in lock step as a DL cheerleader are consistently targeted for removal from the collective hive. They're shunned if they aren't the happy Stepford wife or husband that the company demands them to be. They want automatons, not free thinkers who may challenge the business acumen. Basically stay within the established order and know your place.
You don't have to be a Union supporter. But what you should support is an enforceable employment CONTRACT. A Union is just the easiest road to accomplishing that for a collective group.
Southwind if you really believe that any upcoming announcement is going to slow down the momentum, you're mistaken.
You can't buy your way to happiness.
2007? really?WeAAsles said:I was told that the link provided wasn't guiding to the article from a personal computer. Here's another link to what I was talking about.
Tulsa Base Attains $500 Million Breakthrough Goal
American Airlines Maintenance Services, the marketing arm of American's maintenance organization, and the Transport Workers Union (TWU), representing the airline's maintenance workers, have set an aggressive goal of obtaining $175 million in customer revenue in 2007.
For the past three years, American and the TWU have been working together as business partners to transform the airline's maintenance organization from a cost center to a profit center. Using the principles of Continuous Improvement, the maintenance team has increased productivity and efficiencies, reduced costs, and significantly optimized operations. Thus, American has been able to successfully compete for customers' maintenance requirements.

As far as your second part. Oh no, I'm sure they don't trust me and I don't trust them either. But we do have a mutual understanding I'm sure and can talk with each other. And they know who I am all the way to the top of the ladder. I'm not exactly low profile.
I also have my sights on your airline. Personally I think it gives my upper management a slight smirk?
exactly.southwind said:No, I have never had a manager get in my face, nor witnessed it happening to someone else and another no to I don't have any issues what so ever voicing my opinion to management.
