I'm beginning to think that the only way we will get off LOA93 is through a door labeled NIC.
And the only way to access that door, is through a union called ALPA.
And the only way back to ALPA is a card drive.
And the only way to start a card drive is for CM to start working on one.

Someone please slap me.

Point 2: Only if you want FURTHER delay. If you have enough people to vote in ALPA, then you have enough JUICE to change the USAPA CBL's to reflect the Nicolau seniority list. You also have enough JUICE to dethrone Cleary, Mowrey & the DOH gang. You also have enough JUICE to change the fabric of USAPA's key committees and dash to the negotiating table and REALLY start negotiating an industry standard contract (vs. a give away program to ensure DOH at all costs).

ALL of this could be done with the right pressure and new leadership. A card drive and ramp up to negotiate under the ALPA flag? 3 years MINIMUM for your new contract.

I've always tried to work that way, forgive and forget. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't, but as I posted before our group has let hate and anger blind us for years. How one side handles "victory" goes a long way towards that.

This event doesn't change anything, right now. Will it be the tipping point you guys hope for? I have no idea. At least I hope that's the only reason you would cheer a pilot group not getting more money.

If it's the Kirby+Nic, I'll take LOA 93.

Nice thoughts Pi. But honestly I think there has been irreparable harm done. After all the east has done to the west you can forget the "gee I feel bad for you guys" sentiment. You guys walked out of JNC. You tried to sue our MEC. You brought RICO charges to innocent people for crying out loud! You allowed furloughs out of seniority order (even by your DOH "gold standard"). You killed hope of benefits for west furloughed pilots (east got them though!). You, to this day, refuse to bring west grievances. You trumped up fake identity theft charges. You effectively eliminated any opportunity for leverage in real JCBA negotiations by shooting your wad early. Sadly I am sure there is much more but these are the only things I can bring to mind in a timely manner. At the end of the day whether involved in the acts or simply watching from the sidelines NONE of you came to offer us anything but a punch in the gut and kick to the face while we were down. You (collectively) can rot in LOA93 land for all I care.

Will be interesting to see what goes down at the east in new few weeks. Lots of senior guys over 60 have said they were still here only because they were waiting to see if Loa 93 was a win. Didn't want to retire in off chance it was a win.

So question now is, will they go now that it is out? And if so, how many? If they stay there is a good chance the first T/A out for a vote would pass if it had a decent raise for them. If they have had enough and leave, then it's that much harder to get a NIC passed with a bunch of upgrades going that would be shut down by a NIC.

Interesting times ahead as always. 😀

Who owns and manages the LTD on the east? I thought it was the company. Can the company be more forceful in who and how many use it to bailout early without true cause? Especially with a Federal injunction imposed against usapa by Judge Conrad.

We succeed by following the letter of the law, by working together for the good of all, not just a group that controls the voting power. Strange concepts for you, I know, otherwise you wouldn't need to have asked. Get it?

I'm sure that all sides of the Middle East issue can list things to support their actions and POV. How's that been working out for them?

I understand how you feel and why, I'm just saying that if both sides don't get past it one day it will haunt us for our careers. History says that is probably a foregone conclusion now.

You are full of it. I went to the mat over the C18 issue. So much that it made me a pariah within USAPA and pretty much unable to do anything else. I felt that strongly about it. I did that to only have the a west rep tell me to drop it, he didn't want me to pursue it. So you know what you can do with that.
