Indeed. So many obvious questions remain unanswered. Since Doug's apparently promised the APA no furloughs from their group...(and yeah, I know..but I'll omit debating the the actual "value" of such a "promise" for now)..well...from where would furloughs come? Additionally; management evidently "did a deal" with American's major unions...sans ANY apparent consultation with, much less any "promises" made, to ANY union on the US side. Dear Doug has established that he has no problem with not integrating employee groups, and, in essential fact; even running entirely separate operations with wholly different contracts. Additionally; who can know that management isn't just doing WHATEVER it takes right now to get their little grubbies on American?...while readying themselves for BK2/scrapping any/all "promise"/contracts/etc, not long down the road? Perhaps I'm just being overly obtuse here, but any cause for excessive exuberance for ANY US employees seems a bit premature...to say the least.
