I've read that AA will be recalling 80 people in the near term to work at the newly leased Delta hangar at DFW, I think that was in a press release...BTW- how many title 1 folks are rif'd from AFW?

If the list is correct 120 AMTs, 105 OSMs hold recall rights and the AC cleaners and Parts Washers have all been recalled

That is not correct, around 30 of the mechanic jobs are existing jobs with the galley mod, and are being moved to the Delta hangar in June. As far as the other 50, nobody here has said anything about recalls yet.

I guess the reason for more AC cleaners must be from the hangar aquisition. Any guess as to how many cleaners will be hired?

The hangar being acquired is at DFW, not AFW.
 Oops need to notice which letter is front of FW. Makes a big difference dont it! I sure hope it leads to recalls of AMTs at DFW. After pounding the streets for a couple of years I am starting to miss the smell of jet fuel. Thanks for the info.

Is there a good reason that AFW/DFW aren't considered single city for furlough purposes? DFW/DAL still had that status long before AA decided to put F100's in there to bury Legend.

OK you got me! Havent a clue why they wouldnt be a single city station (I'm sure the politics are a mile long) but what was DFW/DAL.

If you have to ask that, you must really be junior.....

Love Field and DFW have had single city status since DFW first opened. When DAL first reopened in 1997, there were still a couple dozen guys who had been at DAL, and were entitled to return to DAL if they wanted to. Likewise with the agents.

When DAL closed in 2001, if I'm remembering correctly, the clerks and agents all fell back into DFW's headcount before the actual post 9/11 RIF was conducted.

Similar provisions existed between ORD and MDW for the brief time it was TWU staffed in the 90's, between JFK and LGA (not sure if EWR is also included or not), IAD and DCA, and the language should still be there for HOU and IAH, even though HOU has been closed for a while.

Your right still learning the American way. Thanks for the explanation. Didnt recognize Love fields airport code.

Only with the TWU can you have a one station agreement in the New York,San Francisco,Chicago, etc. areas, but not in the DFW area. It's all about politics. If a major layoff at AFW happened, the DFW people want AFW people to have to go to JFK,SFO,ORD before any DFW people hit the street and vice versa. It's that simple. In my opinion, the precedent has already been set in other cities,so the DFW area is no different. There ought to be a one station agreement between AFW and DFW.

Just running with sissors here, but could it have something to do with the fact that AFW is an Overhaul Base while DFW is a line station, and while LGA/JFK/EWR are line stations also they along with SFO/SJC/OAK, ORD/MDW, DCA/IAD, LAX/LGB/ONT are also considered line stations, and don't do Overhaul, but as we've all seen Overhaul work is transfered around/ie Gally mods and Overhead bins etc/. But I would say given the close proximity of AFW/DFW I agree that there should be a 1 station agreement. Anyone know if MCI/MCIE has a 1 station rule?

I dont know what all the criteria is but I believe it is. After the aquisition MCI was going to be a 25% occupational seniority station for ex TW while MCIE was 100% occ sen. It was ruled ( I believe by Kasher) that it was 100% occ sen at MCI and the seniority lists were combined. I do know if I were on the property at MCIE and a realignment bid came around one of the options would be MCI line along with the various shops at MCIE. I agree AFW/DFW/DAL should be treated as one station. I'll go one further the whole system should be treated that way. The juniority list takes away from the concept of what seniority is about.

AFW is an overhaul station and DFW is line.
