You have a job. Absent the meger AAA would have been liquidated. That was the plan that SWA, DAL, JBLU and others were all counting on.

And, sir:

YOU have a job...absent the merger HP would have been BK/liquidated. That was the plan that SWA (your only concern) was counting on. Count YOURSELF lucky.

The supreme sacrifices the East made over the years to perpetuate the "cash cow" that USAir is/was is what attracted Parker and the Wall Street $$....and it is what is keeping you in your job today.

You're welcome.

Well said, my friend!

Folks,

The "who saved who" chest thumping stops here and now. The next post arguing this point yet again gets deleted without prejudice, and if it continues time off will be granted.

And the name calling stops now as well.....

Good, yes. Just as well.

Too many people have covered this topic, including the CEO.

I read that the East may get a bump year-end. Good. Rightfully so. The "west brothers'" got 4% in JAN off the East backs..(again)

This will all stop soon enough. We have underwritten this company long enough at out own personal expense...

All my East friends get this. It's time that the wheel gets some grease.

Make mine 20w-50.

PS: NYC 😉

You can squeak all you want, but at least try to get your facts straight.

The West CBA provided for a 3% increase on 01JAN2007 - and that is it until a new CBA is signed. Where you came up with that 4% is anybody's guess.

For once, I wish one of you "brothers" would be right about something, though.

As usual, you make my point for me....a 1% correction on a figure that you don't even deserve ...all things considered.

Tell us, sir, what did the west system produce to warrant a 3% bump in January?

(never mind, we all know the answer)

Was it the Parker induced 10% pulldown of LAS?...

Or the pulldown of the PHX leisure market that paid for your 3% RAISE this January?

hmmmm?

No?

It's OK...I'll help you with the correct words:

The East system and it's markets have continued to underwrite the company and it's west markets in spite of their previous CBA spin by ALPA.

Again, you're welcome.

Your circular arguments only make our case for us.

thanks....I guess.

enjoy it while it lasts

All we ask is that everyone recognize who pays for what here..

( I give myself a timeout for a few days....)

Not to mention how we will be downsizing the west unprofitable operation this coming year!!!!

Not to mention how we will be downsizing the west unprofitable operation this coming year!!!!

Could you point to the 2008 books that show the west as unprofitable?

Are you a member of management? I don't believe that pilots have a say in where cuts come from. BTW there is a T/A that has min fleet. The west has taken our cuts. It may be the east side's turn for a little "right sizing". Plus there is a grievance over west block hours. If usapa wins that one.

Guess what? Transfer of block hours back to the west. Downsizing coming to a town near you.

carry on.

One of my favorite Judge Wake comments so far🙁paraphrasing)

"yes, the other employee groups may all be date of hire, but it's different with pilots..."

yep, gonna be good.

COMMENT DELETED BY MODERATOR

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
October 29, 2008 - Preliminary Injunction Hearing

MR. SEHAM
If you look at every other major employee group on this property, the dispatchers, the flight attendants, the mechanics, the stock employees, they are all going through a
pure date of hire.

THE COURT: That's irrelevant. I mean, things are different from pilots than other groups.

At least get the quote correct, it is even posted on this thread. Irrelevant is a pretty strong term. The DFR is not about the Nicolau. He will not be ruling on the fairness or unfairness of that arbitration. So pointing to what others did is IRRELEVANT.

The case is about how usapa has acted since it's inception. Period.

Uh...sorry. I thought everyone here knew what "paraphrasing" meant.

Since you are evidently unclear, I apologize.

look it up for yourself....on your own time.

As to USAPA's DFR...

they've been soliciting your west input from day ONE...

Maybe you can sue AWAPPA or McIllvenna for "obstructing your justice"....of course, since you were ALL in ONE ACCORD against USAPA....?

I suppose that will fail too...

oh well.

OK! Here is my input. Drop DOH use Nicolau as agreed.

Are we good now?

Paraphrasing and intentionally misrepresenting something. Two different things. Accuracy is important when making a point.

Nope.

Write this down.

"We" will never be "good".

Is that clear?

The two respective groups have polarized irrevocably, I think.

I will ALWAYS have my East boys' back. PERIOD.

I commute, and I couldn't give 2 $&it$ about the west system.

Is that clear enough?

The East system and it's markets have continued to underwrite the company and it's west markets in spite of their previous CBA spin by ALPA.

Please elaborate...you have an airline that loses nearly $5 Billion in the decade-and-a-half preceeding the merger, is in it's second BK and by many accounts is on the verge of liquidation, yet now that same system and markets somehow are so robust and profitable as to "underwrite" the money-losing west?
