US Pilots Labor Discussion

I am suggesting that we both worked for also ran airlines. That's why we ended up together. As I told Ames, I don't remember anyone beating down your door. You have the benefit of hindsight yet you still can't see reality. On what planet did EF's career expectations include A330s to Europe? At least for our furloughed pilots it was a possibility.
So, in your expert analysis there is absolutely no possible way that AWA could possibly have ever attained the routes and AC to make this possible? Now wait a minute, didn't the company that EF worked for in 2005 successfully merge (reverse acquisition by AWA for accounting purposes don't forget) with another airline and then instantly attain new career possibilities for everyone at AWA? If AWA would have merged with UA, DL, or NW instead EF's career expectations would have likewise been enhanced by a Management team that sought ways to be successful and expand their marketshare. The only difference if one of those mergers would have occurred is that EF wouldn't have had to compete for an active position with 1700 guys on furlough with 1-2 decades of DOH under their belts. Do you think EF would have been better or worse off under one of those scenarios than he would be the way USAPA wants to bludgeon his career expectations?

Thank you for recognising my expert opinion. Could you talk to Jim?

You like to mix terms. Pre-merger when it suits, post-merger when it suits. Absent a merger I can't see an A330 at AWA to Europe within this time frame.

CG, the bottom 2/3s of the west list got a windfall as their career progresses. Any claim otherwise is bullshit. You can say it is fair, but you can't say it didn't happen with the Nic.

You remind me of a group in the Bible. What was that term?

So Parker's goals required a violation of ALPA merger policy?

No they didn't, but Nicolau did anyway, IMHO. Avoid windfalls. You cannot say they Nic didn't produce any windfall. Well, you can, but you would be wrong. As always, IMHO.

There, it's only your opinion. A neutral 3rd party and alpa executive council say you are wrong, so therefore you are. Case closed.

As I've always said. But somehow the case is not closed yet, is it?

I'm not mixing terms at all. The west pilots' pre-merger career expectations were much brighter and healthier than any furloughed pilot on the east. You can disagree until the cows come home, but at least I have a highly respected neutral arbitrator who has stated the same; what indepent, respected experts do you have who claim the same as you?

A junior west pilot had the benefit of working for Doug Parker who has been the industry's most vocal advocate for consolidation, mergers and acquisitions. As CEO of AWA he managed his airline and kept it out of bankruptcy while most of his peers jumped into court protection to keep their compaies from liquidation. I believe that it was a foregone conclusion that Parker would lead a merger to strengthen AWA and provide more opportunities for those who were working for him. If you are going to to tie your balloon strings to any airline CEO over the past decade, Parker would be your number one or number two choice if you are thinking objectively.

There is and was no windfall to the west. How many times do I have to demonstrate that to you? Last time I asked you to give your definitions of what constitutes a windfall and then I proved by your own definition that this did not occur with the NIC. If there was a windfall then it would have long ago been proven by Management refusing to accep the list or the east MEC successfully overturning the award. Just because you can't accept the plain and simple facts does not mean your skewed interpretation is valid.

You want to discuss the Bible? I'm good with that. I have Master's-level training from a highly respected and accredited conservative seminary. Got all As too (and way harder coursework than my Bachelors' and Masters' degrees I attained in business administration from secular schools). . So, your point was what again?

Did West Captain McNerlin get a windfall when he went from #1 all the way to #518 on the Nicolau Award?

Well, I have Brucia and many other airline pilots.

You count working for Doug Parker as a benefit? Huh. So, why did you end up with US Airways. What happened with UA? I don't know, I might tie with Gordon Bethune, if I had the choice.

As I said, if you will not accept the windfall, you are full of it.

Master's level training, but not Master's. What was the name of the institution? Pharisee, that's it.

Nope, and the NMB agrees- parked until the courts finish the DJ ( at least). You guys should be off LOA93 by 2017 though, but because you are so dysfunctional expect to have a new contract valued about the same as Mesa. You east boys are very unimpressive, collectively and individually.

No, he got screwed and YOU got that windfall. Just like the one you got at PSA. You are just mad that you can't claim your windfall of shortening your commute, something that we can pretty much all agree that probably wasn't going to happen again for you at your age.

Oh we missed you. So, what contract will you be under then? Since you are so smart and all.

You still think you have a chance Pi?

Hey, it's MSU. Where you been? I thought maybe a moon shot or something since I haven't seen you gone that long for a while.

So, how about that AA offer being better than the Kirby, much less the west rates?
