US Pilots Labor Discussion

Ya see Clubber, that's where the east and west differ. We don't operate on the basis of fear. Follow the rules, be steadfast in pursuing justice, and don't allow emotion to drive actions - the west way.

I'm gonna hurl...

Actually, fear is exactly how the west operates. It is the only way PHX knows how to manage.

Planting spies in cabin, supervisors hurling themselves at the cockpit, spies in the towers. HR is a pretty active component of your west operation. Morons.

Counselor, your "headline" is accurate (the second union rejection of a union, BTW), but your link goes to the reply page in the US pilot's thread. Here I was thinking legal eagles were big on details...

Is it a west pilot sitting in the senior VP of flights ops office? Is Ed Schmit from the west? Lyle Hogg ever based in PHX? East pilots these are your guys not ours.

Besides the west pilots are not doing anything wrong so they can waste their time watching us all day. Nothing to worry about for us. Maybe they are learning how to do it right so they can correct poor performance from you "experienced" east pilots.

Yeah, like 20 single engine taxi'ers waiting for takeoff on 25R, and we taxied with two engines for seven minutes, taking the initiative to request and get 26. Who saved more gas?

You may be following your orders but like anyone stepping over dollars to pick up pennies you completely miss the point. Forest for trees, etc.

No wonder Mr. Parker despises you all, you are like unthinking robots.

The tower controllers assign takeoff runways based on projected arrival flow at the time the taxi clearance is issued. The shorter taxi is often more than wasted because of required spacing on departures heading north and east, which delays takeoffs. So you got lucky, happens all the time.

What, you think you invented air or something, junior? 😛

The key phrase is "projected", something you seem to take to heart.

Those of us with experience, something many of you seem to lack, know the real meaning of the word and will always, if we want to, burn less gas in less time than you.

Always.

Live and learn, rookie.

Typically, 26 would not hav been available for you, unless it was for operational requirements.

However, to answere your question. The 20 waiting in line with 1 engine running all saved the company more gas by getting you and your 2 burning into the air wher you probably also need schooling on how to save gas,,,but thaq is another topic altogether.

Typically.....

This is one of those situations where the simple answer is often wrong...

Getting airborne quicker by getting clearance to use 26 saved fuel for one airplane. However, those waiting their turn on 25R may have had to wait longer for T/O due to that 1 airplane. Because of that one airplane did they cumulatively burn more fuel than that one airplane saved? If so that one airplane wasted fuel when you look at the big picture, but the captain got to say "I showed those fools how it's done"....

Those westies did not even ask to use 26. Not a one.

We asked for 26 and were then asked what "operational requirements" we needed. We said that we needed the same operational requirements as the Dash 8 that just took off runway 26.

Not one westie was listening, much less, thinking, apparently. Is this normal in PHX?

It could very likely have to do with experience, apparently. (Yeah, it was the very experienced (20+ year) copilot who actually suggested the plan of action). Even a 7 year SWA pilot could have figured that out, but then, they are not pounded down continually by tempe cretins.

See the problem, jim?

If you want to collect your $9 billion call Wolfe don't try and take it from the west pilots. We will not let you take our careers and replace them with yours.

First of all, at this point in time, the only jobs/careers that you "own" are in PHX and we sure as hell are not interested in anything that you have. Are you suggesting that you "own" the careers on the East side? Pure greed! I haven't seen any of you guys in the east metal cockpits. IMO, that is where the greed lies...you think you "own" it all...that kind of entitlement thinking is going to bite you in the butt. We have everything still intact and will never see one of your butts owning anything on the east in the next several years. Like I posted before....our seniority is worth the fight....we have nothing to lose at this point. You guys are naive to think we will give up anything.

Keep your pathetic careers....pretty bold talk for someone who's only possesion is their AW date of hire.

We cooperate with ATC and the system works well. Clubby and his USAPA Cliff Divers aren't willing to cooperate with anyone and think they're smarter than anyone, but the proof is what they have to show for it. Win a battle or two (if they're lucky), but badly lose the war.

You know, spent cartridges and all....
