US Pilots Labor Discussion

Not a teabagger, but not a big fan of unions that have to intimidate their members.

So, "teabaggers" intimidate their members? That might certainly qualify as another way to define as a verb, "teabaggers", those who "stimulate" a male's, um, rocks?

So, you think (and that might be an unwarranted assumption) that teabaggers do not intimidate their members?

I agree with you, unions should never "intimidate" their members. They should educate their members so they will make educated decisions, unlike teabaggers or those who depend on Faux news.

Do you have evidence of unions "intimidating" their members? Try to be specific. Starting with USAPA. I don't think you can do it.

Stop deflecting with tea party...it has nothing to do with this.

OK, how about the US rampers trapping the HP rampers in the room and beating the #### out of them.

Really...come on...unions are all about intimidation. You are a big boy, google it, I ain't your teacher. (I've had more stimulating conversations with my dog) 😛

Two threats in under a week is pretty suspicious. Now the FBI is getting involved.

Threat delays Phoenix-bound US Airways flight

by Emily Gersema - Aug. 8, 2011 05:24 PM
The Arizona Republic

US Airways officials are releasing more details about a St.Louis-Phoenix flight threat that occurred Monday.
Spokeswoman Valerie Wunder said USAirways Flight 1500 was stopped in Phoenix after it received a threat while it was in the air from St. Louis.
The flight of 91 passengers had left St. Louis late because of a "crew issue," she said, but declined to be specific.

The flight was scheduled to leave St. Louis at 7:35 a.m. CST, but it did not take off until 10:06 a.m.
The flight arrived in Phoenix at 11:55 a.m. MST, almost three hours later than its slated arrival of 9:06 a.m.
Wunder said authorities inspected the plane after it landed.
The plane then was scheduled to fly from Phoenix to San Francisco, but that flight also was delayed, making it about five hours late. Wunder said it was scheduled to arrive in San Francisco at 5:19 PST.

Can't wait until the judge orders a TRO against USAPA.

Guys like that douche that wrote that pink panty email can then be fined and/or jailed.

The company filed a TRO today....Company Files Motion in NC Court for Restraining Order

Here is Doc 29 including ALL supporting docs, Plaintiff's Motion for a TRO on defendants USAPA and Cleary.

I tried but am not able to post the .pdf file.....

The is the way it works in the Progressive/Liberal/Union world. If you can't refute the argument people resort to name calling. I've never been a giant fan of unions. However I will say that in the case of US I think the unions have legitimate issues and I fault Sr Management.

The whole pilot debacle can be summed up in 4 initials, ALPA. Unions like ALPA are the reason that you don't like unions. The haircut the original US pilots got would make a drill instructor proud and these folks are way past pissed. Some to the point of being irrational and blind with rage.

I don't expect the HP folks to fully grasp the historical aspects of the dispute, hell they really shouldn't have to, However it is the 800 lb in the room and it's the root cause as to how the seniority integration went to hell in a hand basket.

Could Parker have stepped in and stopped this debacle before it spiraled out of control? I think he had a shot at it, but his bean counter background background got in the way.

Bottom line is no one needs to be calling anyone names.

The Delta Northwest pilot arbitration went the same way and you don't see the Nortwest pilots acting like spoiled brats.

By the way, the Shuttle and the Frontier Republic arbitrations went the same way also, i.e. slotting by equipment and status.

The NW pilots were treated with respect, moved up a level in their contract, and are happy with where they are.

The East pilots are being sucked down the toilet, being treated like crap, and are fighting off being raped in seniority.

apples and oranges.

Sorry I'll have to take you at your word as I have absolutely no knowledge of what happened there

The seniority award at Delta/NWA was handled just like yours.

Apples and apples

Man up and accept the arbitration award.

Not only was the award different, so was the process. As I recall, DL/NW used a panel of 3 arbitrators. Did the ALPA President use the term "problematic" to describe your award? Did ALPA try to broker a compromise to fix some of the inequities in your award (only to ask us to "take one for the team" later)???

Let's remove 15 years of your seniority Delta and see how you like it...

YOU man up.

Regardless of the number of arbitrators, the award was similar. The two groups were integrated proportionally by seat and aircraft class, with a very small credit (115 slots?) given to the NWA side for some imminent retirements. Just like you guys. Just like the Pan Am merger, where the PA A310 guys were ratioed in with the 767ER guys and the 727 shuttle guys were ratioed in with the DL 727 guys.

Your award was "problematic" because the USAirways pilots blew a gasket over the award. The fact that ALPA tried to broker a compromise was due to the weak union leadership that (a) didn't prepare the pilot group for the unpredictable nature of binding arbitration, and then (B) tried to mitigate the East hysteria after the award.

Did you ever notice how the pay increase for added years of service is very small, and the increase for changing seat or equipment is much bigger? That'll show you what 15 years of seniority is worth.
