How would you know what the "real Delta" is ?
What concern is it of yours if we vote or not? just curious.
same goes with goodgirl? What dog do you have in this fight? insults thrown around here
only hurt your cause.

I have only one reason, and that is b/c I really dont want to see some of the people at DAL get screwed royally, otherwise, you get what you ask for.. Same goes for us in the union, only we negotiate our misery you are just forced into it.. Maybe they will throw one of those new $200 (retail) netbooks at you, and tell you that you are so wonderful.. Such a cheap price and so easy, i would do it too!! I just laugh, its almost comical, especially when i saw Joanne Smiths DVD, I cant believe people actually buy it, it just amazes me.. They should make a DVD of the pregnant flight attendant that lost her job after coming back from maternity and then was injured on the plane and claimed OJI, Then DAL mgmt, decided DAL wasn't the "place" for her, after her OJI claim, after 10 years of working there!!! Seriously people, I could go for hours on end with stuff like this..

Lets have some DL employees chime in, you will hear a different story.

Keep ignoring the questions.

OK........chiming in here. We took no more of a hit than unionized NW employees , during bankruptcy, and didn't have to pay dues to accomplish it !

And if unions are better producers, try blowing that smoke up someone else's A_ _ with that one, wheres Eastern Airlines ?

If you want a contract, fine, vote in a union, just don't pull a Nobama and change the rules to do it !

If I don't go to vote in a union, that means I'm not interested in having a union, in other words...........................a NO union vote here !

I am a Delta employee...and I know the "real" Delta. The Delta of when we aren't in the middle of a union election.

How much did Delta have to pay you back after the big BK? Although NWA paid me 60 to 80 cents for each dollar stolen from me by them. The union won this pay back.

How many stations were farmed out on your ramp? Only now, with the union knocking on the door at Delta has management brought a few stations back from the land of contractors.

Hey Kev, why dont you chime in, your have always posted the differences between NW and DL, now is the time to bring them back.

And Southwind you are now going to be shown for the fabricator that you really are, its so nice when you leave yourself open to be proven posting wrong information. Are you trying to rewrite history, everyone knows Frank Lorenzo killed Eastern, that is why the DOT and DOJ has banned him from every owning or running an airline, did the govt do that to the unions?

That one sentence tells me a lot. " only we negotiate our misery you are just forced into it."
so after spending thousands and thousands of dollars on dues, you end up pretty much with
the same thing.....
You have to understand that many f/a's at Delta are more fed up with the AFA than with Delta.
That should really tell you something about the AFA. I will keep saying this until the votes are
in. It's the lesser of the two evils and right now the AFA isn't looking good at all.

That's absolutely not true.

We may have taken the same (or nearly same) pay cut percentage-wise, but those of us at NW were able to recoup much of that through the IAM's sale of unsecured claims, and the subsequent distribution of the proceeds. Most "middle of the road" people (topped out, don't work much OT) made 12-16K.

Money aside, we also were able to secure hundreds of jobs in smaller cities that NW wanted to wipe off the face of the Earth (yes, mine was one of them). How did those at DL that didn't have a voice fare?

Going forward, we still have the following:

*Retiree medical
*2 extra weeks of vacation
*Scope language
*Lower premiums and lower deductible for insurance
*Unlimited accruals of OJI & sick time
*Inclusive lunch for many shifts
*Participation in the IAMNPF
*Grievance process & resolution procedure

That's just a few to start...

All of the above were negotiated. They were not granted to the workforce because it "was the right thing to do," as Anderson is so fond of saying.

Got to love it when a plan comes together, thanks Kev!

I know the "real" Delta. The Delta of when we aren't in the middle of a union election.
I know the real disfunction of the current union we have on the property at this time.

The division and infighting is literally outrageous.

It has carried over from union to union and it is a complete mess.

Dont believe me? wait..

The DL people need to know the truth before they are already settled onto the property.

the culture at NW has always been one of conflict regarding labor relations and of course the Union.. That conflict is generally either between Union and Management or those within the Union structure regarding leadership... and has become "normalized" the way it is suppose to be done and to some, (especially those who feel entitled to union positions and paid activists) simply will not step out of that mode..

these are some of the reasons why we have been merged in and out of three different unions in a 10 year period of time.

those in the Union and associated leaders create a continuous need for attention or their way (this is a completely separate issue than dealing with Management and our Scope Clause) and then attempt to transpose that need onto the membership convincing it has to be done another way with another Union. (this Union did not work, so it we must go to this one, and so on) it is basically a self-serving agenda and the group is in a continuous loop and you go no where.

it is highly dysfunctional, it is not supportive and will cause serious problems regarding division and will carry over.

now they are doing exactly the same thing and projecting that sense of conflict onto an employer we have never been associated.

the issue is not necessary Flight Attendant, it is those within the Union Leadership structure who in fight and generally its because a sense of holding onto or securing power positions, a form of control..what happens a sense of being effective is lost and creates very real problems for the whole group.

Then run for office and get involved, attend meetings.

The Union is YOU, look in the mirror, you admitted your not involved and dont attend meetings.

If your not happy with it, get involved and make a change from within.

The Union is YOU, look in the mirror, you admitted your not involved and dont attend meetings.
typical playbook distraction.

(when you cannot address an issue, then they blame the member)

Look who is talking, I asked you these questions several times and you never answered:

1. Why is it ok for the CEO and other executives to have contracts, yet not ok for the employee?

2. Why is the airline industry one of the highest unionized industries in the US?

3. Go ask the non-union DL employees what happened to them, how many times did DL negotiate with them?

4. Did DL employees vote or have a voice?

And its not a deflect, it is reality, if you are not involved you have no right to biatch and complain as you dont do anything to make a change. Apathy is easier for than to actually get involved and make a change from within, and you wonder why there are issues, the union is not your officers that are elected, every member is the union.

more distraction.

when you voice a concern or even an opinion, you get exactly that response.

(that is exactly my point)

at least they will have an idea how it will be..

Your the king/queen of distraction, I posted those questions at least 6 times to you and you failed to answer them once again.

And its apparent you want to blame the union and everyone else for your gripes and yet you fail to get involved to make a change from within.

Keep avoiding the issues at hand, I will now refer to you as the Ostrich.
