Didn't hear anything from CVG but I can tell you TPA should be a strong
''NO'' to Canale. They sent agroup up to the PHL meeting in Oct. when we all
walked out on Canale....they flew up just to walk out on him. Canale wasn't
going down to them so they came up here to show thier displeasure. Once
again Randy showing his contempt for our work group.....Bye, you have definitely
over stayed your welcome.

Thanks

It amuses me that the discussion of the "New Direction Team" has been on this forum for quite some while but only in the past week or so has "Team 2008" started with newbies such as "The Shocker" and "District Force". This only leads me to believe that they are desperate at this point to get votes for Canale and his slate of followers. They are seeking the votes of someone who might be riding the fence. If you are on this fence, please look at what has happened to the members under his regime. Yes, the airline industry changed with 9/11 but has rebounded back to the point of millions of profits. Yet they bring us another concessionary contract , yes I know that there was a small pay raise..more for our west guys...but look at everything you would be giving up for a short term cure to cash flow.

Can the New Direction Team bring us everything that we want in a short period of time? I doubt that anything will happen quick but we will know that they won't present us with another contract that they know we will vote down or try to have shoved up our a%%%s.

Remember that we are all in this together ...East and West.. and we deserve what we are worth to this company as well as every other labor group that has bleed with us. It is time to get all the Canale's out of every union and stand up to the MBA'S playing in the sandbox in Tempe.

O-man may be in a good mood but I am not.

I took a look at the so called "Team 2008" propaganda page and it has the look and smell of desperation all over it. History is full of groups that were experts at the use of propaganda but inevitably their lies and half truths were seen for exactly what they were and they eventually disappeared. The same will hold true for Canale and his self serving bunch of Goebbel wannabe's.

Members be prepared. Team 2008 is ready.
Merger talks between United Airlines and Continental Airlines Inc have picked up pace, but a deal still hinges on the outcome of discussions between Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines Corp, people briefed on the situation said.

"We have been through de-regulation, multiple bankruptcies and previous industry consolidations. Our strength is our solidarity, and our solidarity will see us through whatever lies ahead."

- Randy Canale 2/6 Letter to membership

On this site we choose to put out factual information for the members to read unlike other sites who choose to put out incorrect and misleading information to union members to serve their own political agenda. The facts are that in the upcoming election the main topics will most likely be a merger and negotiating new contracts. Randy Canale as stated above has been a proven leader through bankruptcies and consolidations. A merger is a potential threat to our job security. At this point it is still being speculated which airline would be the surviving carrier. Regardless Canale has the experience and knowledge to protect jobs, wages and benefits if this should occur.

Rich Delaney and the No-Direction Team has no experience at all. Our jobs and livelyhood could be at stake, what is needed during these uncertain scenarios such as merger is someone who will give us a sense of security and has had proven experience to protect our jobs. The bottomline is that we work to make money, take care of our families with benefits, and job security to protect all union members, should a merger occur.

All this would be at risk under the leadership of Rich Delaney. The No- Direction Team under Delaney's leadership style is a destructive group motivating members through fear, greed and the desire for power, if continued unchecked it can only result in destruction of our future.

Huh?

Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is that Boss Canale is the one that made the NEW DIRECTION TEAM. in essence, the new direction team is witness to Randy Canale's dreadful and difficult track record with mergers. Exactly what has Parker's boy done with the US AIRWAYS/America West merger after 3 years?

Randy talks about solidarity but the only solidarity he has been able to muster is the solidarity that is coming to throw him out of office right on his arse. He continues to talk down to the masses and tell the masses that they have lost leverage in negotiations. Wasn't he the one who proclaimed last September, "This is the best I can do" in regards to the dreadful TA that was voted down by 87% of USAIRWAYS EAST????????
He would have been wise to retire so he could at least collect his 'IAM watch' and not take his whole ticket of eunichs down.

His ineptness, deceit, and experience at backroom deals is the very reason why the NEW DIRECTIONS TEAM has dominated all hubs at US AIRWAYS and the TWIN TOWERS of United. The members aren't stupid and this whole election isn't about Boss Canale's experience, but rather, what has the masses 'experienced' under Boss Canale's oppression. The masses are solid with great solidarity against The company and all the company men [insert Canale here].

He's the company's opium. A real company prick and the masses are going to enjoy coming for Boss Canale this June. He will get his reward......soon enough.
Labor men don't sign deals with the '60 day rule' in them. Unfortunately, Boss Canale has had 3 years to show us how he handles mergers and all he has to show is a sweetheart deal that the masses shoved right back up his arse.
Randy Canale is management. The membership is going to enjoy kicking him back up to management where he belongs.........soon enough.

Ron Roth was suspended for posting portions of the GOM in the union board case and trying to promote safety regulations. The company somehow considered his union position as conflict of interest when he would show solidarity and show up at our luncheons outside each day.

It was also perceived the union gave him a choice to "back off" the member activity or they couldn't necessarily prove reason to save his job.

Ron Roth (Phoenix IAM representative) is a Man among Men! He' trying to negotiate for us on the Fleet contract and he works his conx job when he is in Phoenix. He has not been afforded the privilege in over two years to work as our union rep without having to earn his own way first. The IAM and the company have always been uncomfortable with this. Ron has had to play a very sensitive (and we might say very well done) position with IAM He represents to Phoenix the only TRUE voice of the IAM protection with the unrelenting confusion of this Botched Merger.

(No one wants to touch is subject) But this MAN deserves due respect from East to West!

I would have thought that you would never post anything in a union board that was of company material in times like this, especially when negotiations are going on. The company can throw that back at you as " inciting something ". The smarter thing to do is to have " safety " meetings and read from the GOM.
Ron is in a delicate situation right now, I understand that, but you have to beat them at their own game. The thing that disturbes me is the union response.
sounds like the IAM doesn't have his back.........

UNION RIGHTS

Bulletin Boards

The Employer agrees to maintain space for Union bulletin boards under the
conditions upon which it was previously established to enable employees of the
Bargaining Unit to see materials posted thereon by the Union.

I would think that this would mean union business only. The company ( I think ) would consider it a posting of a work action of sorts. Just my opinion.

You have to be 10% smarter and 1 step ahead of the thing ur dealing with.......

It's deceptive to say the woes of US fleet are due only to 9/11, and none are due to Canale.

Compare where fleet was pre 9/11 vs. post- 9/11, and then compare where M&R was, vs. where they are.

Who went backwards more? Does M&R have the obscene 60 day rule? What percentage of M&R are on furlough, vs. what percentage of fleet?

Compare fleet at US with fleet at UA, DL, AA and NW. Who lost the most ground post 9/11?

Those are apples and apples comps, and Canale suffers by comparison.

46% of M&R was let go after the second chapter 11 case.

To Randy Canale,
although the network of solidarity has serious disagreements with you and Roth over worker issues, I trust that we agree that we should all support Roth back to work with full back pay BEFORE we even think of negotiating with this company.

Regardless, if we agree or disagree with our negotiators, our negotiators are in a sacred position not to be screwed with by the company. A suspension of one of them is a suspension of all. Randy, stop kissing the pinky of Al, stand behind your own, the network of solidarity would be with you on this if you ceased negotiations until the company recognizes not to screw with our negotiators. Until then, our members should get more angry and screw transition, screw investors, screw merger, everything screw. Let's get this done.

Agree with you on this one Tim. Randy should do the right thing but my question is will he? His track record has been not so good.
