AFA labor discussion (Work related)

Teddy is the "Rebel Girl" and one can only wonder what would have happened if Teddy was at Delta these last past election. I didn't always agree however Mother Jones, Sarah Ogan Gunning, Florence Reese, Aunt Molly Jackson and many others would recognize her and welcome her in.
 
Isn't this the 3rd time Delta has said NO to AFA?

And let's not forget all the wasted money and resources SQUANDERED in attempting to Organize at Delta. The former Northwest was very much Pro Labor and was willing to confront Management at every opportunity whereas Delta and their so called "Delta Family" (just the phrase makes Me nauseaus) has always been Submissive to any demands placed before them and willing To give The Company any demands they requested. Management/Labor negotiations are a TWO WAY Street, and needs to be treated as such. There is an old saying, "You get More bees with Honey than You do with Vinegar" and until A-L-L the Corporate Bandits wake Up and understand this notion, the Worker Bee's are not willing to Give You (Management) S-q-u-a-t with the assumption that what they give up will Line YOUR Pockets even more so. Thievery at the Corporate Levels have placed the World Economy to the position to where It Is Today and never more apparent than in the sorry US of A.

Well if she doesn't win that means she shouldn't have been in the position to vote. I don't see how her vote can count. Vote someone in who will have the interest of ALL MEMBERS at heart. Speaking of what the union members want....imagine if Mike and the rest had THIS attitude.

"We're not going to be the pawns that make it easy by saying 'we should take less so their merger can work,'" said Robert Roach, IAM general vice president. "We intend to get the best contracts for our members who are working under sacrifice contracts. We intend to snap back to where we were and get enhancements as well."

Have any of you had the joy 🙄 of working with Cathy Campbell? And that's who will be running against Ann. From what I'm hearing everyone else is bowing out. Correct if I'm wrong.

She is the biggest pain in the tail to work with.

She has to have center stage. She has a pathological need to be the center of attention. F/a's scramble around trying to avoid working with her. The pilots hate working with her too....including her pilot boyfriend.

Oh and if you're over weight....she willl try to get you bounced off you trip...She's done that too. At the cost of thousands of dollars to the company for delaying the flight. Oh yeah.....she's NOT what I'd call an advocate for f/a's.

And Travel.....Ann has always had the interests of the members at heart. We have a very effective council in CLT. Far more so than any of the other ones.

I am a CLT FA by force and I do not agree with the above comments. Sorry. I fail to see how the best interests of the FAs are being served by keeping Austin and Flores in their positions. One of the single most important decisions and IMO Ann failed the FAs.

Cathy C has come a long way since she started trying to be involved in the union. I still don't agree with her views on some things but she is one hell of a fighter and she tries. People do mature and gain experiance. More than I can say for anyone in office now. Name four things Anne has done in six years. I mean votes to better our lives. Causes or issues she stamped as her own. Anything? Has she taken a chance on any freaking thing? That's what unionism is about guys.

Also, the Labor Department steps in and tells AFA not to discuss this with anyone. Not to touch anything related to this rerun election speaks volumes. Anne and AFA International know better than to disenfranchise people and ignore voting rights. They never thought Cathy would actually take it to the mat and blow the whistle- then win. Say what you like about the girl. She has a set and will follow through.

Until you can tell me how effective Anne is, I don't get the personal attacks. Waiting...... B)

I am a CLT f/a and it is very apparent that this post was done by a Council89 LEC officer or someone close to one. So Ann must be freakn out knowing that her days are numbered. Ann has not been effective for the membership in a very long time. She is too busy spreading gossip and trying to trash peoples character. I know that I am and will vote for Cathy. Go team Cathy!!!! 😀
It is obvouis from your post flybynite that Ann is jealous of Cathy and will go to any measure to try and trash her character. Wow I have to admit that I am stunned that she would stoop so low trying to protect her throne. Hope you have your uniform ready to come back out on line with the rest of us.

Your comment of Cathy having f/a tossed off trip.....FAA has ruled that a seat belt extender "compromises the integrity of the J/S" so blame FAA or the large f/a. That f/a needs to take responsibility for her own life and weight! She was the reason why the flight was delayed, not Cathy. Supervisors remove f/a's so you can't blame Cathy for that one either.

I personally don't have any issues with any those currently serving. They stepped up, got involved, and tried to do their best.

With that said like it or not, I do think Cathy has that "fire and passion" that is needed in the union and this membership has been sorely missing (since Teddy X) especially in CLT. We need someone like her more than ever.

Cathy might not always say it the most eloquently way possible.....but she is a force to be reckoned with and more times than not, she knows what she is talking about and demands attention.

If she didn't - this wouldn't be happening would it?

She held the organization accountable and didn't just lay down and accept it what she was told like a "good little stewardess". That in itself is enough
for me.

Are YOU really happy and willing to work for AWA wages and work rules? Then it is time to start questioning the organization, the company, and the phrase: "at crew scheduling's discretion".

We all have own opinions - and now we all have YET another opportunity to "voice" said opinion. Don't waste it.
The CLT F/As are going to have to actually take the time to VOTE. For God's sake, less than half in CLT even took the time to vote in the last election bless their hearts. Is it really too much to ask to take 10 minutes out of your busy life to actively participate in one's "so-called" career?

If you don't get actively involved in the process - the process is going to actively involve you. Like the last 5 years? Like what Mike F and Carol A have come up with so far? Don't sit back and say you didn't have an opportunity to make your voice heard THIS time.

Tired of being a victim? Try getting involved - Cathy did. You know you get what you negotiate and when half the base can't even be bothered enough in casting their vote in the last election - that's pathetic.

..and all the while the company is loving it and more to the point, benefiting from it.

If your happy with that status quo - you should be happy being the lowest paid in the industry. So please quit complaining about the contract and blaming the pilots for it.

If your not happy - quit making excuses (and petitions), get involved, and try VOTING.
 
I agree everyone should get involved. Get involved in knowing what is being sold to you boys and girls. A bill of bad goods filled with horrible language. Just the other day in the crew room a few STILL say, 'I need to see more'. What in HELL is wrong with people? Grab your famous NO tag and sport it loud and proud. If anyone sees a f/a with a YES tag feel free to let me know. It's about time the f/a's TAKE BACK THEIR UNION even if it is one base at a time. One question in regards to the CLT fiasco. What does Cathy think of Flores and his illustrous job thus far?
