For those FAs out there who may not know about the letter, may I suggest you always have a copy with you to share with your crews, and maybe even flood it in the crew rooms? Let the games begin -- this is a self-centered, selfish, woman with a false sense of entitlement who deserves a public caning. I say we give it to her.
 
Maybe I missed it in all the posts but where does this woman commute from to PHL ????
 
You guys need to change your contract language. The reserves in the WEST are allowed to commute as long as they allow themselves with 2 commutable and back up flights.

Our reserves in Vegas are also allowed to pick up trips in Phoenix.

I also know that we have junior block holders who are concerned about going back on reserve. I say , call your AFA reps and West Phoenix AFA66 negotiators and demand that they include rotating reserves in the joint contract ~

Many of us have contacted our union reps numerous times and we get the same old excuse that our membership would never go for it so therefore they will not negotiate such as thing. Our only hope is if the America West union reps support it. I posted an entry on my blog about this. If you are a lineholder at AW you could very well lose your line, especially when our senior mamas transfer out there. We have a lot of west coast commuters with 30, 40, 50 years seniority. Furthermore, if we have a system similar to what we have now, many of you will lose your blocks. It is horrible over here with our caste system and the reserves are treated like crap. They want us to go back to a seniority based system which means I will still never fly, nor will i ever get a chance to pick up a decent trip from future. They are also negotiating for shifts which we don't have back East. We are on call 24 hours a day for 6 days straight sometimes. We get no break from being on duty. Other than that, I don't see anything different. Same crap! I will definitely be contacting your union reps. We all should! You guys are our only hope.

Of course and believe me I don't trust that Mike Flores. My friend had him on the flight and he's only looking after the senior block holders over there and not your reserves. My friend had him on his flight and he told him to make the joint contract a win-win situation for both WEST and EAST. Make everyone happy, not just the east block holders.

Could you imagine the horror the EAST system would cause without changes in the new contract.

PHX would suddenly be "short" and the flood gates would open.

No new hires until the invols. are recalled.

People would lose blocks that they very well may never see again.

The reserves in PHX would join the rest of us NOT making our time and there would be more of them!

I cannot imagine the WEST AFA would even consider the current EAST reserve system as it stands today.

Something has to give.
 
This is an issue where the said idiot elected herself to be hall monitor. And she thinks she did the right thing. Wrong.

Why? Because she thinks it's her right. And where did she get that idea? Because she's senior?? Yes...Wrong again. It's not her right.

I've run across a few f/a's like this...not many thank god. And I've never let them push me. Why? Because I KNOW MY WORTH.

There will always be people who will try to marginalize you. Don't let it happen. Stand up for yourself. Hell, call me and I'll be your back!

The Union nor the Company can control this kind of behavior. And this behavior is based on a person's misguided belief that they are correcting a misbehaving child! (my opinion only)

The east does have that commuter policy.

My opinion is that firstly, there should be a longer call out time, secondly, the company not to mention other flight attendants should not be concerned about a reserve F/As physical location. I call you you show up. I don't care if you paddled down the Delaware in a canoe or were dropped from a UFO, you are there for check-in, if not you are discipined accordingly. The company's only concern should be that you make it when called, not what you're doing when you're not needed.

Last time I checked the youngest F/A is 28 freaking years old- they are all adults who can make decisions like grown-ups and show up to work as agreed.

Slavery was abolished. This is a JOB. You can not be punished for your physical location when not needed, only for not showing up late or not at all.

Zarah, you are correct as usual... if our bizarre staffing model and disgusting "blockholder/ life reserve" contract is the surviving one the west will be decimated. Any of thier under ten year hires would be as toast as Cheryl Atkins career.

At other airlines your 4 numerical employee number means absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!! You are not entitled to anything on there airlines. If F/A's want to get to the gate 3 hours before the flight then good for them, you my friend need to deal with it.
In closing, I was unaware that the company was looking for a chair person for 1-800-NARC......You Cyndy have just made yourself the president and you really should have thought about your email prior to sending it and having it go all over the internet.
