Only because of his enablers in Charlotte. If they had showed a committment to unity rather than their land grab, pilot labor would have the leverage to fight in any upcoming merger scenario.

Can you wait for a merger announcement to be made before you start yapping about how the merger arguments are going to be just like the West line of reasoning?

They(AWA) honestly believe because of our superb financial position, no other entity could possibly have the financial resources to put a deal together, DUI Doug Parker isn't capable of running or putting those type of transactions together, My guess is Citi is still wondering if he will make his 1.14bill payment in 23mos, AMR will probably emerge on their own a leaner STRONGER COMPETITOR, (on the backs of its employees), and continue to challenge that cactus revenue, the olympics in london will sure help their revenue! Besides you honestly think other carriers ie WN are just going to sit around and let it happen? DREAM ON! My hopes and prayers to all AMR employees and their families!

Last spring when WN announced the Airtran merger, they did not announce their code share with Volaris serving Latin and South America, but they did announce that in two years they would be serving TA. I scratched my head then, but now? Who knew?

They (AMR) have 18.5 billion in pension obligations and 8 bil in assets.........what do you think?
