IAM Fleet Service topic 9/14-9/27

I believe our biggest fear when negotiations come to fruition and the possibility of a strike comes, is contract employees, the IAM needs to start soon on getting contract workers to become union employees these are the people who need the unions. They get paid less than we do, have very little or no flight benies and very limited medical. I believe it would be easier for the IAM to organize these employees than it would be to organize another DELTA. If we do strike the company cant just go out an hire off the street corner there are background checks, training, and many other things. Its very important that we organize ramp agents like swissport, this is also what the company uses to outsource our stations for a very cheap price. If we organize these contract employees it may also be harder for the company to outsource our field stations.

Those magic blankets work wonders!

Did the Charter issue get resolved?
As far as the charter issue, PHL ramp is ready to shut the whole damn place down!!! Once again, we continue to get disrespected!!!! Corporate US should not take the new LEADERSHIP litely!!!!

MIGHT be ? MIGHT be ? what world are you living in ... this IS the financial disaster .... the one i told you was coming months upon months ago .... ...

This is my last non-union/ Fleet related response to you..........

" Don't ask for something if it's a burden to ya if ya get it.
Tempe has been feeding ya dogs..t! Been telling ya it's Cream of Wheat
! "

Think about it

Swissport & WorldWide Flight services are both union.

In fact, IIRC, Swissport is IAM....

I"m assuming that since the subject has not been brought up that nothing
was done at the GL conv concerning voting methods.

Also on the vote for the dues change did anyone call for a roll call vote?

Associated Press - September 18, 2008 3:34 PM ET

PHOENIX (AP) - US Airways President Scott Kirby says he feels "pretty good" about paying for new aircraft despite the financial meltdown on Wall Street.
Kirby told investors Thursday at a conference in New York that the Tempe-based airline already has financing agreements in place for its aircraft, and it has no near-term financing needs when it comes to planes.

He added that the pressure to raise cash has diminished as oil prices dropped from their peak of nearly $150 a barrel.

However, Kirby says US Airways will continue charging fees for checked bags, sodas and other in-flight services. $$$$$$$$$$$$$ forever!

"Choo...Choo.." right back at you.

Education/Education/Education!!!

Time to educate the masses for the next 3-4yrs...........

only certain divsion are union. Fleet swissport out west is non-union however swissport fueling is. Very weird

Hey HP,
do you guys have airtran out there in las.. the IAM is trying to make a move on

organizing that group.

mike ,
PM me with when you BF are arriving in JAX.. definitely want to buy you boys a beer or

corona or whatever you westie surfer / skiers burnouts drink 😀 😀 😀 😀

?? has anyone seen or heard from PJ the little irish man lately. I'm getting worried

AirTran in LAS is done by a contractor. I think it's DGS, but it might be WFS or Signature.

From accounts of Delegates the roll call vote was called for but the person was deemed out of order. Buffy had the vote by voice or general consent "yeas and nays". This was challenged, but Buffy got his way.
Most Delegates carried multiple votes so a vote by voice was inappropriate.
The vote to get rid of the Internationals "private jet" also failed.

Thanks, I will bring my favorite BLANKET! You know it is the one with some stains on it.
GS is not going to the district convention unless it's on his own dime. BB won't have anything to do with him and the membership doesn't want him to go.

What you'ze don know is that BB does want GS there and was doin it on the locals dime.
He is still tryin to get him there, jus not on his guest pass.

Dirty Deals?

I have a hard time believing GS will be anyone's guest. If so then I'm sure Timmy Nelson will let us know who the idiot is who invites him. Nelson, it's time for a report, where ya been?

Joey,
Find that hard to believe. BB is a much smarter man than that. He's been burned by GS one too many

times.
