What's new

New East A320 configuration.

I think we found the imbicile....see below........

I think you mean above.....your post.

Hey Bigbus....if you don't like the whining by the customers and fellow employees....take a hike. I'm sure your fine skill can be used elsewhere.

Walmart Greeter. Chik-Fila sandwich dresser. TacoBell burrito stuffer. I'm sure you're qualified for those jobs.

--------------------------------------------------------

Its afree country....try that outfit down the turn-pike....Let me know when you come back because of the (fares, service, amenities, schedule....whatever)

Were all the same...thats what you wanted, its what you got...live with it!

I liked US pre-merger and was fine paying more for a ticket. I paid $175 more than WN for my last ticket to fly on US, and got my preferred upgrade. I find that valuable as long as I have that upgrade and the free booze. The cabin reconfig is inconvenient, but probably won't make me leave. Can't beat a non-stop and slightly better seat with a free drink or two, or the US East people. That upgrade goes away, though, why not fly WN? And I do sometimes. But, as you say, that's my choice.

I think that the US management is going down the wrong road, but who am I to stop them? I'm just a customer who is no longer blindly booking at usairways.com for every single ticket without comparison shopping.

With every change, it's my prerogative to fly US or not. Companies changes, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. It happens. Sometimes it's a shame, and I think it's a shame what's going on here. I'm not going to be a WhineyBob and moan about the same things over and over again, and when I leave, I won't feel the need to hang around and still whine about it.

The fact of the matter is this: I'm willing to pay $100-200 more than WN to fly US Airways on my usual routing to Philadelphia because I know I'll almost always get an upgrade, I don't have to wait in line, etc. But when I start paying that much more than Southwest and still end up with a coach seat... with less legroom and service than Southwest... it stops being a smart buying decision. Haven't hit that point yet, and can hope that it doesn't come to that.

No I meant below, within the post 😀

And please....you actually think Walmart would hire that kind of attitude?? Even they have standards!!

How about the new thin divider up front in f/c where the galley was is NOW blocking the vaccume attachment so they cant sweep the carpets. Now, how many of these did they change and NEVER noticed that the legs are in front of the black box where you plug the hose in to clean. Absolute MORONS running the show. 🙄

OK, Just got home and have had time to digest this STUPID reconfiguration............................... ........................ .........sorry, i need a cocktail for this one.

Thank GOD I was senior enough to work the B postion. The person that made this decision shoukd be FIRED!! If the West configuration is different, the a/c should had been done the same on the East PERIOD!!!

1. There is NO place to put coats/jackets of crew or passengers. There are NO coathangers, and IF I'm not mistaken, the East certificate doesn't allow the coats to be hung anywhere except in the closets, which are GONE. We are getting new uniforms to squish in an overhead bin...nice. The passengers are outraged and unless you want your $400 suit wrinkled, you have to now hold your jacket. YES HOLD THEM!!

2. 2 and 1/2 bins for 12 people. Also, crew bags in the middle of ac is fine, but there is NO place for purses, manuals. This is a joke.

3. There is NO privacy in the front galley. I dont want everyone in fc watching me cook. I'm not f :censored: Martha Stewart and shouldn't be on display. I don't like to eat in front of passengers but now they all know your business. There isn't even a place for trashbags.

BUT ALAS, the company put in 3 magazine wracks. How thoughtful...for all those mags we have onboard. And you better make sue everything is latched up or the f/c pax in 1d will take it hard.

I am sick and tired of all the excuses I hear from the West on "well this or that" or "we do this and that". And the complaints that we are whining. Well STOP F :censored: up on simple decisions. JESUS CHRIST, a moron could make better decisions. Meanwhile, the WEST has a configuration that works. The WEST has glassware (old US ironically) on transcon. The WEST is allowed to serve the whole can first bev during meals (was right on the latest PHX, LAS section of the fa newsletter. Saw it with my own eyes. The WEST has freakin silver trays to serve on. AND I would be willing to bet that there is some place to at least put a freakin tote bag.

The reconfigured A320 is the most customer/employee UNFRIENDLY configuration I've seen.

SHAME ON DOUG PARKER FOR DOING THIS FOR 6 STUPID SEATS!!!!! Just chase away whats left of an already pissed off ff group...Oh but don't say anything, we shopuld all shut the hell up and be damn thankful AWA saved us. Well, friends, the way it's going, we won't be around long.

WAKE UP DOUG!!!!! This isn't about East/West!! This is about STUPIDITY!!!!!

I was so up with this new management team. NO MORE!! My public apology to longing 4piedmont. He is right. US Airways is on a collision course. It's not too late to change things.

We are doing everything on the cheap!! A F:censored: cheap ass airline. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!

Apology accepted. And please accept mine for being over the top and much too pointed in my responses to you and several others here. I was out of line as well. The senior US front line employees are some of the best in the business and I’m guessing that you are in fact one of them. ( a little misguided at times, but one of them….. 😛 )

Allow me to offer a tangible example of the difference in strategy the two airlines are taking with their VFF as opposed to my personal observations.

DL just formally rolled out a program called Executive Partners. This program is similar in nature to UA Global services. Each person invited into the program received a very nice white envelope right be before Christmas. Included was a special number to call for reservations, certificates to override premium awards using standard miles, highest upgrade priority over all medallion members, special notations of flight manifest as a VIP, a $50 gift card from DL, $100 voucher from Hertz, several certificates from Amex, skymiles dining, etc. The most impressive was a custom-made duffel bag from Hartman valued at $700.

Now given the above who do you think values my business more, DL or US. I’m going to say this one more time, the only thing I’ve gotten from US has been an enema kit from a senior VP and a very cold shoulder when I contacted them about a couple of issues when we were trying to honor a long time fantastic US employee.

I'm not posting this to rub this in your face, only to try and show you where I think the real tangible differences are in how the two airlines are treating the VFF. I truly wish that it was not this way, as I do miss US and the frontline people, but in my heart of hearts I know it is not going to change. I just moved on a year or so ago and many others are just now seeing the difference.

I wish you well and do hope the new direction your company is taking will work out in the end. I just simply want no part of it.

We all let emotion cloud the truth. While I am VERY thankful we are still here, this suicide mission with the most ff'ers like you scares me to no end. I am so tired at shacking my head at stupidity. I HONESTLY...REALLY true blue kool aid drinking thought things would be different. I had faith and after SOOOOOOOOO many management failures, I thought things were different. The only diff now is we are making money but we are the cheap parent that turns people off because a dollar saved appears more important than millions lost in high end biz fares...I'm over it, but I'll just shut up and tell myself I still have a JOB...Thats ALL it is anymore. <_<

LCC#1 you are right all it is is a job. I also hate to see the way the FF are being driven away & the way employees are treated. I was trying also to hope things would be better but it's only worse.
I just wish I had seen all this comming 10 years ago when I was younger.

And DP will justify it with a million reasons.

With the addition of the 6 coach seats exaclty how many seat will the 320 have?

Will it cause US to have to add a flight attendent?

Also am I to understand that there is no place in first for a coat to be hung?

No extra f/a...no place to hang jackets, and endless fuel stops to the west coast because of the extra weight. Its a nightmare. Our inbound to SEA stopped in MSP because of POOR planning, but I shouldnt whine. <_<

They will hold 12F/138Y Total=150, so no extra flight attendant, 1 more person and we would have an extra. You can hang your nice coat on that Sh!t box hanger thing on the bulkhead wall behind F but the first time they slam on the brakes everyone in F will be wearing a London Fog on their head and the hangers will be attached to their ears. I'm sorry but I think the 6 seats in Y need to come out and put the closet back in A/C left for coats and totes and put a little closet type thing in A/C right for the FWD emergency equipment and be done with it.

I don't think US can or have hangers. When I flew F/C on HP they did take my jacket and hung it behind the last row but when we landed they didn't give them to us so we had to all fight to get to the jacket.
