US Pilots Labor Discussion

Sorry to pee in your punch bowl but the fact is the Nic is in fact locked in. It has been for years. Seham lied to you. Shocker, I know. All the steps are completed minus the joint contract. Guess what Parker did with the APA today with zero input from your worthless scab union? He just Got 90% of the way to that very joint contract. Judge Silver will be explaining this to you fairly soon.

You're getting a 40% raise if this pans out. Which considering the unemployment check you should have received 7 years ago, I'd say you're damn lucky.

The AFA appears to think their DOH list is not locked in since it isn't ratified, even though it is enshrined in their internal union agreements and "accepted" by the company. The West FAs should be ecstatic that DOH just died. And yes, you too will vote for a three way McCaskill-Bond if you got a 30% raise. Hell, you would vote for DOH with fences for a 20% raise, and you would feel pretty damn lucky. 😀

You do realize this is a two way merge, right?

There are three FA contract groups, and that is why the AFA wants to demand USAir complete a contract first, to make it two. Most union groups will be a merger with two contract groups, but the FAs and one other employee profession have three contract groups. Even a kindergartener can see the difference of three and two.

Gosh you are as dumb as the rest of the clowns. Einstein, if a 3 way list is better for the west fa's why are they demanding a single contract prior to the merge?

Fodase, I miss your gerbil posts. Can't you share?

With the FAs and pilots, USAir is operating two different contracts and is in negotiations for joint contracts of said groups (in case you missed it, those negotiations have probably been superseded by current events).

The merger (if it happens as it appears today) will be joining three different contract groups for the FAs and three different contract groups for the pilots. Who knows what negotiations will bring about...

Even many of the West FAs (who have agreed to DOH, but don't yet have a ratified seniority list) may be interested in the future negotiations... or did you think McCaskill-Bond is only applicable to pilots. (Think about it.. despite the fact that the company and USAir FAs have in principle agreed to a DOH list, it is not ratified, and the West FAs would surely do better in a McCaskill-Bond scenario with three groups. ...No doubt that is why the AFA declared today that "A contract for Flight Attendants at US Airways must be completed prior to any new merger deal." Read that as "the FA's DOH seniority has to be locked in a ratified contract first!" (To protect them from erosions of a McCaskill-Bond arbitration... Good luck with that.)

Yes.... I know, you wish the NIC was locked in already... And the East wishes DOH was locked in already... but the reality is that there are three pilot contract groups.... count them. B)
Whaaaaaaaaaat! Are you saying that DOH is not the gold standard? That M/B is not DOH?

Arbitration could come out relative? Glad that you are finally coming around to understanding reality.

What portion of: "I honestly make no assumptions as to how it will all shake out" seems so difficult to comprehend?

The part where you seem to be saying that you don't have all the answers, but I'm sure that that was only a poor attempt at humor on your part....

Sorry, but according to Mcaskill-Bond if you are represented by the same union, (which both east n west were, AFA) there stated seniority integration method will prevail.

I believe AFA keeps it simple with date of hire.

So, no changes here ........

Well, the easties seem convinced that it will be a 3 way with AA/east/west and their "logic" would also apply to the FA's since their combined seniority list hasn't been memorialized in a ratified contract (as of now).

It would be ironic to have the west FA's and east pilots hoping for the same thing...

Bill:
Given that the strong rumor is that Parker has offered the APA DAL rates (and a 7 yr fence for a DOH list) ...do you have access to actual DAL category pay rates?

Tom

Interesting!!!

Oh no, Chip Munn and Mark Minor are on a suicide watch, this merger means we are NEVER going back to ALPA. APA here we come.

Why would Parker be in court telling judge silver that it has to be the Nicolau but now telling the APA to use DOH? Do you even think this through?

Parker wants an AA merger done. M/B means arbitration. Use the Nicolau and the AA list. It will not come out DOH. Use 3 lists it will not come out DOH. That dream is dead.

Neither side the company or APA want litigation. Nicolau no law suit. Anything else. Delay and law suit.

What do you think the 7 year fence is for? Equipment? Fencing the east into CLT, PHL and DCA? Or out of all the other bases?

My guess would be a 7 year AA WB fence. Only AA pilots can fly them.

Any restriction costs the company money. APA is not going to give up any money for east pilots to protect them. No base protection, no separate ops. No DOH.
