Holiday Hustle

Let the spin begin.
Must have been the jetstream.

Yes and no, according to the status update thing they had going on The Hub. We maintained above the goal throughout Nov and through Dec. But on Dec 26th, went below the goal.. I can only see us getting the $50 payout for the month of Nov and man I'm looking forward to that going straight into my gas tank when I get it. *sarcasm*

i wander why they took the running tally off the hub

Is it just me or did we get our butts handed to us for the holidays ? Here in PHX it seemed like a madhouse , where did all the new people that we had been hiring all year GO ? It felt like we were short staffed , and what was up with the TONS of people calling in sick on the holidays ? There is no way the effort I put in on the job is anywhere near 50 extra dollars …. This company should just be thankful that folks like myself who do this as an actually career rather than just a “Funâ€￾ job didn’t call in sick.

Guess the Carrot on the stick just didnt work this time......guess Tempe will just have to raise our "FN" pay back to rates we can afford to live on. I think most didnt give 2 sh_ts about a lousy 100 bucks they want real improvements in there life from the work they provide and since morale is at all time lows I think most are glad US execs didnt get the positive press on such a bogus attempt to make it sound like they were giving us a holiday bonus. All the workers continue to get from this company is just BONED!

US Airways employees won't get bonus

US Airways employees won't get $100 in bonus money after falling short on two performance goals over the holidays.

The airline's "Holiday Hustle" program would have rewarded employees for meeting two goals between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31: at least 60 percent of all flights departing at the scheduled time or earlier, and mishandling no more than seven bags per 1,000 bags. Employees would have gotten $50 for reaching just one goal.

Final statistics weren't available Wednesday, but US Airways spokesman Phil Gee said the airline missed both goals. Through Dec. 26, 58.5 percent of flights departed at the scheduled time, and US Airways had mishandled 7.43 bags per 1,000 bags.

Gee said via e-mail that the airline was on track to meet both goals until mid-December, when bad weather and packed planes led to more delays and baggage issues.

"The operation still went pretty well," Gee said, "but not well enough to get the prize."

The Arizona-based US Airways has about 36,000 employees, including about 5,300 based in Charlotte, its largest hub.

They should have come up with a different formula to calculate the on time departure requirement. Nobody can control the weather, so flights departing late because of weather should not be factored in. It was a crap shoot from the beginning. Worse than normal weather and we lose the bonus. Great weather and we probably get the bonus even if we screwed up too much.

Oh no , now how will I get to work without the 50 dollars ? I was counting on that for gas money! I guess I’ll just have to ride the city bus like everyone else does now ..

how the hell are we supposed to get a bonus when they stack the deck against us. The other day we took a 30 minute delay while load control told us we could not take all the bags. Mind you this is a 300 flight between bwi and clt. As it turns out we leave 20 bags behind. Now explain to me how we are going to reach these so called goals when we have to deal with this bs. what a joke we are.

Huh, that's real weird. Especially considering I've always been told (and never told of a change) that we bump the passengers and the bags go. Look at your order of removal.
