I heard the fng who asked about your 'do thought you were a museum relic?
No not "old" just "old school" and kind of stuck in my ways. You know the story.

FNG: How long have you worked here?
JD: Quite a while.
FNG: How long?
JD: Almost 24 years.
FNG: Have you had that same hair cut the whole time?

FNG had about a weeks worth of senority and a set.

Ya, and his best buddy RR is running for the CLT Grievance Committee opening. Did you know that the Belly Warmer stays over at RR's house all the time.
For almost a year no one saw him anywhere. After he lost so horribly in the last election he did not even try to represent the membership as a shop steward. He signed up for the safety committee, but did absolutely nothing. Now he is back in the breakrooms shaking hands and kissing babies.
Because of this the CLT managers have told the ramp director that Grievance Committee looks like they don't have any work and should go back to the ramp.

God help us!

CB
B. Kline will be getting my vote and I will encourage everyone I know to do likewise.

I am with Joe on this one. The best thing that could happen at this point is for RR to go ahead and withdraw from the election, announce his support for the new direction and work for the betterment of the workgroup.

I tell you someone else I haven't see in a while is "O"s little leprechaun buddy.

hey thanks for the warm greetings back to mainline O man! I got to admit it is great to be back in a union and at mainline. Wonder if freedom cant wait til the day they get outsourced and may be some cheap suite outfit like EN would pick them up and rehire them for a measly 8 bucks an hr and le it take 10 yrs to see 14.00 bucks an hr with chickensh!t benefits that you cant use at the doc office!!! Freedom USAIR would have had no choice but to come back and get better contract with better scope language whether you want to believe it or not. Boeing got raises and yes the economy is in the tanks now. So explain how that is and how Express Jet pays very well with good benes and CO does that too along with SWA while "the economy is bad" Wait may be on second thought it be better not to hear your explanation!!

i know i should let it go , but i can't stand to see wrong thinking, so to speak ....

that USAIR that you speak of was run by our America west management , if we had not signed the contract in march , they would have dragged the process on and on and on , because as every former America west worker knows , that's just how they play ball ..

As to your point about Boeing .... those workers are far more skilled than we are , and had we done as many on this message board wanted , waiting until dec 31st 2009 to strike , it would have been CAKE for this company to replace the vast majority of us in a heart beat .... unemployment is expected to be around 9% at the end of 2009 accord to most economists .

you can wonder what if all you like and think about the steel workers and Boeing , but the steel workers are already laying off workers ... and we aren't Boeing .

you can at least take solace that we did away with the 60 day rule and in the end got raises for the majority of our workers .

Yeah you may have done away with that so called 60 day rule--only to screw the east folks anyhow you got your raise but you might as well enjoy it now cuz it aint gonna last and when the company closes those westie cities, i aint going to feel for you. That 60 day rule applied to the east and you know it. There was NO EXCUSE for that to begin with. I also mentioned Express Jet, CO and SWA all get HIGHER WAGES than USAIR does. GO figure out why they got higher wages than we do? They have MGMT that WORKS with their employees NOT AGAINST THEM AS USAIRWAYS DOES. Yes this airline would have to come back with a better contract and they should have come up with it better contract you know it I know it and everyone else knows it. It would have costed them a lot more to replace us in the short and long term. Just wait til you are outsourced you will find out the hard way

wrong again there Jerry ,

Uncle Al . Donna P , Ron H. are all old usairways dinosaurs not the 20 something kids that made up

the old HP crowd. You should educate yourself on the players involved in your future

as far as wrong thinking there jer maybe you should take the time to go back and reread your contradictions

and flip flop post of say the last year . talk about wrong thinking .. that was just not thinking at all

side note: calling out all leprechauns where have you been .

Freedom, with the exception of the pilots NO HP employee went through renegotiations with the Company. You're right that it's beneficial for the Company if they drag it out, but once you're in traditional negotiations it's much harder to pull off. Initial negotiations are absolutly no comparison. And you weren't even hear then so HTF do you think you can refer to it?

Man, if you know how to turn out 7500 employees through a month long background and a two week class after, and have the airline actually run well right after... Dude, seriously, either stop drinking or START!

Solace in losing the 60 day rule. I can agree. Got raises for the majority? I can agree. But at what cost? By voting for that contract you've fired something like 700 workers in 18 (or was it 11) cities. When they have furloughs in PHX I'm going to have GREAT fun at YOUR expense. But hey, like you said moths ago, your job safe.

Yes at what cost ?

and what is the cost of the unknown ? Had we not voted this in , where might we be TODAY ?

i feel that today we might be here .....

Freedom
" great going guys , geez why did we vote down that contract in march!!! it provided raises for all of us , althou not that much for the east coast class one cities , at least you would have got something!!!!! and it would have saved all of our brothers and sisters who were thrown under the bus with the 60 day rule ... but nooooo you had to vote it down , and how are we here in the west suppose to survive on our TWU wages eh ? what am i suppose to buy my family for Christmas , a sock and a loaf of bread! , you freaking moron's !!!!! look at us now , the company has walked away from talks , and now it looks like we will have to wait until 20 freaking 09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah you said "we will strike in 09 " un huh ! like any of you will have the balls to walk out on this job in todays economy , freaking unemployment is rising by the day !!! i'd have quit already and gotten a new job , but nooo i can't find anyone hiring now , and so i'm stuck making XYZ crappy TWU wages an hour !!!!!!! GREAT job!!! you really showed them !!! i'm sure AH is running scared wooooooooohhhhh the baggage handlers are angry and gonna strike in late 09 .... yeah , that's if we're even here at that time .... <_< "

and so we avoided such a fate , and thank goodness ...

I got more balls to walk out if needed than you got to just meet and express your views to someone face to face and learn something of unionism

MC and NH will be there on monday. Talk to them on some factual views, not something you know nothing about. Lets see if you got balls...........

Economy or not....it won't cost you a dime.....no $ no foul.

there's no need for me to express my views in public mike ... if i hear them addressing the work group i'll definitely try and be there to hear what they have to say .. but no matter what they say , i stand behind them .. i'm against the sick policy , so whatever they want to do is in all actuality fine by me . i know their going to fight it and i want them to fight it ... it's unfair , it's a violation of our contract , and it has our workers afraid to call in sick ... not to mention the complete absurdity of it all ... the LEAST this company could have done was knock all the workers down a notch in discipline ... i mean geeeez it's not like we're even getting 100% for when we call in sick , and their going to punish us MORE ? i want this in court ASAP , because i can see a clear win for us .

but yeah , i don't have a problem with the new leadership , Ron Roth is a part of it , and the new guys seem proactive ....

Thats where ur wrong. I express my views everyday. I don't hide behind a keyboard. You'll always be taken advantage of by corporate greed if you don't .

I guess you must like getting told " this is how it is and I don't care what ur contract says"

no one except AH likes the sick policy , what more is there to say other than "i'll see you in court"
Where we will win or get arbitration that heavily favors us , putting the company in a worse case in either scenario .. if they were smart they'd scrap this and sit down and have a heart to heart with our people ... but the courts could work to our advantage ....

As far as shutting down the operation over the sick policy ... i don't feel that's something that we should do ... like i said , i think we will come out WAY ahead in court or arbitration , so i see no need for any sort of action that might make us look bad in court or arbitration ... we should walk in there pure as snow and say LOOK AT WHAT THEIR DOING TO US!!! .. and don't forget , it's going to be a LABOR FRIENDLY administration next year !
