What's new

2015 Fleet Service thread

History has shown the financial environment, especially in this industry, changes continually. In most cases it changes gradually with the markets, oil prices, consumer confidence and such. In other cases it changes on a dime, global crisis, acts of terrorism, acts of God and such. The fruit, right now, is ripe for the picking. Record projected and Q3 profits. Let's get to the table! Lock and Load!

Maybe you have it backwards. I think we need to "load" the reps of the Association in a room and "lock" the door until something is accomplished. This is seriously one of the most pathetic things I have witnessed in my years in the industry.

The seniority issue cant possibly be with fleet service. Are we waiting for MTC? Can fleet service go it alone?
The Seniority Issue will always be with fleet service, until HIRE DATE SENIORITY is administered to every fleet agent for everything that is used for seniority. Bidding Shifts, Bidding Vacation, Pay Rates, Accruing Vacation, Transferring, Upgrading, Furloughing, Non-Rev Boarding. Did I miss any?

Rogue.....

Occupational DOH rules except Vacation and of course FCFS for Non-Rev boarding. Just the way it should be.

I doesn't matter what you or I think, the Association will have it all screwed up by the time you get to cast a vote.

The update was disappointing. It gave no new insight on any movement. Has the company been contacted? Are dates trying to be scheduled? Seniority integration can be done parallel to negotiations. It's time to start talking to the company now.

What exactly are we waiting for?

That is a good question

What is occupational seniority?
regards,

Classification = Occupational

Date of Hire = Company

Both sides of the seniority committee are meeting in DCA 11/10 through 11/12.

What's the hurry?
We don't want to rush in there Willy nilly, and get locked into something we might regret down the road.
They are waiting for Deltas next raise, sometime next year, then, they will get something going, just in time for your birthday, circa 2017.

Sorry, but you lobbed it up there. 🙂

And I agree with you, let's go guys, get to the table, now.

parker has been reasonably honest and forthcoming for a ceo. He also has changed stances after long delays in negotiations, and it hasnt been good. He has his happy face on now but it wouldnt be unreasonable to conclude that he may see a very unprepared union leadership, and initiate a less kind stance.

I mean, one thing we all know now is that the union is unprepared, as Klemm finally acknowledged, and although thats embarrassing, it could haunt us and prove less wages and less bennies than the cwa got.
Now is the time to get #$#@ together and be prepared, not the time for intra union barbie tantrums and petty bs. Jerking Parker around over internal squabbles is juvenile.

As an aside, when does the TWU take over the leadership of the Association? Seems like everything is plugged up with the current disarray exhibited. Seniority, station designation, contract negotiations and presumably the interpretation of when the twu takes over is all a matter of perspective.

No wonder there is more gray in our contracts than a USS battleship, the two union prez put together the Association agreement that only puts 2lbs of potatoes in a ten pound sack.

LUS bid their VC by Classification/Occupational...LAA bids VC by Company/Date of Hire...this is one of the differences.

You pro Association supporters, and some of you were a**holes about it were warned. It was a bad thing when it was announced, and it only continues to get worse. You have already lost unrecoverable money so you better hope that the benefits and scope is so unbelievably strong that you can look past any negativity. I for one cannot and will not. Not so much the losses, but the fact that most of us knew these two organizations were running a system for their benefit and the members came second. And now, as predicted, this so called representation is harming it's members even more by it's inability to see eye to eye. Also be warned, there are more issues between the two than we are led to believe. NOTHING GOOD HAS OR WILL COME FROM THIS UNELECTED REPRESENTATION!

i will wait till it produces an industry leading contract. If it fails and continues to struggle then it will be time to replace it. Time will telll and hopefully it surprises us.
