US Pilots Labor Discussion

Are you broadcasting threat of self-help here? I took you for a company uncritical enthusiast
Self-help? I think self-help may well be in the pilot's future, but not until after the courts settle the seniority issue by compelling USAPA to use the NIC award. That will not be good news for USAPA who will not be able to disrupt airline operations and in return they will get the NIC+Kirby without a ratification vote. The only way to avoid that is to negotiate in good faith with an acceptance that the NIC is it before it comes to self help.

I don't know what a company uncritical enthusiast is, but I don't think any one of those pronouns applies to me.

The East can elect whomever they want. It won't change s.22 by a single letter. Vote for Scabford, his track record for delivering on his promises is beyond reproach.

I've been trying to decide how to vote. Thanks for helping me make up my mind.

The three west appeals board guys don't play those kind of games. Every one of them is a level headed, straight shooter. Vindictiveness is not their style. The same goes for the run off candidates. Whether or not west run off candidates are a particular pilot's cup of tea is one thing, but no one need worry about vindictiveness being in their repertoire, no matter what may be thrown around on this forum.

“I am running for USAPA Vice President because I believe that I have found someone better qualified than I to sit in the President’s chair and that person is Gary Hummel. Gary is a staunch pilot advocate and he supports Date of Hire as enshrined in our constitution.”

                  -Steve Bradford

Four years ago Steve Bradford along with his sidekick lawyer Lee Seham promised us a quick contract along with the annihilation of the Nic. Not only is a final affirmation of the Nic right around the corner, but we are further away from a contract than ever.

We have yet to find any supporters of the Kirby proposal on either coast, except possibly Steve Bradford and his lawyer. This is what Seham had to say about convincing Doug Parker to accept USAPA’s date of hire list.

It seems the Kirby proposal in exchange for date of hire is a viable option for the Bradford-Hummel ticket. Remember, Bradford’s first campaign email this year ran on the promise of a Seham return.
The fact is, Gary Hummel and Steve Bradford have no ability to deliver on the centerpiece issue of their campaign - A contract with date of hire. They couldn’t do it four years ago and they certainly can’t do it today.
It appears their campaign strategy is to portray Hummel as the “awe shucks, it’s in the court’s hands" guy while Bradford projects the edgier "date of hire with no exceptions" bill of goods persona.

The only result we see from the election of this good cop-bad cop duo is a continuation of the past four years. Which by even the best estimations equates to absolutely nothing.

The polls are open, there are other options.

I second that. The guys on the appeals board are going to work for all US pilots, no matter who wins the run off. If they started ignoring east pilots, they'd start hearing an earful from not only east pilots, but west as well. Like Lynyrd said though, it won't be an issue.

I trust your opinion LS, but I have to say that if Move2 (Koontz) was elected as VP, he would be vindictive......he can't help it with his attitude.

Breeze,

I believe you are wrong. Even if you were right, would you rather have someone who is both vindictive and incompetent?

I don't know a lot about Hummel, but Bradford? Really??
