it's not condescending, Kevin.

the word "son" is quite common in many languages. congratulations on your ability to recognize Portuguese.

Do you speak it or any language fluently?

and of course the connection is that 700 says the IAM has negotiated benefits for LOD positions at other airlines - none of which have as many LOD speakers as DL. And the IAM absolutely cannot make a prediction about what it can do as part of negotiations.

for the record, lecturing me about how to stay on topic when you refuse to do the same thing to others is condescending. got it?

So....if the IAM cannot negotiate a contract that's agreed upon by the majority and hence, start collecting their dues, can the IAM immediately be voted out or are they imbedded like a tick and will take just as long to get rid of as it did for them to get their foot in the door?

How long has the "double secret card collection" been going on now....a year?

so AA isn't a highly profitable airline now?

And IIRC, didn't the latest WN contract include pay raises that are a MAXIMUM of 1.5%.

DL employees have received larger pay raises than that and higher levels of profit sharing.

DL people are smart enough to know the difference between what a union "offers" and what they get right now.

February 25, 2012. This is what the workers at Delta know they get right now.

"Everything that is happening right now makes the full-time employee feel like they are a vanishing breed," said Kip Hedges, a full-time Delta baggage handler. "What they are doing is transforming a career job into a revolving-door job. The whole thing is set up for the destruction of a career job."

"If the union effort is defeated, there will be no stopping further increases in Ready Reserve or fighting for Ready Reserve benefits," stated an entry in Blue Notes, a newsletter written by employees in favor of the union. "Delta will buy out or force out senior workers and steadily increase the number of lower paid workers."
Delta acknowledged that it does prefer to fill full-time jobs with Ready Reserve staffers who want to work full time. However, "it's never been Delta's policy to force anyone in a full-time position into a Ready Reserve position, and that will continue," Durrant said.
But baggage handler Hedges says he's concerned about the future.

"These aren't jobs to fill temporary needs," Hedges said. "These used to be full-time positions with benefits."

first, the article is over 2 years old.

second, just because Kip said it doesn't make it true.

he can talk all he wants about vanishing career jobs but he can't explain and neither can you that unions have presided over the destruction of far more jobs and WN's rampers are no further ahead in preserving jobs.

but you cant explain the fact that those same donkeys running the airlines went to CH 11 to gut those contracts and thus the destruction   on the other hand you believe DL can do no wrong yet no other airline can do no right.   Kip should have never been fired in the first place     I hope he gets his job back    Hope he wins his lawsuit against dl    DL is very much as anti union company as Walmart is

it is simply your distorted view of reality that believes that I support all mgmt. and that DL can do no wrong.

the martyr complex seems to be in vogue with labor in the airline industry.

he needs company.
