At the crew news today Parker won't be able to divulge much about the NDA sessions. But he probably has a good sense of how they are progressing. I'll even hazard a guess that he already knows if the merger is go or no.
If it's a no then I expect status quo going forward. No hurry, let the pilots resolve this, company will listen to USAPA's proposal, etc. The status quo has been very good to Doug. Bad news for east and west pilots.
If it's a go, neither the Nic nor DOH (or something new and improved) has been ratified. We would need to return to negotiations, put them on hyper drive, get to a tentative agreement and send it out for a ratification vote. That would take some months. Even if Parker said it must be the Nic, it would be a lengthy process with no guarrantee of a speedy ratification.
Why not just submit two separate lists for seniority negotiations (a three way) which could conceivably be resolved between the two unions or ultimately through the McKaskill-Bond process. We are operating under two lists today. For all intents and purposes, that is the reality.
Who represents the west in this scenario?
This allows USAPA to disinherit the Nic without harming the west. I don't see any liability on the part of the company.
How does ucrapa disinherit the Nic without harming the west? You don't see any liability on the part of the company? Read the transition agreement.
Who represents the west in this scenario? USAPA does, using west personnel, through an augmented and bifurcated Merger Committee.
Good luck finding west personnel that would go along with this little scheme. And, really, since when does ucrapa represent west pilots in any way, shape or form?
