UCT pilot:

"Dear Fellow Pilot,

In my opinion, John's personal educated guess is just that, a guess.

There are a group of West pilots who believe they can gain control of USAPA by joining the union, but based on the Hardliners past, multiple times the Hardliners have committed alleged election fraud, and the Hardliner's ability to change the UOM I believe it is nearly impossible to gain control of USAPA to force responsible representation.

In addition, there is another group of West pilots who believe Judge Wake's order applies to only USAPA, not a follow on agent, which is why they're reluctant to support a Representation campaign.

In conclusion, until the court renders a decision nobody truly knows what will happen. However, one thing I am fairly certain of is that Judge Wake will order damages to be paid by USAPA and its is unclear who he may order to pay them (Members or Objectors).

Regards,"

West pilots take 330 captain bids in Fall.
USAPA gone by December
A few disgruntled AFO easties try to sue the APA and the company- case goes nowhere.  Eventually, interest wanes as the AFOs retire, see the futility in their efforts and realize they need to purchase a small piece of land with a trailer on it to afford retirement.
A sad ending for such a bitter group"

Let me continue to be direct.  If a majority of the MIGS actually vote and recall Hummel its over, at least for me.  If a bunch don't show up its all about me,  from here on out.  All I have ever asked was for a union to be run by the pilots.  Both the BPR and our pilots have let me down in that regard, especially in the last round of elections after the MOU passed. They could not be bothered to spend 2 minutes and vote.

The bet being made here by the recall group is NOT one of a majority, its one of apathy.  They still have not thought this out to the end game.  Maybe its more of McKee's "lets recall Gary, Elect Ferguson, and then recall him."  That exchange was actually recorded in the board room.  Hope it is published someday.  RR
I voted 'no' for the MOU because the language was vaguely unacceptable. I strongly felt management would have a difficult time explaining to interested parties their reason for discarding a vital agreement. An agreement which might or might not be a costly uncertainty if not delivered with a bow by mgt.

"Why," the creditors ask, "couldn't you close the deal?"

"Because labor insisted our agreements be printed in English with clear understandings rather than our preferred pig Latin."

Now, how would that look in the press...

But I was in the minority. I lost. Now we discover the agreement is replete with inequity. No worries. Regroup, move on, and try to make the best choices going forward.

Too bad. Yours was a strong voice. A reasonable voice of calm determination, absent of malice, always focused on the ultimate objective -- fairness.

If your best buddy falls in battle -- you swear -- you'll shift your sights, no longer focus on the true objective, and rationalize a strategy to lose a war when logic tells you to lead by way of a different path to an ultimate, long-fought objective.

Sad... to see you go out like that.

Cancun is expensive.  Donate sooner than later!  And for gosh sakes, don't be distracted by individuals with no skin in the game.  Don't be fooled by their negative vibes. Of course you all know the act of actually voting transcends all other acts. Do it, please.

The MOU is lacking in clear language, of course.  So is LOA 93, as tested unsuccessfully every time, at every turn.

You are missing the fact that just getting in the game in this merger was half the battle. Parker already had a deal with the APA, the LARGE union that would eat our lunch. Our effort to counter that evil was 100% successful, and was the culmination of some very smart lawyers, Officers, Committee members, and eventually the BPR. In that regard USAPA worked, worked beautifully.

And mere months later, only 38% of the CLT pilots could even bother to vote.

If those in the 25% of our group that did not agree with the MOU,  that success, choose to take over the union and throw us into yet another losing situation, what debt do I owe any of you? We continue to fight liars and thieves in management, they will take and steal from us at every opportunity. But in a week or so, they will be doing it to me a 180/hr instead of 124. I don't need any lectures on taking the high road or doing the heavy lifting for the pilot group. My dues are paid in full. There is nothing sad about what I have done, only sadness that that complete morons would throw it all away over petty power plays, using the apathy of our pilots. RR

It's an honest challenge to discern which of those two best presents as clearly the most delusional, or even as the finest candidate for quite possibly being the stupidest person now living. Perhaps a few more fine prophesies and T-Minus countdown clocks could be provided so's to break the tie....?

This is good.  I feel like the ALPA Concerned Pilots Committee is being resurrected.  You seem to be provoking a movement.   Folks are taking this stuff waayyy too personal.

Shelby Foote (the noted PBS Commentator and Civil War historian) once said he was 1 minute into his 15 minutes of fame. If one announces a date for when their 15 minutes will expire, then others can predict when the crescendo and finale will happen.

You have really gone off the reservation on this entire idea of monies. The PHL and CLT reps legally have had an open forum to spew their lies, and you think those on the receiving end simply have to sit back and "let the pilots decide" based on only that only source of information?  What a stupid premise, and you making fun of the same process that got USAPA elected it laughable. But that's ok,  that’s what forums are for, enjoy.  RR
