Your are correct, but I believe it went to PHL. Schrader valve was leaking and nose gear did not have proper pressure in it which caused the retract problem. The FAA was in PHL investigating. Rumor is they are going to Mobile. Yes, Mobile needs to have more oversight.

So what your saying is that these types of incidents NEVER occurred at U? We are all human you know!

Lets see the MAE has worked on approxiatmely 16 US Airways' Planes and 8 out of those 16% have had maintenance incidents and problems upon leaving MAE, including several emergency landings with passengers on board.

50% of the work was substandard, not a good track record.

US own overhaul has never had a problem rate like that.

PJ,
What i am saying is, this is just another DOCUMENTED blunder by our friends in BAMA. This unfortunatley stems from typical corporate mentality ( the outsourcing that is). Sacrifice quality for quantity. Hopefully the FAA will catch the next big problem before it becomes fatal.

The planes have a few minor issues, but exactly what you would expect on a new fleet type.

...I would " expect " Management would rather have their own experienced mechanics work on the A-330....It's NOT a new fleet type to them...

Oh, I forgot,, Alabama is "Dr." Bronner's state....

The airbus A320 is NOT a new fleet type, nor is an A330. The A320 entered for any airline entered revenue service in 1988. The first A330 entered revenue service for any airline in 1994, hardly a new type of aircraft.

ST MAE has been overhauling A320s for years, they been doing UALs and even did such a fine job that the nose gear on its first landing twisted around and ground down to the hubs.

8 out of 16 planes is not minor, three emergency landings on one plane is not minor, a plane falling of the jacks and getting damaged is not minor. Removing the girt bar catches and covering them over with PRC is not minor and misrigging a MED slide is not minor.

Try to figure out a differant way to spin it.

What do you define as a minor issue?

The quality of work coming out of MAE is crap!!

Crap with a big C..

I know the US Airways Supervisor they use at MAE.. He's pencil whip Jim.. He
signs off everything regardless of anything.. Thats a fact..

He signs off work from the planning office.. He's a hack.. Thats why they sent him.
