OK, I'll be the first. Tim, what are you going to do about your refusal to sign a confidentiality agreement in negotiations if the company demands it? Since you're speaking in absolutes I can only assume that situation would mean a refusal on your part to negotiate.

Buffalo employees were escorted out on December 21 by Corporate Security and a few managers from around system because the company was afraid the four original Union stations would try something over the holidays. What a class act. By the way on January 12, tomorrow the Company and IAM are suppose to meet in Manhattan for an Arbitration due to the fact that BUF, IND,and MSY shouldn't have been farmed out till after April, per the contract. Of course all three steps were shot down by the company. Another little tidbit of info from the Union...supposedly Parker gave a gentlemens agreement and handshake that no one will be layed off during negotiations.

Has anyone heard what the outcome of the arbitration was. Did we win , lose, or draw

Just found out about arbitration case...You'll love this..All of this pertains to fleet in IND,MSY,BUF,SNA AND OAK. From what I heard the lawyer for the IAM didn't think the Union would win the case that these 5 stations shouldn't be shut down till after the April 2012 tally, so the IAM cancelled the arbitration. Instead the lawyer heard that the guys in BUF were going to a local lawyer because the company wasn't putting in pension money for severance pay and sick time, which they should have. The IAM lawyer took this to the company instead and supposedly won a settlement on this, however, he didn't get everything. This is what he got...and pass the word to everyone in these five cities...the company will put into the pension 600hrs (the time from January 9,2012 to April 2012) which works out to about $30 a month more when you retire and the company will pay anyone that relocated $500 more, but they have to send the forms into the company. The union lawyer didn't get pension money for sick time, which if you cashed in 150 days would give you the 1600 hours needed for another $80 a month. So in the end we lose again. $50 a month sure would have come in handy at retirement, especially since its owed to you, but I guess the Union didn't think so. Any other questions contact Rich Delaney.

exramper thanks for the update all I can say is unbelievable, I really have to seriously question why am I paying dues for representation that we are not getting

I should go back four years and copy what I posted about the "No Direction Team" in 2008, and how I was called-out by many (who have since slinked back into the cyber shadows) because I predicted general incompetcy would ensue, but I was actually wrong... it isn't just ineptness from former bag mashers attempting to insightful, shrewed professionals, but a blantant indifference and hostile neglect of the very membership who not only pay their six-figure salaries, but gave them the power to be in charge our union!

Has there been any public explanation as to the union's legal opinion as to the weakness of the challenging the Company's downsizing prior to the generally assumed April 2012 date? I think, we as the membership, are owned that much, as it hardly should be highly confidential as the Company legal experts have explained their reasons to the union leadership. The sad irony of the BUF case is that one of the selling points to having an union is that it allows individual workers to have access to professional legal and financial opinions on matters which effect their job, but yet, the FSAs in BUF were forced to hire their own attorneys because the IAM attorneys failed to properly represent those displaced workers.

Personally, I think the settlement was rather weak as there is a de facto admission those agents were entitled to some additional pension benefits as if they worked those 600 hours, but how about some wages which would be part of those 600 hours? The IAM attorneys jumps back-in after surrendering without a fight when the outside attorneys were making progress, and then agrees for a less than satisfying resolution. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

We sorely need new leadership!

Since both of you along with a few others ( and I say a few, because many of you have 3 & 4 different avatars on here, and like to talk to yourself ) could both of you tell the members that read this, that you have first hand information on this arbitration case, or is it second or third hand information that you choose to get on here and try to inform the membership? Just wanting to know, since you put down people for doing a job. Surely you wouldn't be a hypocrite and post or comment on incorrect, or second hand info, would you??

And speak of a "slinking" Devil... recall from a few years ago the YouTube video I presented to you of Charlie Brown attempting to kick a football only to have Lucy yank away the football? "Lucy" is your IAM after you thought No Direction Team was the solution to what ails this union. Here's a reminder... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlzVDDSfeeA

But alas, let us not discuss the matter as to the apathy and torpescence of our union "leadership" but instead, let us focus on who on this board may have multiple avatars... best of my memory, I think I am also Chock Jockey, Freedom, and Cream Horn Pastry, but may you correct me if I am someone else, as well?

You want proof or evidence of the general malfeasance by the No Direction Team after nearly 4 years of "leadership"? How's that attendance policy coming? How are those premature station closings coming along? How did that Hawaiian Airline agreement for FSA go? How did the NWA/Delta union vote go? How's the United FSAs contract coming along? Will the IAM reimburse the BUF agents who had to hire their own labor attorney because the IAM attorney failed to represent them from the beginning? You want "first hand" insider proof of events which transpired, but ignore the public failures all around you!

So Reminds Jester.

You seem a little defensive my friend!!!! Please answer my question to my previous post, on whether you are responding to first hand info or not. You are asnswering my question with questions of your own! Which is not a answer. I will be glad to answer your questions, but as the saying goes " I asked you first" . And as for your avatars, I don't know, or care , who all you are on here, I was just stating a fact, that several people on here have different avatars. I didn't say you did!! And let me say, I agree with a lot of your post in the past, it's just a lot of people on here like to put down the current leadership, while with their own post are either giving intentional wrong information, or intentionally misleading information. Which to me is being a "hypocrite". Again not saying you are. Just tell the members where you get your first hand information from, so you can correctly critisize the leadership on the arbitration case.

We are familiar with your gut feelings.

Wasn't US supposed to be out of business by now?

This may also be good news for agents in Pit. who lost there jobs in mar. 2011. The company said it would not pay anything towards to the IAM pension for the 15wk. severance.

I got an idea "Charlie Brown" since I know you well, I think a very important and respectful thing to do is for you and MF and myself to offer to the CLT membership the chance of a local debate, maybe behind the piano up in the conference rooms. The room charge would be on me as a kind gesture for your hospitality. My presumption of course is that you will end up being on Delaney's ticket. It is my presumption though as I base that on your slanted writings on this web page that seem to intentionally hold back from your membership alot of profane things that Delaney has done that will give them a clearer picture of how his and the ND leadership has been an exercise in futility. If your name will not be on Delaney's ballot then I still think a debate between myself and MF would do.

So, consider this a debate challenge, and I think our District members in CLT need it to be in person. I think a friendly debate over district housekeeping matters would be beneficial to YOUR membership and also will unpack for your members alot of things. It will also give you a plug to share with your membership how Delaney has done such a great job.

Charlie, Call Delaney, ask him, I have
Actually, all of us got Rich's arbitration position 'first hand' from Delaney himself in the latest messenger, when he quite clearly told all of us, ".. fast tracking the arbitration since your company moved prrematurely on the closure [his words not mine].

I happen to know some IND and BUF workers who we will have on video on our website www.Occupyiam141.com telling "firsthand" what happened as it is always much better to have them tell their own story instead of someone in CLT who supports Delaney, or myself who oppose Delaney.
