There is no more redeye out of SAN. So I'll be taking the morning Flt.
I'll have to be content with seeing Redeye and not flying "redeye".

well to be honest redeye's not much to look at but his wife is a hottie.

plus she has a personality .. something redeye sometimes has and sometimes not.. (ouch)

I better watch myself . can't wait to meet you . are you bringing the surfer burnout with you.

I guess having Larry Craig lurking here, as opposed to
some other yet more seedy venue, is progress. It's
OK to post anything here including foot tapping. Welcome!

Freedom, are you sleeping with Parker AND Roth? The statement was made that Roth never had a safety commitee and you say that's not entirely correct, followed by glowing praise for the man, and no support to your statement. Was there or was there not a safety commitee? As far as you can remember? How long have you been with the Company? How is Ron responsible for getting everyone at AWA a "living wage"? Was he an unforgotten part of the TWU negotiating commitee? Or was he responsible for getting everyone that got geo differental a pay cut?

The lav juice is for filling lav tanks with. It's not to drink.

lol he didn't write that, it's too well written and there are no glaring misspellings. It's just frightening there is someone else with the same distorted views

That’s not entirely correct rat tales …. Ron is stepping down as station chair after having served in the position for at least the last 4 years … I’d like to thank Ron for all of his hard work … and if my memory serves me right he will still be staying on in some capacity for the larger organization … From almost as far back as I can remember the man, he was always helping people out , on his breaks he’d be dashing around from break room to break room with his paper work personally talking to anyone who had any questions or needed his help in any union capacity … heck he’d even be out on the ramp in 110 degrees plus doing both his ramp job and fielding any questions the workers had …He was literally superman . I have never see any union rep work so hard or show such steadfast dedication to the union or our cause .

That man was more than a one man band , he was a force of nature …. In a right to work state he took people I never believed would ever come to care about union issues and imbued his passion , his fire if you would and made them stalwart ! Those of us here from America west airlines would not today enjoy a livable wage if it were not for that man! Ron you took our union , a disorganized and demoralized group of individuals and like an artist you formed us into a stronger mass …. Like some demigod you reached deep inside of us and vanished our seemingly eternal hopelessness ,replacing an ever darkening future with a light so radiant that no one could ever doubt there was an end to our tunnel .

When others faltered , when others gave up hope , Ron Roth stayed the course ,in my mind there could have been no better captain to our ship … When he dealt with this company I never had any doubt as to his power , he was his own force …. He could see through the companies stall tactics and lies , and he was never afraid to take action when it was required …. Many a time he came close to losing his job , and this company would have liked nothing more than to have eliminated him , but each time they tried he rebounded , and came back stronger than ever …His bravery was like that of Geronimo .His fearlessness inspired others …

No matter what he does in the future , no matter where he goes , his name will be spoken of for years to come on our ramp… and he will always be remembered fondly .

Thank you Ron Roth for all that you have done for us .

Must...take...another...shower......Still...feel...dirty.... 🙁

Thank you Chris Lenzi and Pat Rezler for stepping up in PHX when others didn't. I've disagreed with both of these gents in the past but they command respect and offer leadership and a thorough knowledge of labor.

Attendance policy update for District 141 members at US AIRWAYS & IAM Contract Interpretation that subjects such policy changes to negotiaitons

Your company is attempting to broaden its dragnet with further restrictions to bring in an additional huge % of workers onto the 'probationary ice' otherwise known as 'initial discussion'. "Key union leaders" have shared this with me and have told me that your company is attempting to 'bait' the ramp and ticket unions into giving management what it wants. I have been told that Canale already told them it was fine with him, but Canale's being thrown out of office tomorrow and will have his authority 'stripped' by the membership.

Explicitly, management wants to reduce sick liberties down to 3 occurances per year as opposed to 4. In return, your management is proposing to reduce level 3 durations down to 12 months instead of 18 months and to add another occurance in the level 2 step.

However, penalizing members at the front end, by enhancing the probation level [initial discussion] will sweep in a far greater % of members. And once on probation, it's all 'thin ice' after that. In reality, there is little difference between a 12 month or 18 month level 3 since practically nobody on level 3 will achieve perfect attendance in a 12 month period. The thin ice will melt and folks will have to walk on water to survive.

Secondly, and more importantly, your company should have addressed this during traditional negotiations. However, your company has not had to participate in traditional negotiations under the Canale regime. That's right, not in this century has your company participated with fleet service in traditional negotiations.
IMO, there will be an immediate grievance filed over these further restrictions of the sick policy. If it becomes a dispute and management is hellbent on sticking to its new policy, then any grievance award will assumably ask for all disciplinary given out from December 1st onward to be stricken from the personnel files. If an arbitration takes a couple years then this may mean hundreds of workers coming back to work with full back pay if it is shown that the discipline was done in violation of the fleet service contract. Also may mean that all discipline for everyone will be eliminated if it was done by changing the policy in violation of the fleet service continuity language.

FWIW: The continuity language in article 1 is the contention. Remember, the company has jurisdiction over its policies, but it is subject to the terms of your agreement. Such terms, IMO and others, violate "the continuation of reasonable working conditions". That 'continuity' language is normal and customary in most labor contracts and prevents companies from changing its policies in unreasonable ways which adversely affect the quality of work life at a particular company. Time will tell.

FWIW, the TWU executive board pursued a point system while I was in office and the company told us to come back in section 6 if we wanted to change the attendance. I will testify in the arbitration to this.

I told you DoUgIes wife and Freedom are the same! Roth wanted all the power and did not form a full Committee like the Contract calls for. Because of this, he was so buried in issues that the membership suffered. We have no more tolerance for power hungry people like that.

Only 2.5 hours till party time. Those who will be stepping down were in the front of the hotel sobbing and patting each other. There will be a lot of sobbing at the bar tonight.

rat tales, do us a favor and give the sobbers the business like they have bent over the rank and file for years

Has anyone filed a grievance on this new attendance policy yet? I just went through the training in ilearning today.

On a side note, can someone from FLL PM me, preferably a lead?

Does the New Direction Team actually take over tomorrow? Or do they take over at a future date? If it is a future date, what exact day is it supposed to be?
