Just found out about arbitration case...You'll love this..All of this pertains to fleet in IND,MSY,BUF,SNA AND OAK. From what I heard the lawyer for the IAM didn't think the Union would win the case that these 5 stations shouldn't be shut down till after the April 2012 tally, so the IAM cancelled the arbitration. Instead the lawyer heard that the guys in BUF were going to a local lawyer because the company wasn't putting in pension money for severance pay and sick time, which they should have. The IAM lawyer took this to the company instead and supposedly won a settlement on this, however, he didn't get everything. This is what he got...and pass the word to everyone in these five cities...the company will put into the pension 600hrs (the time from January 9,2012 to April 2012) which works out to about $30 a month more when you retire and the company will pay anyone that relocated $500 more, but they have to send the forms into the company. The union lawyer didn't get pension money for sick time, which if you cashed in 150 days would give you the 1600 hours needed for another $80 a month. So in the end we lose again. $50 a month sure would have come in handy at retirement, especially since its owed to you, but I guess the Union didn't think so. Any other questions contact Rich Delaney.
