EMBFA, I couldn't have said it better myself! AMEN SISTA!
im so serious and reading all the letters and I get to yours and bust out laughing. thank you I think we all needed thatHoly Mierda! I am a PHL B/H and cannot believe what she wrote. I hadn't read the letter until today in this thread! Does anyone know the F/A who met her at her flight from BOS? Does anyone personally know her, is she a mean person in general? I wonder if she will be flying her AMS trips in January. I may have to go on the AIL so I can work the cart with her and run over her toes.![]()
Ok we had a meeting yesterday and we are putting facts together. Unfortunately we will not have all the info for the union meeting which will be Dec 13. We will still be there and I hope to see many reserves there. The letter of Ms Cyndi will be brought up but I hope that will not be the topic of the meeting. We need to be there for the union to once again hear out thoughts on the reserve system. He will be informed of out intention of a petition for his and or union removal if he does not bring reserve issue to the table. We are not asking him we are telling him this is the last straw for us. And for those unbelievers yes yes they said women would never vote. Guess what? I can vote because of someone else courage. The pilots were sold down the river by their union. Now the pilots are in arbitration for a NEW UNION. You can check out their website USAPA http//usairlinepilots.org As we know it takes one person to start an action for is what unjust the rest will follow. It's so they don't have to worry about a reserve picking up thier trips as it's already been established that we are sub-human.
US Airways flight attendant group is arguably the biggest failure of any F/A group in the industry. Here are some of our accomplishments.
* Major airline with contract similar to commuters and budget carriers
* 1985 wages
* Dated, silly "me-too" clause with the most ball-less pilot group in the industry
* Worst reserve system with 24/7 duty and only way to make money giving up off days
* F/As with 9 years seniority eligible for food stamps and government aid in four of five domiciles
* Only carrier that permits seniority bullying in case of base closure displacement, affecting everyone on the seniority list
* Only major airline not hiring, only airline with furloughs (only other is AA-TWA)
* Worst scope clause in the industry, allowing express F/As to staff jets up to 90 seats, at what is the most short haul, regionalized, small aircraft oriented carrier of the majors.
* Dubious distinction of having more F/As on furlough than working at one point.
* Shrunk from nearly 11,000 to just over 5000, making us increasingly insignificant and weak in national AFA in a time of major consolidation.
* Bizarre, union sanctioned staffing model that puts people with 20 years on reserve. "Newest" most junior F/A was hired nearly a decade ago. Youngest F/A is almost 30.
* Shockingly poor voter turnout both for local elections and contracts.
* Can't negotiate a buyout anyone wants to take.
* Allowed two contracts on one certificate for "division" of airline, went along with company in not honoring these F/As longevity for active service
* Currently has two contracts on one certificate, negotiating new contract, of which 7 sections have been completed in 2 years. 35 sections left to go. That's some progress.
Now the union doesn't have control over some of these things, but I mean, come on... we are the losers, the laughingstock... just like the company we work for. Where is the outrage over ALL of these things, and many more?
Could any of this be because our own group would rather s*it on thier own or be selfish than try and empower themselves?
This F/A membership is anything but a union. Union or unity is the last thing that comes to mind.
Cyndy Atkins letter has just crystalized the whole thing, and put a face and a name to everything that is wrong with this group. She's just made herself a poster girl for the disgusting, ignorant attitude that has gotten us where we are today.
yes she does. and her roommates are super cool. rebecca mercado is one of them whom i care for very much and who by the way is doing very well. and she thanks everyone for all their prayers and support. She's got a crashpad? Is it in Depressington? Oh honey... lol

We have a lovely cornfield with some acreage we'd like to show you. Please be sure to bring your cackys....and a zip vest, you may be there for awhile.
Mi amor, you said it all! My trip comes in super early, so I will be at the meeting, too. I wasn't at the last meeting but from what I have heard-------> Will the Union Officials get a free hot lunch again at our dime?I only hope that people take this same anger and harness it to unleash on the union. Ya know, the VERY union that protects people JUST like her. FYI....don't bother bringing this up at the union meeting since John has made it clear he intends to stay out of it will not get involved.
