OCT/NOV 2012 US Pilots Labor Discussion

At the crew news today Parker won't be able to divulge much about the NDA sessions. But he probably has a good sense of how they are progressing. I'll even hazard a guess that he already knows if the merger is go or no.

If it's a no then I expect status quo going forward. No hurry, let the pilots resolve this, company will listen to USAPA's proposal, etc. The status quo has been very good to Doug. Bad news for east and west pilots.

If it's a go, neither the Nic nor DOH (or something new and improved) has been ratified. We would need to return to negotiations, put them on hyper drive, get to a tentative agreement and send it out for a ratification vote. That would take some months. Even if Parker said it must be the Nic, it would be a lengthy process with no guarrantee of a speedy ratification.

Why not just submit two separate lists for seniority negotiations (a three way) which could conceivably be resolved between the two unions or ultimately through the McKaskill-Bond process. We are operating under two lists today. For all intents and purposes, that is the reality.

This allows USAPA to disinherit the Nic without harming the west. I don't see any liability on the part of the company.

Who represents the west in this scenario? USAPA does, using west personnel, through an augmented and bifurcated Merger Committee.

Q.E.D.

There are no east furloughed pilots that I am aware of.
This is where usapa and the east logic fails.

You guys are arguing the facts today. The usapa C&BL state unmerged career expectations. We have to go back to the facts that existed at the PID. In 2005 there were 1700 east pilots furloughed.

Trying to argue there are not east furloughed today would be POST merger and against the usapa C&BL and you have all told us how controlling and all powerful that document is.

UNMERGED not post merger career expectations.

Congratulations on your first post without your signature phrase! Its a big step.

Congratulations on your 900th post as a $#%.

What part of Binding Arbitration don't you get? The Binding part or the Arbitration part? When USAPA compromises in order to not get in trouble it will be fun to watch all the DOH'ers go crazy with anger...

The future is now history and underscores where the Nic logic failed. The snapshot taken back then represented a distorted and invalid view regarding the value of the east franchise. PHX/LAS did not lead the way to historic profits dragging the east operation on its coat tails, but rather quite the opposite can be argued.

If the Nic were implemented tomorrow based on the original PID it would generate enormous training costs and internal redistribution of seats and domiciles. The company is already on record that such a scenario would not be acceptable.

My condolences. You have had a relapse.

Patience. Patience...

There is no range wide enough to cover placing east furloughed pilots senior to west captains.

There is no range of reasonableness wide enough to put West furloughs above pilots that haven't been furloughed for the last five or six years.

None the less, your opinion and my opinion don't count much, as USAPA is the one tasked with negotiating within a wide range of reasonableness and when their task is complete and ratification is accomplished, the lawyers will be ready to collect lots of money. Put your pennies in the piggy.

Dude!!!

When someone like cactusboy offers a remonstration of that nature, a self evaluation is in order.

When anyone offers a remonstration to a noted disrespect of terms and traditions beginning with "Dude!!!".....You'll perhaps excuse me if I keep my own counsel. 😉

Go ahead, put up DOH, see what happens.

That's a given.

No one on the east gives a rat's ass about any DFR lawsuit. We'll pay to defend it; the west will pay to prosecute it, and defend it, too! I love it!

Nothing can happen until there is a new contract. If the west sues, the contract will be in place and POSSIBLY the section on seniority may be enjoined while the courts move at their lightning speed to resolve it. Who cares? By the time it is finally decided, most of us on the east with issues on the Nic will be retired.

Wow, you can just yap up a storm there dog-fight gramps!!

That Army has kept you guys set in LOA 93 for quite a while even with you eastholios running the union and in the majority.

I'd say we kicked your asses.

What nonsense you spew.

You keep bringing up LOA 93 like a mantra.

We look at it this way. We had the premier contracts in the industry for decades before your pathetic little airline of misfits and dunces ever even took flight. And, when that stain on airline aviation actually took place in, what?, 1983, you were working in conditions FAR worse than our LOA 93, even adjusted for inflation.

And you weak sisters held that "effective LOA 93" status for the entire period of your substandard operations. You have been on your own "LOA 93" for nearly 30 years; we have endured it for less than 10. Sure, right this moment your own "LOA 93" is a bit better than that of about 75% of the east pilots. But history cannot be changed. You are the loser carrier of the airline industry without ever the balls to get anything better.

Now that the senile old man gave you the chance to steal others' jobs, you think you've got it made.

Well, like they say here in the civilized world: Fuggedaboudit!
