The contract was amendable in 1995, we voted one down in 1999 and then ratified another one in 1999 with many gains.

Before that it was amendable in 1990 and we went on strike for five days in October of 1992 and then ratified an agreement.
All we did when we went on strike was allow the company not to pay us for a week because the same basic agreement was voted in a week later! Nothing gained from that strike, then the union didn't even know when our snap back wages were suppose to come back probably thought everybody forgot about that one huh!

First of all the union does not snap back the wages, it was taken to arbitration and the arbiter ruled the company enforced the language the same as every other group eventhough the language was clearly written differant.

The concessions were lower and differant then everyone else in 1992, and we got the 200% return on the concessions plus the stock options, that was differant. Also the ratio was obtained instead of getting rid of mechanics totally of the pushbacks.

See I remember.

As usual the IAM settled like a soft puppy dog....sad

Settled for what?

We reached a T/A during the strike, that is the objective and the IAM does not control how an arbitor will rule and I would say a 200% return plus stock options is a pretty good deal.

So are you saying that if a union reaches a T/A while on strike it is a soft puppy dog? What about your beloved UPS Strike? The ibt settled while on strike, so with your analogy they are a lapdog.

Well Genius if you call UPS and the IBT settling. Our DRIVERS make more than your TECHNICIANS!!!!!!! With much better benefits and retirement. Now I won't even get in to my pay versus your technician pay. Hell or even our UNSKILLED stock room boys pay versus yours.

HEY but don't let the facts get in your way. I see you had a day off today to be on the board all day.

Well since the US and HP AMTs are within a few cents of each other, and your GSE and Plant are paid less, then your information shows your ibt represented HP AMTs make less then your UPS drivers also!

Thanks for making this too eas!

it must not be eas enough for you.

if we hard it it once from you then we have heard it a million times, that the last cba concessions were voted on by the union members so don't blame the iam for the lousy cba, with that said, if the hp gse and plant are making less and it was voted on and passed then that makes it no fault of the ibt

you are right on something else

YOU MAKE THIS TOO EASY!!!!!

I apologize, I can't compete mentally with a stock clerk, but I was under the impression we were comparing USAirways and UPS
But it is sad now that you bring it up. IAM has been representing USAirways for what over 20 years and they are making less than technicians at HP with only one IBT negotiated contract.
Your making this to where my 11 year old can argue with you.
Don't let the facts get in your way. Ever feel you are alone?????

well...well sonny boy...you should be thankful that we took the time and got involved instead of being a snot nosed brat and whining about all that was given to you due to our hard work over the years..... 😉

just like the right to voice your opinions on this forum...lots gave all so snot nosed brats can voice their views free from reprisal. 😱

You cant compare cargo trucking company to an airline.

Also the IAM has been on the property at US since 1949, second it took two chapter 11 filings and three rounds of concessions to go DOWN to the HP/ibt level.

And even with all that the IAM CBA pays the AMTs just about the same, and the GSE, Plant MTC and Stock Clerks make more then their ibt represented counterparts. And there are more mechanics employed on the east side and we perform the majority of the overhaul inhouse, you cant say that about any ibt represented AMT, now can you?

And if ibt and the HP is so great, why are you working for a cargo company and not HP?

Three rounds of concessions!!!  That says it all about your wonderful IAM. You stuck your foot in your trap again, the IAM has been around the company since 1949 and there pay is at the bottom of the major AMT rates

By the way I know it is difficult for you to comprehend this but UPS is a 121 carrier. Do you understand the FAR'S? We have over 275 aircraft. Not the little 737, 319,320 stuff like yours but 747, MD11, 767, A300 etc etc, So what do you think genius? Are we a total cargo trucking company????????

Please bring something more intelligent to the conversation

At least arguing with Delldude is making my brain think, he has some good points, but dude 😛h34r:

Once again you are posting misinformation, more work will becoming in-house once there is a transition agreement as your former HP A320s and 737s will be overhauled by US instead of Aeroman and Timco.

By the way the IAM does not outsource, US Airways and HP do.

How can you be so wrong once again?

By the way the headcount in CLT in the past year has gone up, not down.

Keep trying and don't let the facts get in your way.

By the way, what is the ibt going to do at Comair since the F/A CBA was just abrogated?
