US Pilots Labor Discussion

Well if nothing else, The AA BK will add another 300 or so pages to this poo slinging thread!

Wonder what the record is for pages and posts on a web board thread?

So what has changed?

Nothing percentage wise, that is the whole point. 36% was divided among the East pilots in LOA93. Now, the same 36% is divided among the East AND West pilots courtesy of LOA96. Another East MEC give away.

Don't you get it?

Westies, what do we do to them?

A merger is a foregone conclusion after all,.... Right?

Just got a call from a friend of mine at AA he had turned in his paperwork for early out so he could get his lump sum. He wasnt sure how many senior guys went but he said they are going to have trouble crewing aircraft.

Been 6.5 weeks since you said the LOA93 decision is just days away.

Are you EVER right?
Well actually since there are, for your lack of understanding, anything but your ability to achieve anything but mediocrity in this life, 365 days in a year, yes days away, never said how many, but then for you, way beyond your comprehension! MM! But as a lonely AWA mngmnt employee it doesn't shock any of the EAST!

And don't you get that the west brings money into the profit sharing pool as well?

I assume you don't get that.

Holly "hate em' all except SWA" at Planebusiness attributed one of the reasons for the filing to the large number of pilots trying to retire in December.

I hope all that wanted to go are able to do so with full benefits.

Does anyone know how much the pension fund, for lack of a better word, helps the company's liquid cash position? I am asking. I suspect the answer is a great deal, thus the phrase "raiding the pensions."

Many have said it today, but I also hope discussions here about how the AA BK effects US Airways do not imply any lack of concern for those in the crosshairs. U/AWA and AMR may or may not end up together, but either way all our futures are now changed.

As to the comments about DOH and AMR, many of you are way ahead of events. DOH will indeed work just fine in ANY merger, with the proper fences and restrictions.

Watch and learn.

If you're talking about the $4+ billion they have on hand, none as far as I can tell. Of course, any scheduled future contributions would have come out of that so if they're not made the amount of liquidity wouldn't take the hit that it otherwise would have when that contribution was made.

That would be similiar to US when it entered BK II. A pension contribution was coming up, which if made would have pushed the "cash" level below that specified in some of the loan agreements, requiring repayment, which would have pushed the liquidity below that required by the credit card processor agreement, which would have....etc. So US filed at least partially to avoid making that pension contribution.

Watch and learn? Really? You think your group has any credibility left? The USAPA Brain Trust should file for bankruptcy!
