BlownKnees,

It take time to fix an election... be patient, okay?
Unless anyone's heard otherwise I don't think it a reasonable assumption that those who organized and participated in these elections were acting in anything but good faith. It might be my naivety, but it seems to me that those who keep Unionism so close to heart would consider it such a thing shameful.

It seems once people remove the IAM knives in their backs, they might eventually accept the fact they are out of a job.
While it may have been a messy, regrettable ordeal with imcompetencies on behalf of both the management and the union, I fail to see a case for malicious betrayal on the part of the IAM.

Jester, speak for yourself, If Cream wants to speak let him speak dont speak for him. From what I hear people are upset they didnt bid enough stations and some are upset they bid too many stations (ie) PHL. Now people face the Dilemma of either tranfering to PHL or being terminated.

ChockJockey,

My bad, sometimes I forget we are the same person, right? I have heard plenty of Ends Justifying the Means on this board over the years, so what you may call "shameful" others would call it "necessary" under some grand scheme. If you recall, it has been stated many times by the ND08 Team how Boss Canale rigged the election in PHX to get the T.A. to pass. To suggest there is not vote rigging, I am shocked, shocked to find that no vote rigging is going on in here!

What you fail to see a "malicious betrayal," I see as depraved indifference to the West by the Easties' IAM on the transfer bidding, along with other matters. Let the word go forth that if these furlough shoes had been on the feet of PHL and CLT the resulting hue and cry from the bad information on the bid transfers as communicated by the IAM would have created a "blip" on the tower's radar screen during the shouting that something would have been done to rectify the problem. Instead, well, it's just the West guys, so "IAM Screwed" becomes the their new mantra.

So Meditates Jester.

Folks, please go back & re read the board rules top of forum before posting.
I guess I missed it.

Oh I see what you did there. I thought you were directly inferring that the CLT locals were indeed rigged, sans evidence. Maybe we should have sent observers.

I guess I am not familiar with what specifically happened in order to understand who are directly responsible for the critical errors that occurred. From what I'd thought I'd heard there were discrepancies and inconsistencies coming from both the union and from management in regards to what supposed to happened with the whole furlough situation in LAS...

What ideally should have happened?

So they put PHL on their list and got PHL and now they are upset that they were awarded PHL??? I give up.

Anyhoo, what stations were awarded other than PHL?

OK,
so last thursday I take my 30 min break from work and ride over to the union hall and vote. its now monday and haven't heard a peep
about the results anybody here have a clue as to whats going on . O-man whats the deal . You push everyone to get out and vote but yet we don't even know who won the freakn election.
Blownknees, I believe the official results just came out on mon. Some of the closer races had to be recounted, and yes fleet did have an observer there for that count. You cant put out results until they are official. I spoke with someone on the grievance cmtte, and he said they will be in the break-rooms on wed, to brief on the elections. I believe MB (grievance cmtte) works t-1 on mon and tues, Im sure he will tell you about the election, if you wanted news before wednesday. A big thank you to all fleet who came out last thursday and cared enough to vote.

Still wish IAM would come out of its shell and pay the extra $$ and have a phone vote run by an independent source!! Get away from the paper/pencil ballots that have to be hand counted!! With all those commuting and the wacky work schedules, it would seem the best way to run an election?

I realize that somewhere that is written in the bylaws where it is not allowed, but then again who knows what the results would be with an impartial judge overseeing the election process?

Majority was PHL, DCA and 1 CLT, 1 PHX, and about 1 or 2 people to other field stations like, DEN, DFW, TPA, MIA Im sure there is more just dont have them in front of me. some people didnt bid enough vacancy cities so they will be furloughed I feel for them. Jester can you tell us whats going on in PHX with the lead positions that are suppose to be openings? fill us in on your station why does the company constantly upgrade TLs daily instead of posting it system wide for bid?

Perhaps Cream Corn could fill us in on who got what. Other than PHL, the other cities don't look bad. MIA supposedly has some areas around the airport where a wrong turn could result in a bullet ripping through the gray matter. I've been looking at apartments around Wilmington, DE on the rental sites and that looks like a nice area to live if you are working at PHL. Affordable, for the most part.

Have it from the PHX GC that the first arbitration case in regards to the attendance policy is being heard today in PHL...

this must be one of those signs .... you know , that the world is coming to an end ...

I know of at least one LAS woman to BWI, and I apologise in advance. Not that I could do anything about it...

I'll try to tally the list tomorrow for LAS and get some good numbers.

Word is...... that the company refused to hear the case in an arbitration settting and gave our AGCs everything they asked for. This is the perfect step in the Right Direction Keep it up boyz!!! bring them all back
