Compass Correction Coaliton Update (Message Delivered!): March 27, 2012

USAPA Voters... Message Delivered!

Your participation in the runoff election, (approaching 90%), is a wonderful result! The voters have spoken and the management of US Airways at Tempe have been put on notice that you are engaged, interested and more than eager for some results.

No matter for whom you voted; thank you for taking the time. We at the CCC are hopeful that this level of involvement is a sign of your continued supervision over the activities undertaken by the new officers and the BPR. Believe it….there is a need.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Misguided and WASTEFUL!

Certain members of your Board of Pilot Representatives have called for an additional, follow on, Special Meeting, (after the already called special meeting) – to be held this week at Charlotte. The agenda item is purely political, out of order and contrary to the USAPA Constitution and Bylaws.

CLT and part of PHL (Szpyrka and Gillies) are trying to force elected members Steve Bradford and Mark King to recuse themselves from the union Appeal Board, citing conflict of interest, where the recent election is concerned.

First of all, the BPR has zero authority and/or jurisdiction over the Appeal Board, save their authority to initiate a recall ballot (by 2/3 majority of the Board) to the membership. That is the very idea behind an independent body elected by the members to separate powers.

Nothing precludes Bill McKee from taking his appeal of the election results to the Department of Labor, should the USAPA Appeal Board’s decision be not to his liking. What he may not do is to run rough-shod over the Constitution, for his expediency.

No matter who is on the Appeal Board, they have a right to hold personal and political view; they are elected by the line Pilots for their judgment, and their ability to set aside their personal views when deliberating such matters. In a past precedent-setting case, Appeal Board Member, Tracy Parrella refused to recuse herself in a matter of charges brought against her. In the end, it is up to the judgment of the Appeal Board Member, whose character will be his or her conscience. The USAPA constitution is to be their guide!

It should be stated here that the underlying urgency and underhanded actions stem from a burning desire on the part of McKee, Crimi, Ingram, Szpyrka and Gillies to install Mike Cleary in a newly created position of Tsar of Seniority Integration. Ladies and Gentlemen; the insanity has to stop. You, the voters have spoken, and it's time for USAPA to change. Make your elected Representatives honor the results of this election and get back to the legitimate work of their offices.

Tell your Representatives that you are watching….closely. The Special Meeting agenda is a complete waste of time and your dues dollars, since the Board lacks authority in this area. Further, we must retain the independent checks-and-balances of power, prescribed in the Constitution. Congress should not tell the Supreme Court how to rule and the USAPA Board of Pilot Representatives is mandated to bug-off from meddling with the Appeal Board…..PERIOD.

Those who have served our Pilots and who are soon to be ex-Officers, should leave with dignity, preserving the honor of the Offices.

There’s no Crying in Baseball!

Rich Wargin-CLT 33 (Chairman)
Woody Menear-PHL 7i
Dave Shryack-CLT AB
Dave Ciabattoni-PHL AB

So if I understand this right: Cleary and his goons realized the majority of east pilots were on to them, so instead of facing a loss in the election, they're trying an end run by walking right over the constitution of the union. Wow, screw the west, screw the constitution, screw what the majority wants (east and west). Looks like Hummel and the others already have their work cut out for them. Too bad their focus should be on improving our situation and the union, not fight MC and the gang.

320 yells that homeless people are screaming fire in a crowded theater and everyone grabs their gas cans to run toward the theater.... The easy manipulation of my fellow bipeds makes me embarrassed to be one sometimes.🙄

HP made the offer and I accepted. Capt upgrades were 5-6 years as you know.

2005, a year I would like to forget. The windfall I remember since then has been career stagnation, furloughs, downgrades and base closures.
Hey, same story here. In '86, they were upgrading at 4-5 years. Then it stopped and upgrades for late 86 hires came at 12-13 years. For 2 years...then downgrades after 9-11. You know the rest. I'm just sayin': there are no guarantees and past performance does not indicate future returns.....As it is with most things in life.
Cheers.

It appears that we took the same path until the fork in the road divided us.

Cheers

Question from AA: how many 737's does USAir have?

Said the scab who legitimizes his job theft.

So, can you call it "job theft" if it is legal? Please try to read Jack London who defined the word, scab. You might find the definition applies to the west pilots. Then again, you may be somewhat deficient in the literary department.

Hey clubber, I hear the third listers and about 150 easties are heading for the unemployment line....again.
I heard that PHX is downsizing. Have a good day, sir. Hope you enjoy your lottery ticket in the employment line.

Wow. I've been hearing PHX is downsizing for a very long time too. And it always seems to be coming from easties such as yourself.

That would explain why we've picked up 24% of your flying, right?

And let me guess, Republic is buying us?

The employment line, sounds like good news to me. It sure sounds a lot better than the unemployment line. Please thank your sources for that information.

The point is it is not legal.

So I can call it job theft and you a scab. Get it yet?

Oh, you are right about the PHX downsizing thing. That is why the 3rd listers and a whole bunch eastholes are hitting the street. From what I hear it is going up past Odell on the Nic, and oh look, Odell is already furloughed because some easthole stole his job, so it won't bother him too much.
