But they did have a HUGE amount of movement coming that should not be shared with the west because of attrition. That is where NIC missed the boat.. and I also disagree that a guy shouldn't get any credit for longevity..

and what about the guy never furloughed...

Also I have no desire to take an opening that should go to the west F/O for their slots. The more you repeat the stealing argument the more it does not become fact
I have done these numbers before. The "huge" movement you think you were getting is not what you think it is.

First off 25% of the retirements do not hold a bidding position.

Second Nicolau gave you 2/3 of all movement (66.6%)


So what you want is DOH, ALL the attrition and 90% of the contract. Does not leave much for the west pilots does it?
 
And nothing with NIC can possibly get ratified for several years to come. So as i said somebody is going to sue no matter what, so might as well press on with something that can get ratified then deal with the years long(er) court battles.

If the west is sure that they have a win through a DFR suit, as lots on here state, that seems to be the quickest way to get it done. Let USAPA put out some agreement that will pass, then AOL can sue. Problem solved.
It is not up to the west to "let" anything get done.

usapa is the bargaining agent. They have to negotiate with the company. The courts have warned the company and usapa that they better have a damn good reason for changing the nicolau and advancing the east over the west.

The west has simply warned all parties that if a contract goes out and passes that does not include the Nicolau all parties will be sued. It is up to usapa to get a contract. It is usapa that is incapable of negotiating a contract.

BTW just because a contract passes is not a LUP.

Talk to your east reps and tell them to get moving. Tell Hummel to walk into Parkers office and present the seniority proposal.

We are all waiting on usapa to make a move.

HA! Easy to say. USAPA hasn't been able to get within a light year to even attempt to prove your absurd statement. The Courts don't have crystal balls but USAPA does? If they did, they would have left this Billion dollar stupid idea in the Van.

The folks who would be suing for a non-DOH list would be a slim minority of folks on the bottom end of the scale working cheek to jowl with the same folks they are suing. Not likely to fly IMHO*. The west is suing from a distance and is 100% unified.

If only USAPA understood the value of unity.

The point is whatever seniority scenario is voted in by the majority, the opponents of that agreement is going to have a rough time getting any court to overrule it. On either side.

USAPA is USAPA and I think anybody can see that there is not much unity on the east when it comes to who is doing what in the BPR, or compass correction, or recall efforts or Chips crowd. Where the unity of the east comes into play from all indications that I see is the fact that no NIC can get ratified.

It IS going to go through the full court process no matter what happens. If we are sure of anything over the past 7 years we are sure of that both east and west.

Doug knows it also, and it is quite apparant in the last crew video in PHX. They stood up there and told the west exactly what they will see in 2013 and made no bones about it. No movement, no recalls, no hiring. And in their words the only thing keeping the west at the level they are now is the east flying that they are doing.

Basically he told the west to have at it with the lawsuits etc, but that he was moving on with hiring on the east so the west knows what they can expect for the duration of this process. What really would worry me if I were on the west was when they questioned the "rumors" that the new hires were being told they would probably upgrade in 5 to 7 years. To cut to the chase the answer was "yes" and in the explanation not once was the word PHX or west pilots used. there was lots of detail about the east retirement numbers, plus the new rest requirements coming up etc. That one item by itself tells me the company is done with the games and that the west has been put in hibernation for how ever long they wish to pursue the venture.
 
Primary and secondary lines are bid 2 months in advance(primary close, then secondary about a week later). reserve lines bids are the 10th of each preceeding month. After primary closes the SAP period opens for drops and swaps.

What's the difference between primary and secondary?
