your contract is the bottom feeder of the industry, your ibt has not secured heavy maintenance, line maintenance and you treat your GSE, Plant and Stores as second class citizens.

AS WE HAVE SAID, THIS WAS OUR FRIST CONTRACT WITH AMERICA WEST AND WE WERE GOING TO WORK ON IT, BUT THE MERGER WAS IN PLACE.... AND LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO TO YOUR STRONG IAM CONTRACT?????(AND LOOK WHAT YOUR IAM DID FOR YOU.(now you are the low point, So get of our ass the IAM is THE BOTTOM FEEDERS)

GSE, Plant and Stores make less then US on the east and you treat them as second class citizens.

We have a DCP and 401K match, you only have a 401k match.

At US East all the A320 family Aircraft and 737s are overhaule in-house, and some 757 work is coming back in-house.

It took a bankruptcy judge to bring the IAM/CBA down to your level, you have never obtained the great CBAs we had until two bankruptcies and three rounds of concessions and we still managed to keep better scope and many other things.

And if your ibt is so great why did you not secure the work?

Why has the ibt let the company walkaway from talks?

Once again the reason all this work is done in house at USAirways is because your payscale is equal to that of Timco etc.......And you are proud of that?????? :shock:

No it is actually not, many A&Ps in foreign repair stations dont speak english, you know like the ones who overhaul your A320 in San Salvador in El Salvador.

And I see you cant refute anything I have posted, give up while you are behind.

I have read your CBA and everything I have posted has come from there, like I said, don't let the facts get in your way.

I don't have a dog in this fight but it appears 700 presented some valid points and you awausairtech have nothing to add but insults. If you believed so strongly in your cause I would think that you could post some actual facts as to why the IBT is better than the IAM not just for the mechanics but for all its members.
 
Eligibility

1 You must be at least 18 years of age

2 You must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. There are some exceptions to this if you work outside of the United States. See FAR 65.71 for details

3 You must have practical experience working on airframes and powerplants. If your experience is civilian, you must have 18 months of practical experience working on airframes OR powerplants. If you have 30 months of practical experience concurrently working on both airframes and powerplants, then you may qualify for both ratings. See FAR 65.77 for details.


Both awausairtech and 700UW are correct. DRAW!!

My question is: how can any union secure work unless the company agrees??

AWA: the in house checks were gone thanks to Mr. Franke. And yes, before the IBT was in.

USA: the in house checks were there but a lot was lost due to outsourcing and/or BK's. Correct??
 
You negotiate, the IAM from 1949 till 2005 had all the work in-house, it took a bankruptcy judge and two bankruptcies to allow some outsourcing.

It is called taking on the company and not backing down.

The ibt failed to secure the work, and what about line work being done at non-mtc?

The IAM was faced with a bad situation and tried to save as many jobs as possible.

All ibt CBAs lead the industry in outsourcing, CO, HP and UP.

Your union for years have sold out by letting your union being run by the mafia and you the government taking over your union.

I know you negotiate BUT you cannot negotiate something that the company is dead set against no matter how long or how hard you try.

Take on the company and not back down??? Really?? That's easier said than done. The "battles" may be won that way but what about the "war"?

READ THIS 700UW 98% of the IBT CONTRACTS THE COMPANY WAS OUTSOURCING BEFORE IBT WAS ON PROPERTY!!!!!
