Grassroots Efforts at DL for ACS and FAs, no personal attacks.

IMHO, this whole deal with alleged forged cards is simply a manufactured way to get people to think the company will know both who has signed a card & which way they'll vote...

Wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

P.S. How sad is it that someone's first reaction to a supervisor calling is a thought that they might be in trouble. And a NoWayer at that.

Some "family."

of course it is the company's fault that cards are showing up for FAs that never signed them.

Whether you want to say it was the IAM itself or union organizers who are actually DL employees, it is clear now and was 5 years ago (or whenever the last votes took place) that there are a whole lot of employees that do not want anything to do with a union and have every right to speak their opinion as much as the union supporters can.

as for sick time, you need only look at what private enterprise offers to see that DL's sick time provisions are very much in line with private business.

You continue to think that unions can just pull levers on a gumball machine to get benefits.... those benefits cost money. Further, DL knows that sick time is not anywhere close to equally used by all people at companies that have generous sick time policies; a small minority are heavy users and are subsidized by the majority.

The reason why DL employees are getting over $1 billion in profit sharing for 2014 is because DL employees whether they like the policy or not realize that sick time costs money and they don't want to subsidize a relatively few slackers. There might be a few who will be happy to be sick but the vast majority of DL employees have the pride to do the job they are paid to do and take the profit sharing.

further, it is all the more ludicrous that the IAM would even raise the issue given that even union supporters have argued that DL cannot cut what they have.

you somehow think that a union can just keep adding costs and benefits without taking anything off.

DL's sick time policy won't change unless the company takes something back.

you can take that to the bank while DL employees write checks using their profit sharing

That's probably because DL never calls you unless there is some issue. When was the last time your employer called you at home? Probably never because you do your job right. 38 yrs. no calls yet unless a question about a flight...and I had the same reaction ..what did I do? It just doesn't happen or am I wrong?

for all the decades I was at DL, I never got a call at home unless I called and was waiting for a callback.

I doubt that it is any different for In-Flight.

and even when I was called at work, it was because I had data/knowledge/information that my bosses wanted.

I never once called any of my employees at home unless they were on call and asked to be contacted at that number regarding work issues.

Lets do the math, we know World Fraudster isnt too good at math.

Lets see there are around 20,000 FAs at DL, over 12,000 signed cards to call for an election, that is about 60% of the active FAs, hmm, seems 12,000 is greater than 8,000.

And cards keep coming in!

no you're NOT wrong.

also the forgery issue isn't manufactured.
Many are concerned that the IAM has forged signatures.  many including myself.
With (some) of the Delta IAM activist. it isn't unbelievable that they would forge cards.

Do you realize the IAM had no access to anyone's signature?

The IAM also know that EVERY single card will be reviewed by the NMB against the name and signature list that DL has to provide to the NMB.

No one working for the IAM would forge a card.

More typical talking points from the Third Parties DL is paying to run their anti-union campaign.

Thank Baba... By the way ..just anecdotally my close friends have told me that they signed cards just to stop being asked all the time. They are former NW. My question was how did they know that they had not signed cards yet?p

Do you ACTUALLY know some of the Delta F/A's  who are sitting in the lounge ?
and conversing on FB doesn't count.
Do you also know how many blank cards their are that are easily accessed?
Forgery isn't out of the question

I believe each base keeps a record of who has signed or not.
volunteers i guess are polling?
also the IAM has also been calling F/A's at  home asking as well.

Good to hear about your friends.   I do believe depending on what
base.  dtw/msp caugh caugh, their is a lot of face saving.

How many times do I have to post this till you all understand?

The IAM knows every single card will have its signature matched to the list provided from DL by the NMB.

So know one from the IAM will forge cards knowing they will be verified.

yes reputable people will NOT forge a card.
NOT everyone is reputable there are always bad apples
eager volunteers, angry and spiteful employees.  it can happen

And DL management and anti-union FAs could have done it also.

More than likely its just fodder.

Baba-- Anything can happen.... And IMHO, what we're hearing/seeing now is only the beginning. You guys can call me cynical all you want, but I wouldn't put it past the company (or more accurately, the union avoidance shadow men they're employing) to set these sorts of things up. It wouldn't be the first time...

Meto-- Mine doesn't call me either, but it's still telling to me that this person's first reaction is one of dread and not curiosity. It's indicative of the climate of edginess that is coursing through a lot of bases/stations right now. Can't speak for everywhere, but that simply didn't exist in my world prior to this merger.
