US Pilots Labor Discussion

You've got it figured out, it's amazing how many west pilots still don't. West guy after west guy gets up and tries to pin Parker with the tough question, with the same result, egg on our faces and more talking points for the east. I wouldn't ask Parker squat.
I agree. Last time I had CQT they had a crew news and I decided not to attend.

Regards,

Bob

I have a lower opinion of this management. I don't the whole bunch of them have the brains to pour pee out of a boot even if the instructions are written on the heel!

Bob

I totally disagree- your payscale proves otherwise. These guys are either Wall Street geniuses or you guys are emotional extremists completely removed from reality which allow corporate bonuses to soar because of cheap labor from what historically is the most expensive labor group. Personally I feel it is a combination of both, no offense intended. Seven years running on a bk payscale without a payraise and there won't be one for another couple of years- WOW! Perhaps I am giving Parker all the credit when some of that recognition should be directed your way, I don't know. You guys have done a lot to slow this process down to a crawl and that credit is 100% yours. Go team!

Regards,

Hank.

Hank?

I think you give us too much credit for slowing things down, it is more a team effort. Who says we can't work together? Have a nice weekend, unusual weather in Md. for this time of year, 60 degrees now and low humidity, sad to say that will soon change.

Bob

Now here is another issue I believe we could ALL benefit our groups, East or West.....QUIT ATTENDING THE ROAD SHOWS!

F/A's. Pilots, G/S instructors and everyone else should just not attend or at least if they've invaded your classroom don't bother to ask questions, especially if your sure you know what the answer will be. Even if you don't it's probably not important enough to be answered by them at any rate.

Now that would send a message no matter WHICH side of the Mississippi you are on.

Lots a good ole problem solving in this thread isnt there? 🙂 NOT! I see Randy and Susie and Tommy and buck.... Oh that the Romper room kids show....

No the better would be a plain old reliable Timex vs a cheap Rolex knockoff. One has a history of successfully battling Southwest for 25 yrs +, the other a miserable history of retreat.

Global Carrier of Choice. Didn't you hear me, GLOBAL!
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT, you leave LAS and shift over 25% of your flying to the EAST, Good thing you had somwhere to go! Reminds me of this gem! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1UZy7SSdDI&feature=relatedMM!

Common, guys...quit with the "your guys" vs. "our guys". It solves nothing. Labor is in the tank across the whole labor market.

Why? I can speak from experience in my business, I can't hire anyone else because retail market conditions are so bad. If you guys all think you have it bad better think again, the "HIDDEN" unemployment rate is probably TWICE whats advertized and from where my business is I think I can safely say that is still a low figure.

The problem we have as P-I-L-O-T-S is the same problem all of us have as L-A-B-O-R...."THE FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION AND TAXES". The focus on seniority certainly is trite in the grand scheme of things.

If, and I MEAN IF, labor we're to look at themselves as small business(s) we actually might get some where. Your "brother" is your local grocery store or your "sister" is your local hardware store. That's the way our country was up and until the government forced us to take our money out of piggy banks and put them in 401K so you could "avoid" taxes and let the banks and financial institutions invest it in big companies for you.

Labor needs to unite and force the government to GIVE US OUR FU$KING DESTINY BACK and let us be that "thousand points of light" we were told we were and not one big STAR....those thing supernova you know and I think that is where our economy is today.

Our country was NOT mean't to run as the United States of CORPORATE America and the fight in Congress and the debt is where a stand has FINALLY been taken....although it may be a day late and a dollar short. In any case the piper has played and we eat it now or we eat it later and I don't mean in 50 years....if anything it could be 50 days.

I went to the Charlotte meeting last tuesday and saw Roger Velez in there on his overnight I guess, taking notes on what was being said so he can take it back to AOL and try to give it to Posinelli/Shugart for additional insight, I guess, as to what was being said by the officers. More like Maxwell Smart over here.

I voiced to the BPR Charlotte reps that I was probably not going to run this time because if they were going to run and were still willing to do the job.....and it's a BIG job, then I saw no sense in upsetting the continuity of the base. They are doing a great job representing our interests, they have been doing a fine job up until now and I don't believe I could do the job any better than they are. And in these uncertain times it's most likely best not to change positions in the canoe in fast running water and rapids.

If West pilots desire change, they better reconsider what they can do to contribute to change that benefits ALL the pilots and not just what ALPA promises.....because no matter how long the court case drags on, none of us gets no where together with US Airways until we get to vote.

Here it comes......GOOD LUCK!

The west has patience. Your group can't afford patience. You promised a quick DOH contract 4 YEARS ago to your cronies. You effed up badly. I'm more than happy to let this path you chose grind on in the courts, meanwhile LOA 93 is grinding you into poverty.

Now luvn, you know the brat has to distort, exaggerate, and spin everything about HP out of recognition just so he can get in his "you weren't at the top of the heap either" jabs...

Jim

Ah, the old troll is back. Where ya been Jimbob? Well, I don't think I distort, but you have shown that you outright lie. Ready to falsely out someone again, is that why you're back?

Wrong again. What exactly about HP have I spun out of control? Have they ever been considered one of the worlds great airlines? Didn't they have some very public operational problems over the years? Have they ever had a contract that reached the other majors levels-before all the others sunk to theirs? NO!

I counter the arrogant BS from some west posters. We all worked for also-ran airlines. They just for once want to feel superior to someone.

You just mad at me because I caught you and showed your for what you really are. WPOS.

Yeah this poverty stuff sucks. You must have never been around poverty. If this is your entire plan, you are going to be disappointed. When this all started, could you have pictured it going on this long, with absolutely no progress, and guys not rising up over it? Well, it has, and they haven't.

Who would know? The dictatorship has a death grip on free communications. BTW, there has been plenty of progress. You now know with certainty what a neutral jury thinks of USAPA. The company sure as hell didn't miss that either. Oh well. LOA 93 is your choice. I'm happy for you.

Do you guys think Parker and our management team are geniuses or idiots? From various posts I can't tell.

I don't think the management team had the foresight to plan out and take advantage of what has happened with us. I think it fell in their lap and it did so at a time when some of their decisions were about to come home to roost and they could not afford to pass the savings by, so they perpetuated the standoff. In the short term it has profited them well, but I believe it will bite them long term. The poor morale is spreading through this company like wildfire, at least with the groups I deal with, and it's not just about pay. Of course in the current tradition of American corporate management, they will set up their pay, bonuses and separation pay to be fit for a king and then when it hits the fan, take off and so "Oh well, I tried!"

Who would know what? Don't understand that.

We are exactly where we were that day USAPA was elected. Two separate groups, two separate operations, stuck in our old contracts. Yes, a jury found USAPA guilty, but the only thing that verdict has done is drag this out. Honestly, without some outside event like a merger, do you see the DA(DJ, whatever it is) finishing in less than 3-5 years? Then a contract, then a passing vote on the contract, and THEN if USAPA come out on top of the DA, 3-5 years of DFR II. I'll ask again since I didn't see anyone answer it, how long did TWA's battle take?

LOA 93 is not my choice. It's what I'm stuck with because my side of this collective group decided to take a certain path. You are stuck with your contract, limited movement and huge outside legal bills because of your side's collective decisions. Fine. I don't like it, I just don't have a workable solution to change it other than letting the legal system sort it out, then try to pick up the pieces. I actually think that will be the really hard part.

Agree 100% with you.
Parker is stupid lucky, or lucky stupid. Dunno how to say it best.
