Thanks for the info.

I saw somewhere a proposal for 2% of monthly base pay, is that still the only proposal going forward?

As hot button of a topic that dues always is, I'd expect alot of changes/ammendments before the final product is revealed.
The district slate addresses this issue in detail. Probably better for you to review for yourself

Randy has discussed this issue and gave his opinion. My understanding is that he mentioned once the wrinkles are ironed out we would have it (that's my understanding but not his exact words, watch his video for explanation)

I agree, if the new direction is for democracy you would think they would be for it. The problem I'm having with the new direction is that they are not committing their beliefs on any of these issues, nor offering any issues and how they would resolve them if elected. We are voting next week and their website comical take against the districts slate is entertaining but not the way I want my officers to behave when dealing with my livelyhood.
How would you prefer your officers behave? Like our current ones do?

Sneaky, underhanded, manipulative, self serving and more concerned about themselves than the membership.

Our only chance at a fair future with representation is to vote

THE NEW DIRECTION

One thing Rich does stand for is the fact that since Randy lost his veto power on the BOD he should have

resigned himself from the bod . But since he refused to do that and enjoys his BOD royalty check it tells me where his bread is

buttered. Remember Randy KNEW BEFORE going into PHX to NEG our last POS rag that UA was knocking at the door BUT still

layed down to Uncle AL on the COC . THAT to me shows his true colors , that and the fact that he LIED to my membership

at our local last year.

This is the 21 century millions of people bank and carry out electronic transactions everyday. RC can't manipulate the results of an electronic vote so therefore he doesn't want it.
Hey, I'm all for it. Should have been many years ago. Just to set the facts straight, this issue is not a district issue. It's much higher up than Randy. Even if Delaney and team are at the helm, it will still be an unresolved issue at the grand lodge level. That's the level you need to address that issue. Not everything is Randys fault. You guys give him way too much credit.

Echkin,
Your absoulutely correct . 1 step at a time.. I hope Mr Roach is watching this closely . He could be next.

Listen to what he says on the issue. He is so out of touch its unreal and he has no credibility with me what so ever.

UA is not only knocking on every airlines door, they now are standing on the street corners. Randy has stated openly that he opposes the merger between our airlines, and why he opposes. What has Delaney stated on this issue besides a cartoon drawing of an airplane? The pilots union from both sides openly oppose it as well as all other union groups.

I have followed the BOD issue. The presence of a seat on the BOD guarantees a little supervision, voice, and fair representation for all stakeholders (above all employees) There's much more to it than voting. That's why our pilots have one also and DL demanded before they would consider any merger. Which I see they won that with NW. That was the deal breaker between UA/DL. UA denied them a seat.
Delaney's position until last week or so was that it was a "useless perk" that would be the first thing he would throw away. FOR NOTHING! (great negotiating skill) He has since wavered on that belief and now says he will appoint some one else to sit on the BOD. My feeling is if he wins the election, he will waver again and end up sitting himself.

I expect my officers to behave in the proffesional manner like our current ones do. I believe you should never forget where you come from and try to be something your not. I am a steward at a station that has 3 terminations pending. Our AGC has been at our beck and call. Good news today, 2 jobs saved, still waiting on the other. I have never experienced at the district level anything sneaky or underhanded but get plenty of it from our station manager. Something to ponder, when did we turn against each other instead of uniting together against the company?

oncearound,

Just thought I'd share some thoughts on the election coming up. Us "westies" have been told in the past that it doesn't matter how we vote, because CLT and PHL rule. Well that didn't hold true with the TA. We joined together and our voice was heard. I believe that will happen with the district election also. CLT and PHL are old, bitter, employees and will buck the system any time they can. They consistently screw themselves. They have a hand full of members who post defamatory information here every day. Should we, "westies" buy into this slander that is posted by these bitter old "east" guys? I think not. We have one man we trust, Ron Roth, from PHX. Ron has worked with the district guys for two years now. Ron has the insight we don't, to know who has our best interest in mind. He has joined the ticket of current district officers. I trust Ron to lead us in the right direction. Together they have negotiated a contract in this crappy economic state that has put more money in our pocket. Keep in mind while they did this, other airlines are filing bankruptcy, going out of business, and asking for pay concessions. I say we keep the guys who have brought us this far. I say we listen to Ron, follow his lead, and show those crusty guys in CLT and PHL who really rules our airline!

Facts about RR.
1. Ran for office with Linda Malone.
2. Management at US West admitting sitting on other side of Union during negotiations.
3. Management at America West for 2-3 years.
4. Admitted having no part of negotiations, Canale ran the show.
5. Let Canale put west employees into payscale slower than east employees. For instance, a 21 year PHX guy makes $17.10/hour while a 12 year TPA guy makes $19.00/hour.

Hey, the list goes on. I commend RR for the effort he has made to make things better but I don't follow him for reasons above plus many more.

Ask any true Union guy or gal out there if they would ever back ex-management and you would get a resounding, hell no , WTF are you thinking.

On the dues issue, both slates are against. The difference is the pro district supporters are attending to make their voice heard a strong no to increases. The Delaney slate is boycotting it due to facing conflict.

electronic balloting? Should have been many years ago, all sides can agree to that.
Where did you hear that Canale is against the big dues increase? Unless I missed something on his video, he sounded like he encouraged the structure to be changed. Also, he sits on the IAM INTL Law committee which is advocating the change. Please show me where Randy Canale came out and said he doesn't want the dues to be doubled or placed at 2%? Did he put out a new video?

When you put the time in you could call them old, when you give up what they have given up you can call them bitter....

P. Rez did not say that. He was quoting someone called Oncearound. Thats the way he disputes someones post. He puts what they

post in another color at the top and then replies underneath.

It's the same video. I never heard the words increase, doubled, or placed at 2%. I agree he sounded like he encouraged the structure to be changed. The reasons he stated was that it's not fair for those at the bottom of the pay scale to pay the same as those topped out. I'm thinking because the rule of thumb use to be 2 times your hourly wage and somehow that's not happeninmg.

He may sit on the IAM INTL law committee which is advocating the change but he is openly stating in his video as our president of DL141 that no changes can be made without our vote. That's why he is a strong proponent to get as many voting members out to the convention so all our voices will be heard. Isn't that what democracy is all about? It's up to the membership. In my opinion, those that advocate not participating or boycotting are taking the easy way out and have no backbone, or set, or whatever.
