Longevity is not seniority... Then why don't we fill Capt. Positions by our performance in the sim, or by submitting a resume to the chief pilot?

One of my problems with the Nic was the WB "protection" scheme of giving the east all WB positions on top, not just the captains.

I agree. He made a mistake slotting the WB F/O positions ahead of the 320/737 Captain positions.

DOH becomes less meaningful when two or more separate companies are integrated into one.....

In all sincerity ; Why? Your DOH is with you from the glorious day you get hired with a major airline. Its tattooed across your forehead, and to be told , after 28 years that it is meaningless is a pill the majority of the east pilots would rather not swallow....btw ... Are you playing callaway's now?

If you were the last pilot hired at USAir and they hired no one for 10 years are you anymore senior at year ten than year one?

No sir, the nic was accepted by the company in writing before usapa was born, that acceptance finished the sli process. Usapa proposes to reopen the sli to advantage the east. Do you believe that is not the case?

Why, because you are integrating two different companies and two different groups. If the conditions were identical at both in terms of averages the there would be no loss or gain to either group by using DOH. If there are differences between the two then an integration by DOH no longer makes sense as evidenced by the fact that no pilot integrations have gone by DOH in the last five or more mergers. Seniority is not defined by DOH it us defined by you position in contrast to the rest of the population. As Trader said if you were hired 10 years ago but still have no one with a lower number than you on the list, you have no seniority. If you were hired two years ago but have 50% of the population below you, then you are senior to half of the population. It really isn't that hard to comprehend.

I'm not on the course right now, but my bag has all Callaway clubs in it. Now as far as balls go, I play whatever I can find cheap since most will be lost by the end of the day. 🙂

And half of those "F/O" positions were actually IRO positions. Plus, he put them ahead of the 757 captain positions too.

There would be no need for Silver to make her ruling that the east should already know the answer to by intuition if the east would at any point in time just decide to honor their agreements.
