2015 Fleet Service thread

Agree that both like UA would be great. BTW, if you haven't looked at pax ser contract you should, problems with some things. Think they should vote down.
The CWA is pushing it hard. The few PAX folks I talked to at ORD are voting for it 100%. They don't have a contract right now and seem to be a strong money lean. I imagine most hubs will pass it as they feel protected. Sorta like how ORD, IAD, SFO, ORD passed the United contract as they didn't seem to care about smaller or mid sized station work.

Same thing happened at US AIRWAYS. Hubs had no problem approving class 2 pay for mid sized stations while other stations got contracted out. I imagine Parker has a thin line he will budge on and will offer the money and maybe holidays and in return insist on converting to the American Health plan [more cost for LUS full timers], converting to American scope, thereby refusing to cover catering, and probably meet at about 15 flights a day scope. I would be against that sorta scope unless it was in single digits, but I admit that a contract with a big money grab and some more retirement monies and holidays will pass by the strong majority even if it meant tossing out catering and small stations. Most everyone I talked to in ORD wants the cash. Parker isn't stupid.

Honestly, people upstairs and even downstairs are counting the ways they can spend the $29.27 and aren't really caring much about anything other than their own station. I hate to say but $29.27 will pass overwhelmingly as long as holidays were added and double time. Heck it may even pass without double time added or holidays. My hope is that the negotiation team is wise and doesn't do like the IBT at United or like Canale back in 2005. Bringing back a proposal to the members, with the negotiating team washing its hands and saying "We didn't agree to this but we decided to bring it to a vote" is a lack of duty imo as the members will most certainly pass it even if it had little scope or part time restrictions. It just seems to me that the big pay raise is all that folks are looking at, and that's all that most will look at. Everyone is jumping at the pay. People don't care. I'm telling you, they don't read or care about anything but their own station. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

I think they vote in too, don't think they are looking at fine print.

From what I read of the TA, and from what I listened to in the CWA propaganda, I think the CWA is very accurate that they will increase their membership by a few thousand. However, the makeup of that membership will become mostly SARS as they will infest the ticket counters and all other job functions other than maybe printing a ticket or working a gate. But even that is a gray area where a SAR can make boarding announcements and pull tickets, etc. Basically, every gate will have one SAR and one CSA as opposed to two CSA now. A lot of displacement will most likely follow. This will definitely be "I told you so" contract where those that vote for it will be out the door, over time. I'm assuming most senior people will be ok and realize that and will vote for it. Few really care about anyone else anymore. It's more of a 'to each his own' mentality out here.

well, if they arent squabling then will it make you feel better if i said they are taking a friendly stroll in the woods?

The reality is that they said they are still preparing. That means the two intl bosses havent agreed or found resolution. Disappointing indeed.

Tim,

Exactly who isn't getting along? Is it MTC or Fleet? All this squabbling chatter from you only means one thing. You are going to make yet another failed attempt to run for office in 2016, and this is your way of setting up the "I can save you if I'm your AGC" mantra. Please spare us. If you have proof that there is dissention among the NC then please share it. Oh wait, you have proof but it for your eyes only, double top secret stuff you can't share with the regular Joe's on this forum, but in time we will see. Is that it? You alway have "proof" but never share it, you always are "in the know", when in actuality you were wrong almost all of the time with regards to LUS information, come on. When will you stop with the "I know more than you" and just give it a rest? I, personally would rather our NC take their time and get it right, rather than rush into JCBA talks, and potentially miss some pretty important stuff for its members. I hope you get crushed again next year, maybe then you will realize that the members do not want you as an AGC and stop already, we have already told you twice via elections but you still just can't grasp that WE DON'T WANT YOU REPRESENTING US!

If they are in agreement then what are they waiting for? Where is your proof? Oh yeah, that's right, no negotiation dates. Sorry PJ but our members need more than your strawman, "We just don't want to rush things." Disappointing indeed.

Remember the last time when he had an insider in the negotiations and was telling everyone how his inside man was forecasting doom and gloom for your stand alone contract. Poof. Complete BS.

Megalomania

Gautier_-_Salpetriere.JPG

1857 lithograph by Armand Gautier, showing personifications of dementia, megalomania, acute mania, melancholia, idiocy, hallucination, erotomania and paralysis in the gardens of the Hospice de la Salpêtrière.

Megalomania is a psychopathological disorder characterized by delusional fantasies of power, relevance, or omnipotence, "Megalomania is characterized by an inflated sense of self-esteem and overestimation by persons of their powers and beliefs."[1]Historically it was used as an old name for narcissistic personality disorder prior to the latter's first use by Heinz Kohut in 1968, and is used these days as a non-clinical equivalent.[2][3] It is not mentioned in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)[4] or the International Statistical Classification of Diseases (ICD).

Again, if you have proof please share it. I never said that they were in agreement. Please re-read my reply to you. I asked you who was "squabbling", was it MTC or Fleet? Look I am in no hurry. Our stand alone CBA is good. That is why I said that I, personally, would rather our NC take their time. Me, my opinion alone. I do not speak for anybody but me. You however like to speak for the membership, a membership that doesn't want anything to do with you. Proven twice already. When will you learn?

Im 56 and sticking with the IAM pension with my fingers and toes crossed.  I dont want another nickel going in they had their chance and blew it.For the rest they should be given a choice the pension or 401. Forcing anyone over 45 into this is absurd
Forcing anyone at any age is absurd, with the new law governing multi-co plans and the outsourcing of jobs
that would have been the members that would keep the plan solvent it is on the same path as the Teamster
plan in the story.  So please do not be offended when LAA employees circle the wagons on this issue but
any joint agreement with the IAMPF mandatory in any way for LAA employees is DOA.

Exactly why are they meeting? To discuss the hold up? To give a date as to when they will approach AA? To discuss the differences that need to be ironed out?...do tell!
