US Pilots Labor Discussion

No luck needed! Convincing a jury to Convict your scab union was a piece of cake the first time.
Twice as easy next time...if it gets that far. Imo Silver will end this via the company. Keep your scab CIRP team close!
And it goes right to the 9th. Another Arizona Judge who doesn't understand Internal Union Issues gets teed up by a bunch of Harvard Clerks. Love it!

I'd like to make a point from the perspective of the customer service group. The games being played among the pilot groups are obvious to us and to the public. Your inane antics are splintering the camaraderie between all employee groups.
We recently had one of your yellow lanyard captains say he "spotted" a few loose panel fasteners on the vertical stabilizer of a 319. Maintenance had to go up in the bucket with a cordless driver to torque a couple fasteners that were no way visible to the naked eye on a walk around. They essentially had to "snug" these fasteners. I’m sure over time one could find this issue on any aircraft in the commercial fleet in this country. This was only a minor incident, yet blatantly a petty stunt.
While there are legitimate maintenance issues that affect the safety of a flight, there is a ground swell of activity by some of our pilots to intentionally disrupt the flow of our operation with frivolous maintenance issues. This activity is a reflection on how you feel about the capacity of our maintenance workers, customer service workers, our dispatchers and most importantly, our customers. They have a choice, they can walk, we can’t.
Your job action is raising hell at the airports. We hear your conversations and watch your actions. Most of our pilots are true professionals and are embarrassed over the actions of the minority. Those who are causing the problems should get a life or get a new job, if you can find one.
Sparrowhawk- there seems to be some sort of issue at the airline because pilots are being safe. Here we have an agent complaining the airline is coming apart because of it. I say the pilots are keeping the place safe, along with the mechanics doing a fine job repairing defective issues. I don't get what the complaints are about. The airline has started a very nice safety campaign, signs are everywhere. Pilots are doing their part to keep standards high.

@Blackswan,

I hope you are right in every word of your post. I would love to wrong and post an apology on this board and you could all throw cyber stones at me. However I don't think it will play out that way.

He's not looking for concessions as all he has to do is maintain the current wage structure and he's Jesus on a stick. Guys like Glass have no conscience, morals, values, ethics or sense of fair play. He is a ruthless win at all cost hired gun. There are some legal scenarios with the pilot situation that could harm US Airways and DP & SK both personally & professionally. So they brought in the man with the Big Iron on his hip.

I have no dog in this fight, However I can sum this "conflcit" up in one word "SHOCKING". Oh from time to time I look up topics on the net in attempt to gather true facts about a topic, (like lowfat, now just because a label sais low fat does not mean it is low fat, even though everyone may believe it to be true)

So here is the bottom line, everything being equal in todays legal environment, Eventually USAPA will lose, utterly shocking that anyone could think otherwise. Their "union" was formed to skirt an arbitration award.

With that being said, are the old america west guys actually being forced to pay union dues to a union that does not represent them, question?

I find it shocking that someone on here posts "so what I am going to retire, it will not have an impact on me" what utter arrogance. The livelyhood of thousands of people depend on US airways, not just the livelyhood of pilots

Conventional wisdom believes the best way to survive is by merger (true only time will tell?) Parker was visionary with this concept and tried desperately to get a deal done, the us airways pilots are a huge hurdle to overcome to get this done, the latest UNITED/USairways deal had to be structure to circumvent the pilots, it could not be done so Continental got involved, end of ballgame.

USAPA either does not care or does not realize how much damage they are doiing, not just their jobs but thousands of jobs.

You thnk Parker really cares? low wages are better for shareholders, of course he will go through the motions (legally and otherwiise) to prevent liability. USairways management iis going to court to see how to proceed with the contract, think about it, how patheitic is that.

While researching this topic, going through Nic, and reading usapa press releases, well again shocking is all I can say, on May 31 (I believe) usapa put out a press release stating how they were suing usairways to prevent usairways from going to court so that usariways could determine how to proceed with the pilot contract, huh, what are you kiidding me? Anyway usapa lost this motion (or whatever you call it) but you never saw a press release about that!!!!

Yep sometimes just because a container sais low fat does not mean it is low fat in fact it may be filled with excrement.

How can a Eastcoast guy look his children, friends, wife in the eye and say yep I renigged on my word, on binding arbitration, I just dont get it.

All the WEst and the EAST have got to get together here, this has got to stop, the longterm future depends on it, Enough

Well sir let me splain it to ya........ARBITRATION......NO WINDFALLS....MAINTAIN CAREER EXPECTATIONS
placing a new hire (3 months) senior to a 17 year dues paying never furloughed pilot is NEVER acceptable
to someone with a ounce of decency and respect for the job. Not that junior east guys fault that management never managed...
paid 2 billion for 2 companies and did not know what to do with....then dismantled both pissing away 2 billion (PSA/Piedmont)
and then later spent 1.5-2 billion buying stock back to further enrich themselves at ouy expense....think U could have used tht 2 billion after 9-11
AND THEN THE ARBITRATOR USES THE FINANCIAL WEAKNESS TO PENALYZE THIS GROUP.
well sir if you don't get it..... then you and the horse you rode in on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS our furloughed guys were placed at the bottom....hard to argue with that....but before the NIC list was even put out 500
of them were back working......but still junior to the 2-3 month guys...Sorry no surrender!!!

So when it is your time to reap what the other employee groups received the airline can pony up because the passenger service group took care of the customers during bad times

You know what? The more you roll around on the floor and complain how unfair Nic was about the award the more I could care less. Did you or did you not agree to binding arbitration to resolve a seniority dispute? I only need one answer. It us a simple yes or no.

I really don't give a damn if you like the outcome or not you big crybaby. You agreed to a process and by God me and my friends are going to hold your feet to the fire until the cows come home.

You ain't picking up the chips and walking away from the table I am sitting at. Not without a fight. If you want one, you got it. I will not tolerate people who are cheaters. I confront them.

Comprende amigo?

time will tell.
but it will be a long time.
in the meantime we can enjoy our attrition...
separate ops, enjoy your money losing operation.

but this time expect the jury to hear how you put a new hire next to a 17 year non furloughed pilot...
No more hiding all the evidence....
the truth will set you free!

In the mean time thanks for 3 more years of LOA 93.......

Right after the jury hears how you want to put a Reserve F/O ahead of a Captain on the same airplane.

I was there when the jury read the GUILTY verdict and I was there turn my back on Sully after his BS testimony about integrity. I'll be there again for DFRII.

Guaranteed.

OK mister high and mighty answer this YES or NO will be fine.
Should the number 1 guy at Airtran with 15 years be right below
the number 1 guy at SW with 35 years.....after all isn't that what
his seniority can BUY him at AT.........and subsequently,,,at SW
.....give it your best shot....we are all holding our breath!!!!

I cringe every time an East pilot accuses the West pilot group of being unprofessional and inexperienced.
I understand, and I appreciate that. To me, it's just that bringing up accidents, that can happen to anyone, in a spiteful manner is akin to pissing on graves.

There is plenty of other material to work with, without resorting to that.
