IF it can be done by the teamsters we will keep it in house.... The usair east hangers are set up to do C_CHECKS we lost all tooling at AWA after 95 the company sold all C-CHECK tooling. under the teamsters we can keep our work at home per the contract. read it.• Article II-SCOPE of the current AWA agreement states that all maintenance work performed in-house by Teamster mechanics
shall remain in-house and be performed
by Teamster mechanics. Management is
prohibited from subcontracting
This part of your scope addresses "Teamster Mechanics". The co.is going to come back and say that you can't protect something "you" are not currently performing(S-checks,Q-checks,C-checks).

 US Airways also could expand aircraft maintenance here, said executive VP of operations Al Crellin.
"Pittsburgh is a strong consideration for us, in terms of adding maintenance," said Crellin, the only top executive to move from the old US Airways.
Whether such work would be done in-house or by a contractor should be decided within six months, he said. The choice depends partly on which union ends up representing aircraft mechanics. The Teamsters contract at America West allows heavy maintenance outsourcing, but the International Association of Machinists contract at the old US Airways does not.
If this doesn't spell it out in black and white for you then I don't know what will!

"The new company said they would honor the contract," Mr. Freiberger said, but, "they didn't like it. They were really upset."
IAM contract is up for renegotiation in March 2009.....any attempt to renegotiate it before then would require both company and IAM agreement.at this point in time, the company's point would be to negotiate lower wages and improve on outsourcing ,so there would be no benefit to opening it.Q. Is it true that IAM representing the US Airways mechanics waived the right to renegotiate their contract provided they are the representing union?
A. We’ll have to defer you to the IAM on this one. Any position that the IAM may take related to the on-going application of that collective bargaining agreement in the merged and integrated operation is a subject that can best be addressed by the IAM.
This was a question posed by someone on the recent webcast. Can an IAM representative factually answer this, please.
Is this your veiw or is this fact? It sounds like your veiw.IAM contract is up for renegotiation in March 2009.....any attempt to renegotiate it before then would require both company and IAM agreement.at this point in time, the company's point would be to negotiate lower wages and improve on outsourcing ,so there would be no benefit to opening it.
go look it up under RLA section 6...see for yourself. Is this your veiw or is this fact? It sounds like your veiw.
