You have a short (or selective) memory. You sure I haven't mentioned "a peep" about the T/A at UA?Really sure?Given your contempt for M/L staffing at line stations, you should be cheering these latest actions at UA.
No contempt for mainline staffing, what I am opposed to is the CWA's position that agents at stations with all RJs should get the same pay as my AA hub agent friends at MIA. No need to have stations like Asheville, Myrtle Beach, or Sarasota mainline staffed particularly if the people in the hubs and major non-hub stations give up things just to keep them there.

Also, I recall MIA was outsourced back in 2009 at the same time MHT was and were both transitioned to Express (MIA had been a Ted station). sCO had mainline MIA (non-Union ATW, newly IBT organized BTW) and is that why the station is now being closed again?

MIA had been cutback significantly by UA and eventually in 2008-09 they pulled all mainline flying and outsourced everything to Express.

How do unions promote equality if different members receive different privileges? Why have Roach and Sito collected millions from the IAM over the years while other TWA workers became unemployed?

Why is the IAM funding an appeal for Kip Hedges if he isn't an IAM member and the IAM doesn't represent DL workers?

Why do some grievances get heard immediately while others (liked Robbed's) get held back for six years and counting?

And CBAs also are and can be divisional with two tiered structures and changes in benefits and work rules for employees hired after a certain date. The UA agreement only protects people on the seniority list as of 4/1/2006.

Championing the erasure of line station staffing at US/AA while decrying it at UA is...inconsistent.
If the TWU was doing it I would say the exact same thing.

yet when the TWU slammed the dog$h!t to the AA folks you did not slam them yet you slam the IAM at UA when in reality it was the UA IAM leadership and UA mgmt. that began the whole crappy deal at UA      Yes I have criticized both sides but in the end that should be one hell of a wake up call for the next time they have a vote  It is not just bout money

Robbed what specifically are you referring to that I didn't criticize?

Josh

nothing too specific  but the point is  youre constantly slamming the IAM   Im simply saying go look at the terrible job the TWU has done to AA over the last few yrs  and read what a lot of the AA folks have said about the TWU  but you don't slam them for anything   Then look at the CWA  They at PMUS before and after HP the folks kept all their cities mainline      I understand the criticizing of the IAM at UAL but the criticizing also goes to the membership who voted for the contract bec of the money  and for dam sure the mgmt. at UAL deserves the bulk of the criticizing for even bringing that crap up in the first place.

Who from the IAM will be there? Roach? Sito? Ira? William O'Driscoll? Bill Scheri??

Did the IAM pay for hotels in DC for the F/A activists that went to deliver the cards and submit the filing?

Delta Flight Attendants, IAM File For Historic Election

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) today delivered signed election request cards to the National Mediation Board (NMB) from nearly 12,000 Delta Air Lines Flight Attendants to formally request that the federal agency conduct a union representation election at the carrier.

An election victory for the more than 20,000 Flight Attendants at Delta would be the largest ever transportation sector organizing win and would cap off more than two years of grassroots efforts by Delta Flight Attendants to gain union representation.

“This is a historic day for these courageous Flight Attendants,” said IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger. “The IAM stands firmly behind the Delta Flight Attendants’ effort to win a strong voice in their profession and stability in a volatile industry.”

The NMB is expected to order a representation election within four to six weeks of today’s filing. The 12,000 election request cards represent approximately 60 percent of all Delta Flight Attendants, well above the NMB’s minimum requirement of 50 percent to hold an election.

“An overwhelming majority of Delta Flight Attendants today demanded that a union representation vote be conducted,” said IAM General Vice President Sito Pantoja. “They are an inspiration to the entire labor movement. The IAM will make every effort to ensure that they achieve their goal of negotiating an industry-leading contract.”

“We are the reason Delta is the world’s most profitable carrier and leads the industry in almost every financial and operational measure,” said 35-year Delta Air Lines Flight Attendant Gabe Perez. “Yet, we lag the industry in wages, benefits and work rules. That will change once we win our election and negotiate the industry-best contract we deserve.”
