WEST/EAST transition training classes

Great read Multi. Does anyone know what changes are being made in the West training? Heard its all new commands for them? Anything else? What about trips built with the pilots vs changing pilots and a/c on all trips?
WE are going to the "EAST" way of commands.
We are going to the Baige pages/blue pages/etc...
We still dont have a video for the EOW aircraft to Hawaii.
WE are getting the green flap for the 757 door that says disarmed in front of the lever.
We are having to (now * Kick *) the jumpseat up.
We are having to rub the door. (That's funny, with the back of our hands... We feel like we are caressing the door. 🙂 )
We are having to thow the overwing window out of the aircraft now (we use to set it on the seat behind or in front of the exit row.)
We are having to learn (your- East) equipment. Rules/and standards. Such as the new AED.

That's about it I can remember.
However, the east has made some great changes... The trainers kind of laughed at themselves about our (as you guys call them - Our wonder Woman Poses. LOL )
for the Door ops.

Anyhow, The East Trainers are great. Very proffessional and nice and helpfull... Its nice to be treated like adults than to be ruled with a IRON fist... by our last INflight Training Mgt....

I think that most airlines have you throw the emg. exit out of the aircraft as people can knock it over inside the aircraft and it can potentially block the exit.
If its a passenger, what they gonna do to them if there is an emergency and they throw the door/window out of the plane? You can tell people stuff even before an incident, but once that evac starts, the passengers are just gonna proceed fast.

There is no word yet that a change in "who is responsible to remain on board" has been determined. It's not in the current training program, I'll find out for sure and get back to you.

By the way...is anyone going to attend classes in CLT this week (week of 15th)?

I'm Going On Friday the 19th.. WaHoo!!

SKY HIGH states: Ok, here's one. Emergency equipment locations......who's procedure?

I get to go to this "Confluence of Minds" this week! I am getting aroused as I write this! My question, "Should I practice my Wonder Woman pose IN ADVANCE?" (Personally I prefer a Charlie's Angel strut but obviously that got nixed in The Great Debate in The Desert) 😀 😛

I am in class day after tomorrow. I can't wait to "molest" the door to see if it's "hot" like the Easties do!

What a joke....if there is fire outside your exit, you will either see it or know it because all the plastic on the door will be melting away (if you haven't already passed out from the toxic smoke). What is with the "caressing" of the door with the backs of your hands?? Shouldn't I buy the door dinner and drinks first?

Most Airlines train the FA's to ASSESS the door!

🙄 I COMPLETED "THE MISSION".......not as bad as what I would have thought. The first part of the class was very Dry, boring presentation. The much hyped "Monitor &Verify" door procedures was actually an interesting twist to what we generally do anyways. (I can hardly wait to see two ST8 guys do the Wonderwoman arm pose reciting their actions though......."Saturday Night Live" may want to do a spoof on this number (I can p*ss myself NOW just thinking of some of those Pittsburgh boys in action doing it- talk about Sh*ts & Giggles). For the most part, NOT a bad session though and the instructors did a nice job.

sky high states: This procedure comes from the PIEDMONT MERGER folks. The theory is, while your visually assessing the outside conditions, you are also checking for HEAT with the back of your hands. Why the back of the hands? If your hands are injured, its the back of the hands, so you can still operate another exit.

I recall one of the early versions of the safety demo showed the F/A looking out the window and feeling the door for heat before opening it. This was the version that showed how to open the doors.
