I went to the Charlotte meeting last tuesday and saw Roger Velez in there on his overnight I guess, taking notes on what was being said so he can take it back to AOL and try to give it to Posinelli/Shugart for additional insight, I guess, as to what was being said by the officers. More like Maxwell Smart over here.
I voiced to the BPR Charlotte reps that I was probably not going to run this time because if they were going to run and were still willing to do the job.....and it's a BIG job, then I saw no sense in upsetting the continuity of the base. They are doing a great job representing our interests, they have been doing a fine job up until now and I don't believe I could do the job any better than they are. And in these uncertain times it's most likely best not to change positions in the canoe in fast running water and rapids.
If West pilots desire change, they better reconsider what they can do to contribute to change that benefits ALL the pilots and not just what ALPA promises.....because no matter how long the court case drags on, none of us gets no where together with US Airways until we get to vote.
Here it comes......GOOD LUCK!
EOA,
I have not spoken to Roger, but could it be that he was at the meeting taking notes because he is a PHX rep, and as such he simply wanted to communicate what transpired to the PHX domicile?
I mean, if he was there as a covert operative, would not the president had called him a felon and had him illegaly evicted like the last meeting?
The only way to get to the contribution to change that you speak of in your surprisingly moderate post, is because people like Roger have enough integrity to disregard the over the top libelous actions of the moron who holds the presidents office, and continue to do their job.
Thanks for verifying that Roger Valez has more integrity and intestinal fortitude than the rest of the BPR combined.
