I was wondering the same thing Twicebaked. Reserves are sick and tired of being treated like second class citizens. She messed with the wrong group.

I have to say as a blockholder for now, Reserves are the GLUE that holds this airline together.

There is a group of FA s who are doing some research of our options and trying to get together to change this reserve system for the better. Just hope there will be some comradery in this insanity. Not like the last election when every one complained and no one voted.
How are we going to change rsv system? Not trying to be a bummer, but from everything I have found out, any change will have to come with the new contract. The company isn't going to change things mid-stream. one thing they might be able to do is increase the size of the buckets. Let me know if you know anything else. 18.5 yrs of rsv is wearing thin on me. I'm afraid I might go "LCC" on someone.
i totally appreciate what you are saying, FlightChic.I'm not sure how much will be changed now but those reserves are working to make a change for the next contract. Our union does not support a rotating reserve system at all. They have said this time and time again. Instead, what they want is a seniority-based system with shifts. It is basically the same thing we have now except no LTO, which will only screw us junior reserves even more. I did not like the old reserve system and I don't like the new one. I never flew under the old system and I never fly now. Actually, under the seniority system, I went three months without being called by scheduling. That's right! I didn't fly for three whole months! Then when I did fly, I never made my time, not even close. Both systems are seriously flawed. All the major carriers and many of the smaller carriers have a rotating reserve system or a system set up so that f/as aren't on reserve for very long. They utilize reserves exactly how they should be utilized - for sick calls, illegal crews, irregular ops, etc. They don't use and abuse and rape and pillage their reserves like our blockholders and schedulers do at US Airways. Even at America West they care for their reserves. They even have a website for them. What does the union do to help us? That's right. Nothing. That's why there are reserves who are so fed up they are taking matters into their own hands. Here is the reserve website for America West reserves.

Our union says they understand but they do not. They never will. They never do anything for us yet they will bend over backwards for our senior BHs.
THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!

if we have a numerical majority (do we?), why not find/create a new union?
the real question is probably this: how much of this could be resolved with eliminating overflying?
DoUgIe & kirby would put their clothes back on if they knew how much overflying was costing this operation!!

Right, wrong or indifferent to her statement there has always been an unwritten rule that you don't tell on a fellow coworker. We are family, yes a dysfunctional one but still family. I for one would have no interest in flying with this lady. When you can't respect or trust your fellow crew member it makes for bad CRM.
Holy Mierda! I am a PHL B/H and cannot believe what she wrote. I hadn't read the letter until today in this thread! Does anyone know the F/A who met her at her flight from BOS? Does anyone personally know her, is she a mean person in general? I wonder if she will be flying her AMS trips in January. I may have to go on the AIL so I can work the cart with her and run over her toes.![]()
