What's new

TATTLETALE

I was wondering the same thing Twicebaked. Reserves are sick and tired of being treated like second class citizens. She messed with the wrong group.

 I have to say as a blockholder for now, Reserves are the GLUE that holds this airline together.

I have to say I can't remember the last time I've seen the reserve f/a group get so worked up. It's like the straw that broke the camel's back. We need to harness this energy and direct it towards getting something done about the reserve system. Were is Pref. bidding?

There is a group of FA s who are doing some research of our options and trying to get together to change this reserve system for the better. Just hope there will be some comradery in this insanity. Not like the last election when every one complained and no one voted.

Looks like the NARC is doing AMS all month of JAN - Trip leaves every Sunday returning every Tuesday - boy I wish I was based in PHL - I would have to hang out at the AMS gate while sitting evening OPR

How are we going to change rsv system? Not trying to be a bummer, but from everything I have found out, any change will have to come with the new contract. The company isn't going to change things mid-stream. one thing they might be able to do is increase the size of the buckets. Let me know if you know anything else. 18.5 yrs of rsv is wearing thin on me. I'm afraid I might go "LCC" on someone.

I'm not sure how much will be changed now but those reserves are working to make a change for the next contract. Our union does not support a rotating reserve system at all. They have said this time and time again. Instead, what they want is a seniority-based system with shifts. It is basically the same thing we have now except no LTO, which will only screw us junior reserves even more. I did not like the old reserve system and I don't like the new one. I never flew under the old system and I never fly now. Actually, under the seniority system, I went three months without being called by scheduling. That's right! I didn't fly for three whole months! Then when I did fly, I never made my time, not even close. Both systems are seriously flawed. All the major carriers and many of the smaller carriers have a rotating reserve system or a system set up so that f/as aren't on reserve for very long. They utilize reserves exactly how they should be utilized - for sick calls, illegal crews, irregular ops, etc. They don't use and abuse and rape and pillage their reserves like our blockholders and schedulers do at US Airways. Even at America West they care for their reserves. They even have a website for them. What does the union do to help us? That's right. Nothing. That's why there are reserves who are so fed up they are taking matters into their own hands. Here is the reserve website for America West reserves.

Our union says they understand but they do not. They never will. They never do anything for us yet they will bend over backwards for our senior BHs.

THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!

i totally appreciate what you are saying, FlightChic.
if we have a numerical majority (do we?), why not find/create a new union?
the real question is probably this: how much of this could be resolved with eliminating overflying?
DoUgIe & kirby would put their clothes back on if they knew how much overflying was costing this operation!!

I would rather see MORE flight attendants getting involved in the union to bring about change. The more voices the union hears the more they will have to change their way of thinking or be voted out. That kind of pressure only comes from union members taking the time to get involved by picking up the phone, sending an e-mail, attending a meeting or for Gosh sakes VOTE!

I would be all for finding/creating a new union. A lot of this could resolved with eliminating overflying. However, they just continue to let it happen. We have blockholders who fly 130, 140, 160 hours a month and nothing is ever said to them. I know Parker and Kirby aren't aware of this. It should be brought to their attention though because it is costing them a lot of money. I doubt the union or the supervisors will ever do anything it though because the BHs are treated like royalty and we are treated like servants. we have got to do something about this. This must be stopped!

Right, wrong or indifferent to her statement there has always been an unwritten rule that you don't tell on a fellow coworker. We are family, yes a dysfunctional one but still family. I for one would have no interest in flying with this lady. When you can't respect or trust your fellow crew member it makes for bad CRM.

I know her and she is no lady! I have always been amazed by some of our flight attendants who run into the offices after each trip and give a run down to their supervisors of every detail of the flights. I, for one, believe that as flight attendants we are not supervisors. If people are so concerned with the activities and behaviors of others, they should apply for inflight supervisors. Otherwise, butt out and mind your own business!

Holy Mierda! I am a PHL B/H and cannot believe what she wrote. I hadn't read the letter until today in this thread! Does anyone know the F/A who met her at her flight from BOS? Does anyone personally know her, is she a mean person in general? I wonder if she will be flying her AMS trips in January. I may have to go on the AIL so I can work the cart with her and run over her toes.

Esa mujer loca needs to get on outta here. Ella no tiene ningun derecho de denunciar a esa reserve. Que babosa. Que se vaya! Que se vaya!
Leave Cyndy leave! Eres una persona horrible! If she's smart she will lay low for a while. I hope you do run over her toes. Then shake a few cans of soda and open them right in front of her.

Our rsv system should be by seniority. Trust me, I have been in your shoes. For over 18 years, I have been in these shoes. Your own statement proves exactly what I have said for along time. US Airways has too many rsv's. Proof of that is this LTO system. Even Pat Friend at the last CLT union meeting acknowledge that. However, our union is not going to mention furlough. As we all know, bodies are money to the union. I have brought up rotating rsv during the last few union meetings. There is no way they will go for it. If MF or any of the other LEC's supported rotating rsv, they would be voted out of office. I have always said that US does not utilize their rsv's as rsv's. They use them to make up for when BH's don't want to work.

Maybe it's time to follow in the pilots footsteps and get a new union that only represents us?? you think???
