While the "new" DL141 leadership hasn't been doing a good job (in my humble opinion) of communicating, they have communicated this error to the Membership. Go to http://iam141.org/contract/usDiscrepancies.html and look at item 9. This is one of the errors in the printed contract that has been grieved. Of course there have been no updates to anything (or any new information on anything really) but that's a separate issue.

Has the grievance been arbitrated?

Has the grievance been arbitrated?
No, this grievance currently is in the process of being sent to arbitration! What frustrates most of us including me is the process in any dispute takes too long! In the meeting with corporate they say they feel the same frustration? Yet I believe they are the ones responsible for both sides feeling that way, IT IS WHAT IT IS! We can only be professional and pursue this agressively with all the angles as we have in a professional manner. We as your leaders work for you, (period). All decisions are based on how to win these cases so all will benefit! I can tell you losing sux, that is why the leadership works together to process arbitrations that will win, takes time and thorough evaluations but please realize that the new guys have over 60 cases filed for arbitration already. THX GF

Saw the list recently, the choices are: DEN, DFW, MCI, MSY, CLT, DCA, PHL, MHT. There may have been one other East City listed, but the 8 I mention were on the list of choices. I have a feeling the reason PHX has no current openings is that 1) The TUS furloughs from back in May filled some slots, and 2) possible reduction in flying with the Fall schedule.

I would list PHX as a recall city only if none of the other cities listed were viable options... otherwise you subject yourself to the gamble of the 60-day rule. The odds are not in your favor. If at all possible, stay on the payroll and go to one of the cities listed above!!
There are jobs in PHX there are approximately 30 lead agent slots. They upgrade 15 to 20 ramp agents to lead every day in PHX to fill the slots. The management in PHX wants to keep US east employees out of PHX as long as possible they do not want to the east cost union mentality in PHX. Under Article 8 they can only upgrade some one 180 days to lead they have been puling people to lead every day sense November when the IAM contract went into effect in PHX. The management is shuffling the paper work around to make it look like their is no openings.

It's also cheaper for them to upgrade TL qualified agents since most are only a few years into the pay scale, if that. A decent number of these agents have no business being leads whatsoever, but it seems they'd rather pay cheap for some lackluster stand-ins than transfer in experienced people.

I heard that when the transfers came in from TUS and LAS any of the TL's among them were only allowed to transfer as agents. Word on the street is also that newly-trained TL's aren't being given the option to go hired on, presumably because this would indicate that there are open TL slots in PHX for which transferring TL's are supposed to get first(I think).

But didn't PHX get two or three TL's this summer transferred from the East Coast...?

Yes but only 2 one from PIT and one from PHL. The guy from PHL is good friend with the AGC for PHX Frank O'Donnell and he was going to file a grievance. Management new this so they threw them a bone to keep it quiet and they let the 2 senior people on the list in. So if anybody has a bid in for PHX especially for lead I would strongly encourage you to file a grievance.

Jester...

I love yer taunts... but we have serious business at hand. Your convoluted ideologies omit realities we... ‘trade unionist’ must address everyday! I especially loved how you referred to multiple job changes as careers! A man of words... such as you... should know the meaning of the word career. (Life long achievement)

Seven (7) occupations, or job changes in the average workers life is the byproduct of pipe dreams perpetuated by your Corporate Idols! Trade Unionist; do not participate in entertaining this distorted perception of reality.

Your doomsday scenarios of the company’s demise are obviously a scare tactic... aimed at intimidating Fleet Workers.

No wonder you wish to remain anonymous!

So continually calls into question... your perverse alchemy...

Your Dearest, Mr. BroBilly, Esqr.

P.S. I like tha “Mexican Riceâ€￾... ain’t it sold by tha third party growers?

Lead agents openings are filled by COB system seniority. No displacement can take a lead position unless they give up recall to their displaced station and hand in pe66 transfer, as well as have the seniority over other applicants. They must not be on a discipline level2 or higher, unless they are already a lead and can be on level 2 or lower. PHX management claims they are 20 leads short but are 20 over on the agents?? Also if one uses the pe66 your moving expenses are on you!!!

On the companys "Performance Program" the Level 1,2, and 3. If you are put on a level is it correct that it goes away after a year of active service and your record is clean again?

My Dearest Mr. Roabilly,

It was very perceptive of you to extract a definition of "career," but it was only one of several for which would be valid. However, my intent as to "career" would be "a person's progress or general course of action through life or through a phase of life, as in some profession or undertaking."
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/career (Emphasis added.) Ergo one may, in fact, have several careers through various phases of life, as you may experience in a post-US Airways phase in your life.

My Gentle Sir, while you express unfailing commitment to your trade unionist cause, let us not delude ourselves from reality in the process. Two bankruptcies in a few years, and a stock price hovering under $3/share does not provide much comfort to me, nor should it for any employee. Many predictions of a liquidity crisis burdened by a bad economy are foreboding upon the survival of this company. As Nero played a fiddle while Rome burned, you might be picking a banjo instead of picking through a college catalogue. Sadly, none of us may not have the luxury to avoid "entertaining this distorted perception of reality," as you so richly rebuked and find ourselves in another career regardless. Your claims of me employing a 'scare tactic' I believe would be you nervously whistling by the Airlines Graveyard of History.

Black or pinto beans?

So Entices Jester.
